What to do after you have the best gear?
[email protected] replied to wellwellwell's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Put a really great spot for a tent put all your gear in the tent and run into new spawn area and see how it goes, see what you end up with and head back to your tent and gather more supplies. You can never have enough ammo and never have enough food just collect and store items, get a nice vehicle an keep it fresh all green an fully fueled most of the time, find a heli, meet new people, maybe make some friends or enemies. Theres endless things to do, you just gotta do what you want. -

Being a Lone wolf, you should consider it.
[email protected] replied to mitor's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I like that lone wolf feeling. bobbin around on your own is a lot harder, i play with a group sometimes its just 2 of us or it could be 7 of us, we just had a new guy join us whos a friend of a dayz friend, he had a warm welcome to the group but had it easy. So i see you point lone wolfing is good, but being in a team is also good, i suppose it does get boring really quick but we figured that out and now go on foot more often to make a 10 min drive into a half hour run, just makes it a bit more intense. Anyways i like lone wolfing and dont disagree with it, its harder and can be more fun. -

DayZ standalone inventory mock-up.
[email protected] replied to colekern's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think it actually looks ok, i could live with it. If its possible i think they should put it in the mod to let us get a feel of how it all works cuz it took a while to figure it out in the mod lol -

Is it worth picking DayZ up before standalone?
[email protected] replied to Korvenffs's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The best purchase i made was getting Arma 2: CO for dayz, dont get me wrong Arma2 is a good game but DayZ is well worth it -
Admins that spawn stuff to be "Helpful". Yes or no?
[email protected] replied to IcyZ's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well if you lose gear due to a server error and the admin re gives you that gear you had held on to, thats not a bad admin. Thats a helpful one, ive only had one helpful admin though, i have seen alot of admin abuse too. -
This mod is only in "Alpha" and is one of the best games i have ever played due to its intense expierences and fun drives up north, when you pitch a tent and fill it with ammo and food and clear towns from the walkers, bandits and grab a whole lot of beans, you just get that nice feeling knowing you have survived another day. I am looking forward to what the standalone will bring, i hope it will be out soon but i dont mind waiting as the mod is still what i was looking for, ive been playing for over 6 months and still i find my self drawn to the game every day. Im not the only one i know that! Im high and ramblin but i wanted to share some thoughts. Peace - StonerC

Are Zombies attracted to where a gun is fired, or the user of that gun?
[email protected] replied to Shrapnell's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I would love dayz to be as much like the walking dead as others. But i think with the arma 2 engine they cant make dayz perfect, im pretty sure they attract to the player who fired, you could fire a gun and be able to get of there but the AI system isnt the best. I have some serious high hopes for the standalone. -
But in dayz i have never been eaten by zombies just punched so im confused of to how zombies would eat animals, there is that animation of a zombie looking like he is eating i suppose that could work somehow, i love this idea especially after watching last weeks the walking dead.

one thing that bugs me about pvp whiners..
[email protected] replied to Rifle Eyez's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes its a game, IRL if it EVER happened i think that mankind will build stronger and civilize to save one an other in a fight for survival you shouldnt have to worry about 12 year olds with M107s camping on a sniper hill. Anywayyy about the game, the best moments in dayz is player interaction, coming across a group of 3 guys an im with a group of 4 we have a little chat while every man is in cover not knowing what was going to happen next, we ended up trading a few things and parting ways, i felt good that day, as i thought that the standalone should bring a lot more expierences like that, i think bandts should play a role properly, being a cold blooded murderer is not being a bandit. I do hope the SA fixes KoS, bandits are what make the game that little bit more intense at the moment zombies are not a high threat but i still enjoy clearing out each town, looking for my next tin of beans and pack of trail mix. -
I have 3 camp spots, 2 have only ever been found on one server i still use them on other servers with out a worry, i would reveal those but then it would be telling, i will give a rough where abouts, black lake, very annoying spot to get to but tent is pretty invisible, above kamyshovo (starter tent, basic guns and loot) amazingly this is the one of 3 that aint been found, and one near novy lug :) enjoy Just look for the right spot for YOU and were you think nobody will look, make sure theres a land mark to work from near by otherwise you can very easily lose your own tent, if your a stoner -.- lol

Your Paranoia ISN'T uncalled for
[email protected] replied to Shrapnell's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Some good advice to the "bambis" I for one always have back up whilst playing, teaming up with 1 or plenty of people is your best answer to alot of problems. Im constantly paranoid, and if i see a player acting suspicioully or i see them kill someone i will shoot, i always shoot the head scarf wearers which isnt always the best option as they may be friendly but had no choice but to kill people. -

Does the Arma 2: Complete Collection make a difference?
[email protected] replied to Torano's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
All you need is arma 2 and arma 2 combined operations, and yea you get high res textures with the complete collection! Its well worth it! If your considering getting dayz i recommend DayZ Commander, its easy to install dayz and it works with steam. I hope you enjoy dayz! -
Arma3 Alpha release potential Impact on Dayz Mod/SA
[email protected] replied to OrLoK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In my opinion, i think BI released Arma3 early to earn more money because a lot of dayz fans will buy it and the standalone. I think that the SA will be awsome, im interested in arma 3, if they do port the DayZ mod i will be a happy chap even if the dont Arma3 its self is a good game espicially for an alpha. Arma3 should have no impact on the SA, we have all beem amped up for the standalone. i didnt even know about arma3 since yesterday when my Dayz squad asked if i wanted to play it. Standalone for the win! -
So...How long until a DayZ ARMA 3 port?
[email protected] replied to leviski's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think it will be ported, they got wasteland and dynamic zombie sandbox -
The mechanic: Fixed a vehicle a place to live: pitched a tent I hate that hill: killed 5 bandits on elektro "sniper hill" I love bacon: cooked and ate bacon
