Did you find a map in game? You need to find an actual map in game to be able to view it.

Loving all the responses people are giving with the 'Waiting for server response' yet it was stated by the dev team this isn't a current issue. Clearly is for a lot of people.

This is quite true, in fact we're not paying him at ALL. This is a mod after all. I do think it's a bit annoying that he says dates like they are for certain but then doesn't hold them. If he'd say he'd TRY to release it a certain day, or hell even a "When it's fucking finished" I wouldn't really mind. But with a set date like that the anticipation is terrible! Me want it nao. Annoying yes, however I think people have to realise that there doesn't appear to be any structured development process externally and it is more of a cause of prototyping randomly with no prior specific fixes/implementations in mind or at least with no severity ratings.. Seems to be more of a take it as it comes.

I know quite a few people who are - sadly, from the sounds of things this won't be resolved until Arma 2 Beta.

heh, I don't think Rocket needs any lessons on the development industry... as I understand he is an old hand. I didn't say he needed it, it was an offer. Companies who provide RLT Software don't do so on a one man team. Microsoft isn't a one man team. Productivity grows with help. The help I was offering was also Server racks in multiple countries for free for a good period of time. I've been developing real time critical software for longer than I care to imagine and I would never turn down help. I can understand if he does due to an attempt at making a name for himself to possibly further his career (that is more than understandable) but again, I was offering more than actual 'development industry help' :)

There has been a lot of features added but again I'm curious as to what is being implemented or done with about the current situation with the server connection, i.e. 'Waiting for server response..'? Not to beat a dead horse, I'm genuinely curious - if it is a server/DB over load issue then the server hosting the DB could be scaled outwards. I dont know the actual issue with the server connections as I have not read much about it but would love to hear feedback. If it is a grey area and no-one knows what the issue is or how to fix it I'd like to offer some advice or help (Software Engineer). I doubt you need it - but it seems to be a large issue at the moment which isn't being addressed(?) Cheers. P.S - I'm not trolling :)

There is a lot of issue with joining servers and actually being able to play to even see these fixes. I was wondering - what is the actual cause of many of the connection issues? i.e. 'Waiting for server response'.. etc. Is it an issue with an overloaded DB? if so perhaps it should be scaled outwards to handle more load? If the issue is money I'm sure people won't mind contributing to a few servers etc to scale the DB out so more of us can play.

I remember reading that servers were rigging the time to freeze and this caused issues for zed respawns etc. Under this assumption it would seem the implementation is that the servers are in a time sync with the DB - could there not be a 'real time' and a 'game time' they could both run side by side then? So it would be an option? -

From looking at that information the huge concern appears around the connecting to an actual game. I would assume if this whole connection issue is resolved the game rating section would sky rocket up. -

I think the idea of a controllable radio tower for broadcasts is a good idea. I'm not so sure about the 'shout out' type of global broadcast however. I like how it can lead to exciting things, news, traps, help etc but it is not very realistic as to what this MOD is about.. By real I mean contacting someone over the internet to broadcast this info to everyone. The realistic idea would be to have a controllable radio station which whoever controls this controls what is announced by them. Just my views. Sounds cool either way.
