This might help: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=107825.0 when you get to the part about installing mods (using six updater) make sure you only install and check the @dayz mod not the other files it will download or you will have problems joining a few servers. if you happen to install the other mods just delete them from you games folders. you don't need to launch six after that you can launch using steam

Receiving Data, then crash back to server browser

This happened to me until I re-installed Battleye try and see if it works -
are you launching CO? right click on OA > launch Combined Operations

Stuck on "receiving data" on every server

this happened to me alot. It can be one of several things: make sure you are launching Combine Ops Check that Battleye is installed it could also just be the server is overloaded and can take a while. try giving it a bit longer to respond. -
This might help running on steam version: right click on OA and > launch combined operations if that doesn't work or no option is listed you might need to add you game key to steam and download the steam version.

Hey might be a stupid question but have you installed battleye? or checked that it is installed properly?
