Hey, When I die it takes around 15-20minutes to re spawn, my computer just stays at "Loading....." then 20minutes later "CHOOSE YOUR GENDER!" Why is this? I love this game but wow, Every death I rage and go off :/

I had this problem a while back, make sure your Dayz is up to date. I'd recommend that you use Dayz Commander, this program will update your files and game to the correct version, It's pretty simple I'd highly recommend it. As for getting started, I'm pretty new to. i've been playing for 2-3 days now and I haven't found a weapon, quite dissapointed in this game to be honest. Seems like one of those games where you have to play hours on end, and I die in stupid ways. E.G Falling out of the map :/

Hey, I have a fairly decent computer. Better than most computers out there. Heres my specs: CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 processor 3.00 GHZ RAM: 8GB Ram Although running 32bit OS (Technically I'm limited to 3.4gb) GFX CARD: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 460 Sound Card: NVIDIA HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO OS: Windows Vista - 32bit Internet Connection: http://www.speedtest.net/result/2113057422.png I purchased Dayz yesturday and I love it, the only thing which really puts me off is the amount of Lagg which I recieve. In first person mode it's absolutely terrible, some times my FPS is ok and sometimes it isn't. I'm not sure what my FPS exactly is but it isn't smooth at all. This is exactly why I hate PC Gaming, You need the best computer to play any game. I spent around £500 on this computer :/ Anyone have any tips on how to make it smooth? I literally have every other program turned off while playing, I use game booster to increase my FPS also. Anyone have any recommended settings? I set every to Very Low and it's still laggy. Sometimes it's ok on High. All help is appreciated.

Does your character save in every server you go too? I was reading a previous thread and someone mentioned that they would like to play there character for a long time, I thought when you left the server it all got deleted. Is that the reason why I keep dieing when I enter every server?

When I join some servers it takes like 10minutes for me to respawn, is this the spawning time by default or by the server settings?

I do & half the time I spawn in dead -.-

Hey, Im pretty new to Dayz but I just had my first game and I am truly a noob. I started off with no weapons and 10 seconds later, zombies started running at me and I ran for atleast 10minutes and they are still behind me. I have a couple questions: How do I get weapons? How do I switch to third person view? I've checked the key bindings, doesnt say anything about the view.

Been playting this game for nearly 3hours and all I've been doing is running... Literally. I cant a town and im like YES! Then i find out i cant open any doors and there is nothing about, so then i run for another 20minutes to try find another town. I see all theres youtubers with M4A1's and sniperes and ghillie suits, how da fuck do i get that stuff? :L

Hey, every time I die I have to wait around 15-20minutes to respawn. It takes absoultely ages. It just says Loading with a black screen then 15mins later says chose your gender. How can I resolve this?

It takes me 15minutes to get in and I have a pretty decent computer, i7 processor etc.

Anyone know the solution/

Hey, Recently I've been seeing a lot of videos on youtube of Dayz gameplay and I've been ignoring it, but just a second ago I sat down and watched a Dayz video. It looked incredibly insane and I want to play. I hear this "Dayz" is a Mod, what is it exactly? How is it different form the original game, looks the same to me. Also, If I were to spend money to play Dayz, what would I need to buy and how much would it cost? This is coming from a noob, but I appreciate your help! Cheers.

Hi, I just recently Installed Dayz and I followed this: 1. Download both ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead through Steam 2. Open both of the games to allow them to install the required files, then close them 3. Download all of the DayZ Mod files into a folder (this is now only 1 file, rather than 7) 4. Make a folder named "@DayZ" in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead (or your Operation Arrowhead base folder) 5. Then make a folder inside "@DayZ" named "Addons" 6. Paste all of the downloaded files inside the "Addons" folder 7. Extract all of the downloaded files 8. Go to Steam and right click, properties, set launch options on ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead 9. Insert "-mod=@dayz -nosplash" and click OK 10. Open Operation Arrowhead and select to "Launch ARMA 2: Combined Operations" When I try to connect to Operating Arrowhead it gives me an error and closes instantly "Bad Serial code given at startup" or something along them lines. Am I doing this correctly? I've purchased my game off steam.

Can you play Offline also? And is there cheats in the game? Could I play solo offline and give myself a sniper etc.

So I have to work to get equipment etc. Does all of this save and I can return this save another day? What happens if the server crashes etc, who owns the servers?

i Can I go online? Do I get weapons etc, do they save ?
