I really don't care if the SA has an editor, but it should at least have it for cinematic purposes. More and more games are doing this. Making a cinematic video is a lot more enjoyable than the game itself at times especially for people who love to be creative. People convince themselves that taking this option out will make hackers disappear, it wont. Like i said it does not matter if the SA will have an editor, ARMA3 will be out soon which has better features than the SA will have. Modders are already creating a DayZ mod for ARMA3. Whether it will be called DayZ is something that can be debated.

Please, enlighten us all with your knowledge of the engine. In my opinion the hackers will be just as bad. You will see. I just love how people think this will reduce hacking to a minimum. It wont.

Dont worry when the SA comes out you will be complaining about all the esp, aimbot, godmode hacks. Instead of vehicles appearing. DayZ would not exist without modding and to see people saying they want the modding aspect shut down because they convince themselves that it will reduce hackers blows my mind. Heck DayZ is the first game where hackers were creative and wanted to spice up the players experience without killing them by scaring them and such. Sure you had a few that did dumb things but some of them were actually fun.

There will be as many hackers in the SA as there are or were in the Mod. Locked or not. Do the people here really think locking down the SA will stop hacking? If the game is popular, then the script kiddies will come. Never seen a popular game that has not been plagued with hacking of some sort. It wont be minimal either. The many vehicles in the private hives have kept this Mod alive, who the heck wants to travel by foot in any of the maps available? It gets tiring after awhile. Script kiddies are a minor annoyance in these servers. Im kind of ok with Rocket not adding mod tools yet to the SA. My fear is that it will either take too long for the tools to finally come out, or the tools will be limited. In which that case, hopefully Arma 3 will be out which will have better features and groups will make a DayZ mod for it or some sort of zombie mod.

No offence but I did not find you tutorial remotely useful. It was either common sense, or you gave wrong advice. Wrong advice as in setting video memory to very high when one with a GFX card with more than 1 gb should set it to default. Plus the resolution you play is not for me. Your view distance set to max is pointless because the server you play on, dictates your view distance, setting it to 10000 would kill your FPS if the server allowed it. There is nothing really that i can suggest to improve this because there are many other videos that go deeper with config editing that help more. So sorry if I sound rude.

Right on, I'm glad its working better now for you. So are you just recording gameplay? Are you using the editor? My DXTory settings are not recommended for game play for long durations, more for the editor

Matt is the hard drive you record on a partition? Or do you have other files on that drive? Recording should only be done with its own non-partitioned drive for best results. If 240 GB is too big, then use a 120 GB one, they go for around 100 bucks. Save $25 a week and by the end of the month you can get one. All you are doing with an SSD is specifically for recording. Once you are done recording move the recorded files to another drive for editing. Is your Arma not on your C: SSD? If not, get it in there, Arma not only relies on CPU & GPU speed hard drive speed is also a factor. As for my DXTory settings http://i.imgur.com/7HJaQ.jpg

Thats weird with only 15mb write speed. With my hd i get about 90-100. With my SSD which is strictly for recording. I get 240. I recommend getting a 240 GB SSD for recording, do not record on your C drive where Arma is located. When i get home i will check my settings on DXTory and get back to you.

DXTory for the win! Best recording software. Well worth the money for it. Record on multiple drives, separate audio streams. The only thing is raw uncompressed files are massive. Larger than fraps. But video recording does not interrupt you FPS as it does with fraps which is a huge bonus. I will never use Fraps again unless they make it like DXTory

He is not fn crazy he is correct. Whats your hard drive speed because that is a factor as well as the CPU & GPU. If you have at least 16gig ram you can run the game on a RamDisk which should help with performance.

1000 is good for me and i even have a great PC.

@voxelcake. Good to know, i wanted to set my c drive in raid with 2 ssd's. the reason i didn't was because my mother board only came with 2 SATA3. Which one is for my recording ssd drive and the other is for my c drive ssd.

Here is a little crit, watched the whole video and to be honest it could have been shorten up. Your video was over 4 minutes and nothing much happened. The video could have been shorten to 1 min if that. The back drop title at the end was way too long. I am not trying to diss you guys at all. I understand you are learning as you go. So please take what i said with a grain of salt. Are you using the editor for some of the shots? Or just for the intro/outro? Project looks interesting though. I would really really recommend an ssd for strictly recording and nothing else, especially for 1080p recording. The reason i suggested your C drive to be 2 ssd's in RAID is because Arma seems to really rely on hard drive speed. People complain how DayZ runs like crap, and they get a good CPU and GPU to find that it still does not run as smooth as one would think especially when you record, but with 32 gb of ram you could also run the game on a RAM disk which should be good as well.
