Killed my first bandit/player today. I'd been hanging around Berezino for a few days now. Not seen many players there. Logged in today and headed over to the military tents, but nothing of interest was there. As I was heading up to the supermarket, I heard gunshots from the apartment blocks. Got binocs out and saw zombies running to the blocks, so I knew which building the shots were coming from. I scouted out the building waiting for the player to leave, but nothing after 10 mins, so thought I'd check the supermarket out. As I got in to the supermarket, I heard the faint noise of flies on a dead body, and figured the guy in the apartment block must have died, so I went in to the apartment block I heard the gunshots from. I slowly made my way to the top floor, and to the room the noise of flies were coming from and there I saw a player in a gillie suit prone. I had my 1911 out and without thinking I put 3 rounds in to his head and received a couple of shots myself and fell unconscious. I'd lost 8000 blood, but wasn't bleeding heavily, and by the time I got up, I had enough time to bandage myself etc. The bandit died, and had some nice stuff on him like NVG, GPS, Coyote backpack etc. I wasn't greedy with what I took, just the backpack, the tools, and food he had on him to get my blood back up. Weapons I wasn't too fussed about, so I hid the body and got out of Berezino as fast as I could. I didn't have the blood levels to defend myself any further, and thought he could be on his way back, or may have sent any nearby friends over to his body. When I found safety in a nearby forest, I got a fire lit and some meat cooked up. Looked at the map now I have a GPS and he's marked some POIs that seem important to him over to the West, so going to have a look at these. I've been playing this game for nearly 2 months now, and this is the first time I've killed a player. They say the first player kill is the hardest

Hotfix Build 1.7.1.5 Rolling Update

Zeds still spawn a bit too fast. I was at Rog and killed the three zombies there while I was on the ground floor of the main building. I walked outside to begin to leave Rog and all 3 zombies had spawned again already in about 30 seconds. The noise/visibility ratings could do with a bit of tweaking I think, some are a bit too excessive. Annoying that prone still gives you 1 noise rating, but I guess we can't crawl around invisible everywhere. -

No it hasn't. Where's the fun if when you just die, you just skip over to your tent and pull out some items and carry on? I don't mind dying. I like going to Cherno/Elektro to try and find some stuff before going out in to the wild. -

This. Previously when playing things like Star Wars Galaxies Emu, full character wipes for very much plentiful, couldn't really make any progress. I think we've had it good on here with this being the first kind of a wipe since I started playing beginning of May. -

Actually I think ppl like you dont understand how this is meant to work. Typically like every patch before' date=' this patch is completely broken.... it lasted 10 minutes on our servers before we rolled back. How about you stop being so f'n arrogant and incompetent and TEST THE CHANGES YOU MAKE, what kind of programmer changes a bunch of code, introduces new features when its meant to be a hotfix and just throws it out there for ppl to test that don't really know what you are trying to achieve..... You're so backward in your method, never testing you own changes is going to cause you sooo much delay and many headaches. http://imgur.com/oI5FN,VHuhP#0 You need to come to the realization that although you have a great concept/idea that you are not competent to expand it (in many ways).... you need ppl that understand your idea that can do the job properly and thoroughly and how have an understanding of what features work and are viable.... because Rocket you don't. [/quote'] He does test the changes, but there's a massive difference in testing it in the office with a handful of people to ~70,000 people testing it at once. Rocket has stated plenty of times before that bugs have only appeared once it's been pushed out. So yea, the game is alpha. It's bugs galore whether you like it or not. The updates are frequent. It's not like we're gonna be sat around with 1.7.1.2 for about 2 weeks. The last few patches have been pretty rocky, but they're adding completely new features. Melee, for example, isn't even a native system to ARMA 2, so if you thought everything would run smooth then you have no idea what alpha is. We are the testers. If you can't understand that then you need to stop running a server(s). -
I hope it's soonish. It would certainly make it more enjoyable to play with this update.

Make it random what you spawn with, so you maybe lucky and have a gun, or may have nothing at all. Have a timer though on the items you spawn with, so people don't just respawn until they get a good roll. -
I found a bike in Dolina tonight. I knew riding it through town was a bad idea, but didn't think it would be as noisy as it was. Alerted every zombie in a 20 mile radius or something, rode round the corner and hit something, so that was the end of that 10 seconds of fun. Spent the next 20 mins inside a building fighting off about 30 zombies.

"Sanity" like in Amnesia: Dark Descent

I had an idea about something similar just now while playing. Last night I read a thread about how one guy doesn't see at all why he should team up with people when he can do everything himself. The idea I had for sanity, which I also based my idea on from Amnesia, was as well as losing sanity when you sit in the dark, see zombies etc, but also from loneliness. The longer you're in the wilderness, the more sanity you lose from being alone. I don't think it should have too much of an impact on playing though, as I know there's plenty of people who are perfectly happy with going about it all lone ranger style, but I think as sanity levels drop then things such as hearing noises etc should be more apparent. -
It's like that at Rog. Some days I can find a load of ammo and food, as well as maybe wood, watch, flashlight, tent, etc. Other days it's just empty cans and empty bottles, or either completely empty.

No longer use the sea for water? This'll make things interesting. I've yet to find any other water source, haha.
