I think SKS everywhere is more accurate. The only weapons I've not seen mass spawn are Mosins and AKs. Found an AK-74u in one of the barracks at the NWAF though when every other building there had bugged loot spawn.

I just take what cans I can find, and hope I run across a pond on my travels. If I hop in to a server that's raining I just fill my bottles and canteen up.

One thing I thought of was a kind of garbage collection process running in the background. Not sure of whether or not it'll be possible, but each item of loot has an ID, spawn time and server generated hash for that time, and have the garbage collector check for valid hashes, and remove any invalid items that have been spawned via hack tools or whatnot, and if they are being duplicated then check for duplicate IDs/hash.

His settings are 1360x768 across all 3 (I set his PC up for him, and I doubt he's gonna check this thread any time soon). I don't think he means he was surprised to meet friendly Germans. More he was surprised to meet friendly people at all. One of the most unfriendly people I've met in game was an English guy.

Was in Novo tower last night. The place was filled with guns. The server I was in must have had about 30 weapons in it. Once room had 3 double barrel shot guns in, 2 sporters, an SKS, a pump action shotgun, a CR527, and 3 pistols.

It's 100m if you can fit a single person/zombie in between the thick black line and centre of the crosshair, 200m for two people and so on. You can also guestimate against doors, as a player is roughly 3/4 the height of a door. But with 0.50 release, may as well just find a rangefinder.

If vitamins are what they're concerned about then there's even multi vitamins in game too.

Going from moderately peckish to dying of starvation in the span of 30 minutes is over the top, but being able to sprint none-stop for 10km in 40 mins isn't? Obviously the hunger system is relative to the average length of time per gaming session.

On which server? I've practically lived in Berezino for about a month at one point on various servers and majority of players were just looting and didn't want trouble. I handled the handful of bandits who were trying to give the place a badname, but I wouldn't say there was PVP. I put a stop that the time I was there.

I was in Berezino and heard shots coming from the apartment blocks. Saw some zombies running in, so went to investigate. The shots stopped and I thought he may have logged out. Went to search the shopping centre and heard flies round a dead body coming from the apartment blocks, so thought the guy I heard shooting had died. Went to look for his body, which was on the top floor. As I entered the room the noise was coming from, I saw a guy prone in a ghillie suit. I had my 1911 out and managed to get a headshot. He got a few shots on me, but didn't kill me just got my blood down to around 6k. Searched his body and got some NVG, GPS, silenced M9, DMR etc etc. Thought I best get out of the city as he may have had a friend nearby or be on his way back. Went through the industrial part of Berezino further north. Agroed a few zombies, and tried to hide in a fuel station to fight them off. Got knocked down and killed. The 5 or 10 mins I had with an NVG and GPS was quite fun though.

Can we not have bandit morphing as a server option i.e. disabled or enabled? Servers can opt for first and third person (though iirc wasn't first person set to be mandatory at some point?) and crosshairs, both of which aren't realistic if you use them.

I think it would be possible to check if it's a player executed alt+f4, or the client has actually lost connection, so I imagine you wouldn't be affected, but I'm not sure if that's possible in DayZ.

Thanks. I had a quick play with 1.7.2.2 before and couldn't get any meat. Only just got back home now to test it with .3 now.

Did you try getting meat off the cow?

The same pulsating when you need to take painkillers/morphine?

It doesn't. I can't get any raw meat off animals.

The servers running this version will still save progress as normal. That's what the warning is about with not being bothered if you lose any gear, or not.

If all 5 people were in the wilderness then Zombies wouldn't have spawned yet. Personally, I think the noise/sight and the agro distance should be reverted back to what they used to be, with the exception that the noise/sight levels of prone stay as they are.

You can find them in churches too. Found one in Novy Sobor yesterday in the church there.

So I reached Polana last night. I checked out the building next to the supermarket to check if anyone was in there. There was a tank trap in the main entrance to it, so figured someone had been around recently, but couldn't tell if someone was still around. I snuck round to the side entrances, but there was another tank trap in the doorway, and at this time a zombie had agroed, so I made my way back to the house next to the supermarket to take care of the agro, when I heard what I thought was someone else nearby. I wasn't sure at first until I started making my way back to the supermarket, but the opposite way round. I was crouch walking when all of a sudden a DMR shot rang out from nearby. I hadn't a clue where it came from, just it must have been from the supermarket, so I ran to hide. I didn't see anyone, so made my way back to the supermarket and hid in the garden behind the fence surround the supermarket. Zombies were agroing someone, and a Winchester rifle shot one. I still couldn't see anyone. I lay there hidden for some more time when I heard shots in the distance from yet another weapon. I head in the direction they came from, but again found nobody, so returned to the supermarket and slowly went inside and found nobody. That DMR shot that fired out scared the hell out of me. I could feel my heart pounding my ribcage. I used a heart rate monitor app and my pulse was at about 120bpm haha.
