Hello, I'm new to posting things, so I didn't know if I should put release or info or tutorial. Anyways, the first time I played DayZ there was mouse lag, and fps lag, and lots of other problems. I've searched why and so and found a site where it fixes it. I hope this helps most people who have fps lag, or mouse lag, ect ect. Sorry if all of you know about this already, just trying to help =). If anyone know's any other ways of having less lag on dayZ, i'd be thankful =). |You may already know this method or not but this is for those who have experience problems in their gameplay|. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you're like most people I've met with ArmA, your first impression was unsatisfactory. You were met with either incredible lag when playing all but the most simple missions, your mouse felt like it was attached to your gun via rubber band, and overall you found the game unplayable. Let's fix that. FPS lag fix: Step 1: Go into your "My Documents" folder. Step 2: Open "ArmA 2" folder. Step 3: Look for the following lines in ArmA2.cfg, ArmA2OA.cfg, and any other ArmA versions you have. GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1000; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=3; Step 4: Change them to: GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; Step 5: ? ? ? Step 6: Profit. This should dramatically help your FPS lag. Now for the mouse lag. Mouse lag fix: Step 1: Open ArmA 2. Step 2: Open your control settings for whatever profile you use. Step 3: Drag mouse smoothing to zero. Step 4: ? ? ? Step 5: Profit Oh, and one more thing. This will further help FPS and especially help if you're hosting a game which is CPU intensive. Got more than one CPU on your computer? Probably. Most computers do today. CPU resource increase: Step 1: Go into the Steam library (or the shortcut you use to launch ArmA 2 if you use any mods like Invasion 44). Step 2: Open properties, then launch options (or just properties if it's a shortcut to a mod). Step 3: Add the following line to the launch options (or shortcut path): -CpuCount=# *(with # corresponding to the number of CPUs you have or want to use for ArmA. I have a quad-core, so I put 4.) Step 4: ? ? ? Step 6: Big profit. Hope this all helps you all improve your ArmA 2 experience. :3

I understand how you don't get attached to your gear, but being teleported/hacked is totally different than getting shot legit. I would suggest joining a active admin server that has a rollback and decent amount of server restarts to get rid of lag. There, you will be set and enjoy dayZ.

DayZcommander is awesome to have. It can install/re-install latest/earlier beta patches. I had the problem I just simply went back to the other arma beta patch and it worked fine.

Hey guys, Your computers are alot better than mine lmao. Mine isn't even reaching 2.0 ghz. my graphic card is HD ATI. and 4 gig ram. But I play dayZ smoothly with the methods I've done to prevent lag and fps lag. If you have the time. Take a look at my profile and find my posts that helps with fps, and lag. If you wanna buy it now, you can. Its all up to you. Its only 20$?. You can download Arma 2 free but OA is 20$. Best to be prepared and know what DayZ is like till it finally gets released. But like I said. Its up to you. I haven't played in a while. So ima play till the standalone is out. To many bugs and hackers. If you wanna risk getting hacked and catching lots of bugs. Go and buy it =)

What do you mean "Kicked off" ?. Admin kick? Just a normal kick? It never happened to me. Maybe its the server?. Have you tried switching servers and testing this problem out?. I don't know what exactly causes this problem. Might be some sort of bug. Try killing yourself and get a new character. If you have a ghillie switch it with another outfit if you can find one.

Be careful of who you meet. Sometimes they only use you for a pawn, or to just kill you in the end. There are some guys out there that'd be cool to play with. But remember, DayZ isn't always full of nice people.

Edit- Due to to many hackers and standalone right around the corner, I will be not hosting a Private Hive until Standalone is released.

How is it banning you? o.o. Only way it does that is if you crash a vehicle i believe. (Sometimes) if not, if your renting it from SurvivalServers you can go into the TCAadmin and delete your name in the Anti-hax files. Or just uninstall it completely lol.

Well I host my own server, and if something like that would happen I'd turn off the server and check all the logs to see who it was. And Mandalore is correct, to rollback the server also. Therefore the things that the hacker did wouldn't have happened and the hacker will be banned. So the only real threat is the waste of time of doing the rollback and stopping the server.

Hello, I haven't made any helpful posts in a while, so i found this out. As for all who haven't read my previous post about FPS lag. Please take a look and if it helps thank me. Okay. To start off. Make sure you want it on a profile. Such as, If you have more than one. You can do it to your main. Or the others if you prefer. This will help, may make the game look worse, (Haven't noticed myself). But it does help with lag. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Instructions: 1: Head over to "My Documents" than head over to "Arma 2" or "Arma 2 Other Profiles" (If you have another profile you want less lag with". 2: Now, open up these 2 files, "ARMAOAPROFILE" and "ARMA2PROFILE" (Most likely the one's on the bottom with your main in-game name) 3: Now open "ARMAOAPROFILE" with notepad and look for "ShadingQuality", "SceneComplexity", and "MouseSmoothing" and "TerrianGrid". 4: Now change "ShadingQuality" to 0. "Scenecomplexity" to "150000", "MouseSmoothing" to 1. And "TerrianGrid" to 50. 5: Make sure to do this to the other "ARMA2PROFILE" and other profiles you made. 6: profit. WARNING: You do not have to do the MouseSmoothing part if you don't want to. WARNING #2: If you do the following "TerrianGrid" if you place it at "50" Your "ObjectsQuality" will be very low and your TerrianQuality will be at very low also. So you can experiment with it. Hello!. TerrianGrid is most likely the "Object Details and Terrian Details" The lower the number the better it looks, the higher the number the worse it looks. Such as at 50. the settings are at very low. At 40 maybe very low - low. The default is 25. but you can adjust and play with it.

I think the admin stopped the server.

I have my mousesmoothing at 1 and it actually helps me a bit. Don't know how but w/e =p

Wait for the stand-alone or take your chance in a private hive. Public Hives are way to packed with hackers. Therefore, if you do buy it. My server as 2 admins on everyday banning hackers. There will be a rollback installed also so hackers will be useless. lmao.

The graphic card is better than mine =P. I got a Quad-Core, some HD graphics, 4 gig ram. And i can play on normal/low settings pretty fine. Take a look at my tuts if you need less lag!

You can join mine, I got 2 admins atm on everybody banning hackers that come. Only bad thing is that we don't have a rollback YET. lol. But when it comes out it will be a hacker free server. it's private hive of course. If you have dayZ commander try filtering in your favs :216.245.195.26:9302.
