Yeah with an AS50 from 3m away I am. If you're over 800m I'm not. :) Was my own fault I should have switched to my silenced M4...I've gotten that used to players ALT/F4ing that I kept my AS50 out wanting to take him out in 1 shot so he cant DC. Totally didnt expect him to rush my ass!

Hi guys, seen this all over the forums but I thought I'd post this too, hopefully getting the point across. So a couple days ago, before patching up, still using 1.7.4 I logged out in Novy Sobor. About an hour later I logged in on the coast at Komarovo with all my gear. Thats cool, not too bothered really. (This was all before 1.7.5 was released). So the next day I updated to 1.7.5 logged in fine at night just too see the skin changes. It was 2am after work so I only stayed on for 2 minutes. Everything worked fine, I was a dirty ole bandit. Today I get stuck at loading, and I've tried probably for about an hour at different times to log in with no luck. I've not got past the 2nd loading screen before Set-up Complete. Also I now have little or NO servers in my browser. I'm not using six launcher, I've updated both patches manually since early April with every install working fine before this one. I'm running the latest patch. 1.7.5 with the latest Arma 2 Beta 95883.

Ok just an update. I've tried this morning @ 11:30am GMT and my server browser is still broken, giving me the options of either RU/PL/JP or AU servers. I did manage to join a UK server by typing the IP Address and Ports in manually and it worked first time. Loading was faster than ever before and the zombie animations are great. Not too sure if the artifacting has been fixed, but I never suffered with this problem too much in 1.7.4. My fix in 1.7.4 was to turn Vertical Sync on and off again. This worked fine for me.

Hi guys. I have a question for you all. I killed 2 bandits north of Elektro today and on the kill feed it came up saying that I killed them as friendly fire?! I've seen this before and heard rumors it was idiots doing it in the de-bug area before you spawn in. You can see on the video that I wasn't in the de-bug area. I'd been in-game for about 30 minutes, and the initial sniper that I shot was certainly in-game as he shot the dude I was looking at in the fire station. The other dude just spawned in, (I'm guessing it was his mate), so I shot him thinking he was gonna come looking for me. There was also another random guy who ran around just after the shots were made but luckily he didn't see me......close one all round. Just wondered what this friendly fire thing is? Yeah I'm having kind of the same issues. I live in the UK and filter by UK servers most of the time, but all I'm getting are RU PL and AU servers. Thats it. So not only do I now get stuck at "Loading" I can only join servers which are 1000's of miles away from me.

Hi guys. Added a new video to my channel, (my first with commentary so go easy). I come across a team of snipers at Stary Sobor and decide to go and take them out using the set of rules me and my squad have developed over the months of playing this mod. I talk about the tactics we use and what we have learnt from countless hours playing this, which maybe helpful to the new survivors out there. :) like I say in the video I am a bandit, but never shoot at unarmed players OR go anywhere near the coast. If someone is in need of genuine help, I'll help them but generally I'm only friendly to people in my teamspeak or mumble channel. People got hostile from about the 2nd or 3rd week of us playing this. Yeah thanks man. I suppose I could have gone indepth more but I didn't really want to speak too much...just because it was my first attempt at this. And yeah it kinda looks like i get shot, but I wanted to make the sped up parts different than the normal gameplay setting the apart. I'll try and think of a better solution to this next time. :)

Thanks man. Yeah I join pretty much any server my friends are on. I prefer the none "magic hand" servers because I like sitting and waiting for people, and sniping from a distance so concealment is everything to me. I've now got some rangefinders and an AS50 to go with my silenced m4 so I'm sitting and waiting for bait. :) Thanks for your input too. :)

No I had just escaped from Cherno and was shot at. (I had no gun), so decided I'd find a rifle and kill him. I said in the video that I'll try to protect guys coming out from cherno but its really quiet. I am a bandit, don't get me wrong, but I'd never shoot at someone who wasn't armed. A friend killed an unarmed dude near novy the other week and I actually got really pissed off with him. Tried to bandage him and give the dude a transfusion but he respawned before I could. Dude was called Fenris. Still feel bad. :S

Sniper.

The M14 is good for medium and CQ combat but as for sniping, its about as useful as an M4 or AK. I'm set up in a spot 1k away from my targets, which you'll have no chance of hitting with either an M14 or CZ550. I'd say go hunt for some high geared players, or loot some choppers for a 50.cal weapon. You can't beat the AS50 or the M107. If you get far enough away with a 50.cal, you're most likely out of visual range, they can't hear the shot and die on impact, meaning its the perfect anti-disconnect weapon.

Yeah you can see that other people are still dying "normally" without the friendly fire message. I'm sure its hackers because they normally respawn back in, at the same spot with all their loot after being killed by friendly fire.

Yeah, It happened to a mate. He killed him, and went to loot his corpse and the dude repsawned behind him and shot him. Wondered if its some kinda hack to give you unlimited lives maybe?!

Exactly, no flies, and I get no kills. The friendly fire thing isn't server specific, Its not supposed to be in the game.

Yeah, but the dude who I shot had been in for a good 30 seconds. He had time to scout out the fire station and line up his shot, and shoot twice. Then I took my sweet time shooting him, could understand about the second guy as he literally hit the floor, normally I wouldn't shoot someone but I figured his mate would have told him to go after me. Also the dude running about at 3:37 he was lucky I had the 107 in my hand. If the Fal was out he was a gonner. Shit myself!

I use fraps atm and have no problems. Make sure you're not recording to the same drive your running off. Hope you sort it out, I've never had a problem with it tbh.

Take care of it! I loved mine while I had it. Rangefinders to get the perfect zeroing are important. Its actually quieter than a 107, from distance it sounds like a penny dropping compared to the 107. Try to stay in the 600m/1000m range and you're laughing. If you hit, its the PERFECT anti-disconnect weapon. By the time they realise whats happened they're dead.

Hi guys, need a few questions answering about the DMR. So i know its zero'd in at 400m, what im not too sure of is how to use the milldots. Are they 100m increments or 200m? Also is it better to use the milldots with the zoomed in view, or the standard scope view? Do the milldots change between zoomed views? Thanks!

tried youtube man, cant find a good tutorial. Yeah Lobo. I know 400m the centre of the xhair is dead on. But there are 2 zooms on the scope. Are the milldots accurate for both zooms, or is it best to use the zoomed in view to calculate the distance. For example, is something was 600m away, I would raise the scope 2 milldots. But is this accurate on the zoomed view, or the standard view. @snipes007, I dont want to be randomly shooting a DMR anyway while playing DayZ

Yeah I'll admit it too. I alt f4'd once, with a character I had for about 2 weeks. It wasn't so much the weapons and gear I had that made me D/C, but his story, and everything I had gone through to get it. It was kind of grim to know it was coming to an end...... Regretted it though, and the next time I got caught up in a gunfight I took it like a man and fought back, ended up dying but I felt much better for not D/C'ing. I've got 2 people D/C'ing on video recorded from last night when they realised my AS50 was pointing at them. The other 11 haven't been so lucky. :)

I think as long as you have the latest beta update applied, and you're on a server with the latest update too you should be fine. Although I've spawned in the ocean from one before. But also wore one with no problems for 12 days. A friend spawned into the ocean tonight from a camo suit. I'm not going near them until they're safe.
