    Sneaking up behind someone and shooting them and sneaking up behind someone and stabbing them is the same? :lol: Knives are confirmed for SA but they better not use takedowns, i doubt they will and takedowns are terrible. CoD was so damn intense when melee was actually a crazy melee with rifle butts...insta gib melee is one of the worst additions to current shooters.

  5. Yeah...im glad people like this aren't part of it. Good work Rocket and co, never seen such a needy petty crowd of "i want i want" yet they take to time to adress them directly.

  10. No maky on the list? :emptycan: The G17. High cap mag, best sights despite a wide front post (wider MOA at longer distance) but that doesn't matter for the ranges you will usally shoot at. The trijicon style sights draw your eye to the center letting you aquire targets and fire quicker. Good utility with flashlight, semi common ammo + multiple ammo types, it isn't the best player killer in raw damage but high ROF and low recoil offset this. I used to choose the PDW for the different ammo types but after extensive use in PvP and PvE it is horrendous in combat with terrible sights and low damage.

  15. No. I never have a set way to move around. A problem with DayZ mod is there is no tactical pace and walking slowly in an urban enviroment often isn't a good idea. When a good marksman or sniper is smashing Electro from the hills moving quickly from cover to cover is better than creeping around. Especially if you cross a shooters line of fire. Indoors it is better to walk slowly ready to fire from the sights, rather than charging headlong into a narrow arc of fire. It all depends. There is no right or wrong way to move, just better ways for a given situation.
  16. Zombies are slower sounding in their footsteps, footsteps of players are usally quick because most people crouch walk and run in cities. If you want to know if a player is inside a building just wait and listen. You will hear them. Very few ways to be unheard indoors. It's the outside you have to worry about! Players in appartments/pubc/schools can be easily heard from the outside. And if you flee from paraonia and terror you will never master it.
  17. If i'm not in a hurry or think i could be shot when do it i hide every body (dive prone and do it) If i'm looting slowly i hide zombie bodies too.
  18. As a person playing in first person I couldn't play without headphones. In cities they are godly. Life has been saved many times by 3D sound.
  19. Lets rearange this a little. Zombies killed him dammit. He was not just infected one time but twice, thrice, fourth, quad, V, hex, times. This is "stupid", it must be the games fault that he keeps getting infected. (but circle staffing worked soooo good before :( So when a threat increases you want to increase the remedies for the threat so it isn't threatening anymore :lol: Summary: *I havn't played for a while, i lost my gear, gona do the same old stuff *Ohh i can't find stuff anywhere. I want it to be easier to find stuff *This the game is terribad! :thumbsup: And despite the fact the the popularity of an idea is in way indicative of it's truth or how correct it is I do find the current result pleasing to the eyes.
  20. Wrong in theory but in practice as the mod stands... you're wrong again ha! But I would like to qualify this. Take Cormac Mccarthy's The Road. The father and son travel with a gun, two bullets left. He never uses those two rounds because he saving them for himself. Every bullet has meaning as does every decision they have to make. Lets take the scene where the father shoots one of his two bullets in self defense and imagine a similar scene in DayZ. I'm looting and get cornered. I'm panicked, deciding between trying to dodge the zombie or shooting it. Will I alert the horde or other players? I make the decison that concerns my immediate safety. I fire a gun to kill the zombie because I know they have been buffed and are now very dangerous infection monkeys (as they should be). This is where the problems happen. Zombies clip through walls, they run in manic zig zags due to wierd pathing/AI and i cant headshot them because they seem to teleport around the map like Nightcrawler. They hit me through buildings, i'm stuck on some glitch that's causing X,Y,Z to go wrong, i'm infected from 10 meters away, zombies walk in slo in buildings for no good reason, my avatars animation is not ideal to this style of game because DayZ was built using an engine for an open world sim and tried to make a CQB/CQC game...etc..etc... At a glance DayZ mod replicates the oppression The Road but once we look behind the veneer and it's buggy nature is laid bare we have the feeling of a game, rather than actually having one. Making DayZ harder, even super hard, is where it should go but hand in hand with making this experience bug free and with appropriate changes to gameplay. I feel there is no way around this until SA. For now I pretend that i'm playing the best surivial sim ever made. It's also pretty poor reflection on the state of gaming that this buggy mod does a better job of building an emotional connection than most AAA big budget games. tl;dr I think these complaints stem from the dissonance that DayZ is a compelling experience that feels like a game but it is actually a broken buggy mess with mostly undeveloped/unrealised ideas. It should be hard, wait for SA to deliver a hard, bug free, game.

    Standalone animations

    Anmations of the ilk of linear AAA games have always looked better and for the foreseeable future still look better. They simply don't have to conisder to full dynamic range of everything from graphics, animation, enviroments As long as the animations aren't immersion breakers because they look so piss poor I don't mind, so long as the collective experience is convincing enough to overcome asthetic shortcomings. Example: SA when everything comes together. Transitions from prone->slow walk->tactical pace->sprint->vault and zombies finally act as intended, running in straight lines chasing you->leaping at you etc...without the bedlam and randomness of their current pathing. Individual animations won't look smooth and silky like Crysis but the whole package makes it pleasing and authentic. And ARMA could mimic the freedom of movement that TLoU offers. There are mods that offer a wider range of movments than the TLoU has. From vaulting, leaping, climbing, cover systems, half-a-dozen-plus body positions, contextual enviroment interactions...the question isn't if ARMA/DayZ can do it. The question is what does such a system add to the game or does it take away from other more important areas.
