Hey everyone, I began playing with the editor to make a short film based on DayZ mod, but as a newbie, I am having a few issues that I was hoping someone here can help me out. Basically, my unit is equipt with flares and Chemlights but when I use them, they do not emit light. They glow, and the flares have sparks and smoke, but they do not light up the surrounding area. What command do I have to input to make the flares/chemlights emit light? Thanks

Here is the issue, I added the chemlight to my unit, and he throws it, it glows but does not emit light. Same with the flare, it sparks, the stick itself glows, and smokes but does not emit light to the area

I am going to get the DLC for PMC and BAF, once it's installed do I have to adjust anything else to the game to use the hi res textures?

Figured it out btw, Make a new folder called @DayZ 1.7.2.3 I found a thread where someone has the 1.7.2.3 version for download, just search for "revert back to 1.7.2.3" and the thread should come up. In the @dayz 1.7.2.3 folder (or whatever you want to name it) Make a new folder "Addons" and place the files you downloaded in there. Go to your @dayz folder, copy the files that are not in the @DayZ 1.7.2.3 folder and copy and paste in the 1.7.2.3 folder. Put the folder in your arma2 OA folder where your regular @dayz folder is (if you have not already) Launch arma OA and dayz should still have the single player disabled, go to expansions and disable @DayZ and enable @DayZ 1.7.2.3. It will ask to relaunch the game. When it does you will be able to continue with map editing with the DayZ assets. I am wondering if I just need the weapon, equiptment, character files only to access it. But anyways, continue on with eps 3 :-)

I have been learning the map editor the last week and was having a blast with it until I updated to the latest 1.7.2.4 version with six launcher, and now, i can not access the single player mode and have access to the map editor which I was filming a DayZ short film with.Alright, I just have to launch the arma2 OA, and I still could not launch it. I need help on how I can get back into it and still have the DayZ assets (zombies) so i can continue filming. Do I have to revert back to 1.7.2.3? Can I add a new @dayz folder with the 1.7.2.3 version and still be up to date with the latest so I can still play? Or something completely different? Basically I want the DayZ assets because I read in order to use the zombies, DayZ has to be loaded. I understand Rocket has his reasons for this and it probably has to do with hacking, but I really need some help here. Thanks

Figured it out! , I did press "ctrl e" but did not have the zombies nor any unit assets to add, it came up blank. Made a new @dayz 1.7.2.3 folder and disabled @dayz for the time being until I want to play. I am back at where I was yesterday for my film. Thanks for the help

Will I still be able to use the zombie models from Dayz?

I play on the server on a regular basis, and I have no issues with the server or the admin, nor do I know the admin. I do see him logged in the game but never had a encounter with him. OP, where is your evidence? My advice, next time you encounter a situation like you mentioned....RECORD IT! If I saw a tent city like you said, I would have began recording. I do not know why you are complaining about it, just join another one of the thousands of servers out there My only issue with the server: I wish the admin would turn off the green cross hairs, there is no point for that to be enabled in any server. Bottom line: there is no reason for the server to be blacklisted like some of you have suggested.

I just find posts like this, are useless. But I apologize for what I said. I am glad you take this game serious, I do as well. I feel the people that don't, should stick with Xbox, and PS3, like your former friends. But bottom line, you do not have to speak like a douche to the douches around here because you then become one of them. And I hope I take my own advice.

I am getting the same thing from updating battle eye, and it just started today tried to get into a 1.7.2.3 server with beta 95054 and get to the loading screen and then i get the windows pop up message stating Arma stopped working
