    Pending Update 1.7.1 Details

All of these tears are just scrumptious. Gamma glitching is gone. Disconnecting during a firefight is no longer safe. Zombies are more dangerous. Cry, my sons. It sustains us.
  2. YES Anything that adds difficulty to the mod gets my vote. The Mak is a pea-shooter! For those who are arguing that it gives incentive to bandits to take out freshly spawned noobs, consider this: What chance does a player with a Makarov really have against a bandit with a DMR anyway? (Don't cave into the carebears!)

It shall not punish gameplay styles

I appreciate that people have different opinions about banditry and PvP. That being said, I think that people on both side of the fence need to sit back and let the game develop organically. We're in the beginning stages of Day-z right now--it's too early to make big decisions. I also applaud rocket for experimenting by adding and removing elements like the bandit skin. The reason I like Day-z (personally) is that it forces ME to adapt to IT, instead of vice versa. It's truly a successful survival simulator in this regard. I sincerely hope rocket doesn't cave to either side in this discussion.

    Server Hosting quick FAQ

How do we get an invite to the google group, Ander? I've tried PMing you and chatting in IRC to no avail.

    Devz, get your shit together.

Ignore the haters. I think you guys are doing a good job with limited resources.

    DayZ Build 1.6.0 Rolling Update

I sent off an email... here's hoping I can get my skin fixed. :(
  7. I'm seeing a lot of complaints from people about the mod turning into a "deathmatch" and that there are no longer any players who work together. Stop being socially awkward. Get people's steam IDs, join a team-speak, and/or wrangle up real life friends. Form a relationship and stop expecting complete strangers to be reliable. Who would you rather surround yourself with in a zombie apocalypse? Just because you are too lazy or shy to get to know other players is not the fault of anyone but your own.

Want to host a DayZ Server? Read in here.

I'm thinking of running a Los Angeles server--to my knowledge, there isn't one yet. Is it recommended to run dual Xeons for a single 50 slot server, or should I be ok with just 1 CPU?

    DayZ Build 1.6.0 Rolling Update

I picked female and I've reverted back to the male skin. Are we going to have a chance to pick again, due to the fact that this is a bug?

    1.6.0 Stuck as male

Same. SLC1. Picked female, stuck as a male.

    Pending Build Progess: 1.5.9

You guys are some self-entitled, snot-nosed punks. This is a FREE mod in ALPHA. He will get it done when he gets it done. In the mean time, enjoy the fruits of his labor and report bugs as you encounter them.

    Day Z...WAS.....fun

Get some friends to play with--ones you can trust? Also, num num carebear tears.
  13. Is there any reason we can't have zombies like this? Looks like they've already been coded into Arma2, by someone else.
  14. I have now spawned at least four times, on different servers, inside of a house in Novy Sobor. I wanted to know if this was recently added as a spawn point or if my player ID is somehow bugged?
  15. What... I don't even... You're kidding right? You think difficulty is bad game design? Take, for example, Demon Souls are Dark Souls--two very highly acclaimed PS3 titles that are notorious for their punishing difficulty. They are excellent games, because they create immersion and force the player to constantly re-asses dangerous situations. Maybe you should go back to Hello Kitty Island, as Day-z is not the mod for you.

    Bandit/Survivor Morphing to be removed

If I was murderous and trying to survive in the zombie apocalypse by shooting other people, I would dress as inconspicuously as possible and try to charm people before stabbing them in the back... just sayin'. I, for one, support the new skin system.
  17. What if environment doesn't affect temperature gauge, but rather proximity to corpses and zombies does? It would effectively become an "infection" meter. Once you hit a certain threshold, you got sick.
  18. Seriously, I understand the premise, and I think it's a good one. However, the implementation is hugely flawed. I logged in and immediately began hunting for matches and wood. Within less than 30 minutes, I'm already coughing and my vision is shaking. At this point, I don't even want to play the game any more. Running around with 6000 blood, annoying coughing sound and screen shake just totally ruins the experience. Don't penalize people for being outside. There should be incentive to get out and explore.
