They were not pleased I stumbled upon their secret deep woods lair..

Just bought my 280x 2 days ago and it's awesome so far. I did have a xfx 5770 HD so it's a major upgrade. Turn down shadows/clouds, HDR very low, ambient occlusion off, things like that. I have an i5 3570 CPU and I'm getting at least 30 fps in towns and 70-130 fps everywhere else. Just takes a bit of tweaking to find a sweetspot for your system. And as posted above, it's not optimized fully yet.

I was lucky enough to randomly stumbled upon this place at sunrise and I must say, it's a survivors/bandits paradise. Plenty of open spaces, plenty of places to snipe from and more than enough corners and caves to tuck yourselves into. Finding things like this is for me a huge part of what makes the game so much fun. Despite all the whiners giving you guys a hard time about the alpha, bugs etc etc, I think you're doing a great job and am very impressed with the game so far and even more excited to see it develop. With that said, Rocket and the team, Jack Burton salutes you. (`・ω・´)ゞ

Agreed. Just picked up copies of Dracula and Frankenstein. Should be good :)

Haha I wish. I just picked up a new graphics card two days ago. Not the greatest system but I'm pleased with it, can run anything I throw at it. Current spec is: i5 3570k overclocked to 4.3MHz MSI R9 280x Gaming 3G in gaming mode at 1020MHz Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H motherboard 8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM Playing in 1600x900 resolution Everything maxed except clouds and shadows off, HDR off, ambient occlusion off and post process quality is off. But even with those on and I was still getting 60-100 fps outside of the cities and 35-80 inside.

No worries, I just picked up a Russian learning book. Maybe I'll work my magic on some zombies.

Blank options in graphics menu and scroll wheel menu
Jack Burton posted a topic in General Discussion
No visible options available in my graphics settings (such as object detail, terrain), I should see something like "low/disabled/high" but I get none of these. Just blank spaces and have to guess what option I'm selecting. Also have a similar issue when using my scroll wheel on an object. Take a customized M4 on the ground. Scrolling over it I should (according to some YouTube videos I've watched) get options like pick up, remove this or that attachment. I just pick the first option which is usually pick up, but still just guessing. Anyone else have this issue and if so, did you find a fix? Already made a report and sorry for the double post about the same topic, just curious if anyone else has run into this. Also I forgot about the temp. problem post in this section, this should really be there. Apologies. -
Blank options in graphics menu and scroll wheel menu

Found a fix if anyone is having this problem now or in the future. For me I had to open the DayZ.cfg file with notepad and change the language to "English" (Mine was defaulted to Japanese). This fixed all my problems and now I can see all options. -
Cook up your beans and enjoy a game with friends. :)

Uploaded pictures of issue. Help is appreciated as always. :) -
Drop the box on the ground, wait for it to appear and it will come up and all the ammo will be visible. Then drag and drop to load. Or do what's posted above. Also if you can find the two 30 STANAG clips bound together you can load them both, then unload them and you'll have one stack of 60 instead of stacks of 30. Helps to save a bit of space.

Next time you're near a town look for a sign with the name towns name on it and compare that to the website map. Can be a bit tricky finding your location without any coordinates. Try comparing landmarks between you (your map) and the website as well, castles for instance or bodies of water. Might help give you a rough estimate on your location.

Forgot to mention I have a GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard and will be looking for a new power supply, video card and maybe a new monitor. Options on what card/PS to get would be appreciated. Total budget for power supply/Video card is around $500+

From another post, credit to Golgo82. Map combinations: NW part + NE part = North map NE part + SE part = East map SE part + SW part = South map NW part + SW part = West map Combine the N/S/E/W maps to create a full map. Haven't tried this nor found a post that confirms it.

Desktop 1600x900 monitor resolution i5-3570k 3.4Ghz (3.8Ghz turbo) can overclock to 4.3Ghz+ *just auto-tuned and it reset my speed to 4.6Ghz* ATI Radeon 5770 HD graphics card 8GB CORSAIR Vengeance DD3 1600mhz RAM No SSD I can run SA decently but I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card. Any tips would be appreciated. I'd like to spend less than $300 and I reside in Japan. I'm not very tech savvy, I mainly just use a knife. :)

I've found a map section behind the counter in almost every gas station I've visited. Sometimes is kind of tucked under the counter so look hard, maybe even crouch or prone. Although I haven't visited any stations near the coast.

Tried that, went through them all. No luck. The only options actually visible in the video section are "overall quality, rendering resolution and resolution in the UI". All the other options in the "quality, textures and rendering" sections are blank selectable spaces. Thanks for the reply. :) -
All settings on highest, game looks amazing, everything clear as a bell, resolution and display set correctly for monitor yet all text is a little fuzzy. Still able to see what is written but it is fuzzy. Chat and debug monitor included. Never had this problem before. Is this something new that I may have misread in the patch notes? Haven't played DayZ in about 2 months so wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have been playing wasteland and have not encountered this issue. Google search didn't bring up anything related to this. Maybe I'm just being dumb and haven't set or set something incorrectly but all my graphics settings look fine.

Problem solved. Playwithsix said I had the latest version, DayZCommander said otherwise. Updated with commander, perfect now. Lopan trying to rule the universe from beyond the grave again. Dues paid, check is in the mail...
