  1. The appealing, special, original and amazing thing about DayZ is its focus on plausible simulation, and abandonment of everything arbitrary. That it's just people interacting with people. Because of this, I couldn't have a lower opinion of what you're proposing, or of similar abominations.
  2. I like how the grass doesn't render far away. Anything that forces the cowardly types out of cover to fight like men is good in my book.

    Every person is always a danger. Killing anyone you meet and don't know is always the best survival strategy. People are much more dangerous than zombies, its why its so important to kill them all.

    Machete, shotguns, AK47 or something similar, no sNyPyRz. Our guys really want to get machetes and AKs to do an african death squad roleplay.

    Why not? It would go a long way toward eradicating arcade stuff from dayz. It would be exactly like what you need to do in real life. You can't just attach an optic to a rifle and have it point where the bullets go. You need to zero it, to fire and adjust.
  11. Nah, it should rely on players. Spawn roulette is bad. There should be 50 possible spawn locations all along the coast, and it should take a lot to kill yourself.
  12. As said, our mandate is not to win fights, it is to conduct medical experiments and exterminations, as many as possible. This work benefits everyone. The life we save could be yours, calibre. It would plainly go against our interests to provide information to thugs, wreckers, bandits, and griefers who would try to interrupt our important work. And it's a survival game. It wouldn't be very good survival strategy to give out specifics to people who want to harm us. We don't ask for this kind of information from others. And we follow the golden rule.
  13. I don't quite get the sentiment here. As you can see in the photos, none of our group uses a "sNyPyR" rifle, so the 'cowards' thing seems to miss the mark pretty wide, doesn't it?
  14. If vermin don't cooperate, they need to be exterminated without delay. That is our policy, and it should be yours. Exterminating the spastic vermin is a job in which we can all play our part. If you encounter one these, it needs to be exterminated.
  15. If you do t like server hoppers just go camp somewhere they like to hop into and shoot them. Geez people, find emergent solutions. Don't just moan.
  16. "sNyPyNg" and "sNyPeRz" were the most boring, banal, tedious things in the mod, just like in all video games. I can't think of anything less interesting than camping loot spawns or fighting people who camp loot spawns.

    People should be forced to zero any sights or optics they attach to their rifle. Optics should spawn with a random zero, forcing the player to zero it once attached to a rifle. And we should be forced to make adjustments in quarter MOA or whatever. Probably not doable with the arma engine, but who knows?

    Expect to be wiped once a week while its in alpha. manage your expectations, otherwise you'll just be disappointed and won't have any fun.
  20. The only acceptable measure is to increase the stakes for dying. The high stakes of being killed is what prevents "pvp" in real life.

    We all use m4s because many of our targets are spastic vermin who zig zag and desync around, often trying to punch our guys. And revolvers because they are so cool in the game. I can't tell you how many times i've heard over the TS "Hey, I found one, got one, its over here, by the ------" then "BOOM" in the game... and add another tally mark...

    I believe the original rationale was that the players in DayZ were on a boat and they came ashore.
  23. This is new! The OP figured out how to be wrong in a bunch of different colors. Usually on here people are just wrong in one color.
  24. Today's work is done! 51 exterminations carried out, we found another target right after hitting the quota. The running total is 364. I can confirm the baseball bat is a poor weapon. We encountered hostile gunfire today on three occasions. On the first occasion, a cowardly wrecker, bandit, and thug attempted to shoot one of our group from a hidden place. He missed and we lived to fight another day. On the second occasion, one of our group was wounded in the leg by a maniac vermin with a pistol. It was exterminated immediately. On the third occasion, a rat with a mosin nagant rifle tried to fire at us at close range and injured one of our members in the leg. It was exterminated by the others with prejudice. The wounded heros recieved prompt medical attention and both recovered fully. Photos of the work to come.
  25. DayZ is a game which requires trust in order to work together. It is unthinkable we would accept anyone we didnt trust.
