What do you think of fresh spawns being able to punch?
wgaf replied to Chungmugong's topic in General Discussion
They can punch you, you can shoot them. Preferably shoot them before they try to punch you. It is our policy to exterminate these things before they get a chance to punch anyone. You're welcome. -
Anarchy is just another word for "clan wars." That's rocket's vision, anarchy.

Beet Market
-
It probably is, but laws vary from place to place. It is a moral right in all times and places. It speaks to people's moral character.
-
Poor thing. Maybe you should wait until the alpha is over to play it, if this is so upsetting.
-
Exactly, and Rocket and the other developers have a moral right to enforce their vision of the game, since it is their property and they created it. People who violate their moral rights are wrongdoers. They're liars as well, given that they're people who can't be trusted to keep their word.
-
If you are kicked for that, its very important that you report the scumbags who run the server so it can be taken down.
-
No person with integrity and character can assault the moral rights of the developers to manage their intellectual property as they choose. Purchasing a licensed copy of DayZ or renting a server does not entitle you to make derivative works or to alter certain things in the game. Nor does it entitle you to have any say in how a server you rent is run. You are paying for the ability to restart the server, change its name, set the time, and the message of the day. That's it, that's the consideration you get in return for your payment. For example, each person who rents a server agrees not to kick or ban players. Anyone who does is a liar, and guilty of violating his agreement and breaking his word. Just because you can get away with stealing something from someone doesn't make it the right thing to do. In just the same way, just because you can get away with violating the moral rights of intellectual property holders doesn't make it the right thing to do.

Gear is the only thing that sets one player apart from another. There is no character progression in the game yet, nothing except gear at the moment.

How many people do you kill in a life on average?
wgaf replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
20-30 probably. -
The sanity punish isn't for KOS, its for having to read these awful ideas over and over and over.

Cannibalist Enforcers? when can we expect it?
wgaf replied to imjustatourist's topic in General Discussion
It's hard to find a higher priority issue than cannibalism. it should be put in before hunting animals. -
I have an idea for helping with the KOS problem. Rocket should read.
wgaf replied to Rzach's topic in General Discussion
The only viable "solution" to the "kos problem" is to drive the bawlers and moaners off the game. -
The devs have too much self respect to allow that kind of abomination.

Being Able To Carry 2 Rifle Sized Guns Would Be Nice
wgaf replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
When was the last time you tried running with a couple of rifles slung? -
The only reliable places to get them are the unnamed ghost towns in the extreme north west of the map.
-
We do genuinely heroic work. Both in the field of medical experimentation and also in the field of depopulation. The life we save could be yours. The vermin simply mustn't be permitted to leave the extermination zones.

Being Able To Carry 2 Rifle Sized Guns Would Be Nice
wgaf replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
If they are going to let people be super soldier cyborgs who carry multiple weapons, the least they can do is add a weight penalty. For instance, if you have two rifles, you can not sprint or run, only ever walk. -
If they make some kind of character progression where your guy gets better or healthier over time, it will be a reason never to let any captive live, since killing it will set back its progress and replace it with a weaker, less developed foe.Exterminating what you can is always the right choice. The object is survival. If you can successfully restrain and rob a target, it is preposterously wrong not to exterminate it afterwards.
-
Less lethal stuff would be ideal for our work, especially if they put in jerry cans that let you light things on fire.
-
Bandits by definition steal. We have no interest in the belongings of extermination targets and experimentation subjects. We want their lives. Moreover, many of them have no belongings at all. I do confess a weakness for collecting books, however, and have on occasion taken possession of a book which used to belong to one of them.

We are the DayZ Hero Society Kamyshovo Medical Division. We have a mandate from the former government to conduct medical experimentation and a program of extermination. The zombie apocalypse stiffened our resolve. The talley is at 453 exterminations successfully carried out by our group at this point.
-
This is my guy, on the left. Day Z Hero Society Medical Division standard issue vest and sidearm. That pic was taken moments before a target was successfully exterminated.

The hunger and thirst, full, vomit, system begs the question. And urine and feces are already in the game data according to a post a couple days ago. The real question is whether they draw the line at force feeding people windex, or take it to its proper conclusion. I think that force-feeding feces should cause an immediate vomit reaction in the game. They should also allow you to collect sea water and force feed it.

Reading these tedious boring wrongheaded moans for 'no more kos' are what makes people lose their sanity.
