I'd say at least 350, if you count recent spawns who have picked up a hat or a backpack or something too. -
The best thing you can do if you encounter one of them is to exterminate it.

You guys forget the simple truth that everyone in the game who isn't your friend is your enemy. Survival means making self interested choices. Exterminating competition, exterminating threats, exterminating vermin. -

Just a simple jerry can and some matches would be great. Gasoline should be force feedable of course, but the real fun would be handcuffing them and then burning.

Combat Logging is a huge issue, even from the mod.

The trick is to kill them before they can log. -
Exterminating them is a public service. These things would take food from your mouth, take ammo from your gun, take weapons from your hands, would be hitting you with a hatchet, would be training zombies on to you, etc etc. They can't be allowed to escape the extermination zones.

According to the talley we are up to 447 successful exterminations. -
You sometimes get shot at while you're exterminating new spawns... It's still a rush.

You play the game you have though, not the game that will be ready in a year. DayZ Early Alpha is what it is, and to be the best at it you need to need to use all the tools in your tool box.

There is an argument to be made for it, but for the sake of this discussion, lets set it aside and say that since they use things which aren't available to everyone, and which are forbidden by the terms of service, that it's an apples and oranges situation.

Yeah, when I got to shoot one, the feeling in your sinuses, lungs, etc from the pressure was a bit more impressive than the recoil. We were just out in the desert shooting some rocks and stuff for the heck of it. Didnt have any trouble firing it from the shoulder standing, recoil-wise. It's more unpleasant to shoot normal bolt action rifles, in my opinion, from a recoil perspective.

"balance" is the ugliest word in the English language when applied to video games. It has no place at all being applied to something like DayZ, which specifically aspires to be something different.

And isn't there just a bit of ugly irony in a post that talks about being 'on a hell in elektro', 'being one of the best dayz players,' calling people 'pussies', and also getting beat, all at the same time? Hmm? Surely the rankings of 'good dayz players' goes something like: People who can beat ghost warriors > ghost warriors > people who ghost warriors beat > fresh spawns who punch eachother > people on hills at elektro > ... etc?
