  1. Hey! Timetabs in youtube. Welcome to the first 1.7.7 patch of DZwT. I love this patch. So many questions to be answered. * Are the two randoms being chased by a massive zombie train friendly or not? * How many people does it take to fill a biplane? * Are ever any friendlies in Stary Sober? * High chance of infections and very few antibiotics? Whats the outcome? Does anybody ever share? * What happens when four bandits set upon two dying strangers? Find out and then some and see why 1.7.7 is the best thing to happen to DayZ mod since the DayZ mod. Cheers, comment, like, subscribe, or don't!

  5. Comon yall op, this the most discussed topic but the most discussed topic that never gets new nor will it. KOS is part of the game. But not just this it needs to be part of the game. It is one of the most important threats to the player, both in physical and existential sense. Nobody is compelled to any action in DayZ but most people harbor some basic instinct of self-preservation. The most dangerous competition is that of equal claims to scarce resources. How these claims are staked is what DayZ is so damn good. So many simple classic scenarios, the nature state (natural life is short, brute nasty, cooperation overcomes this) the prisoner dilema (don't know if he is going to betray me first, so i will act first), the tragedy of commons (every person has equal claim to beans the outcome is scarecity/conflict) etc... Nurfing KoS in any fashion is a direct detriment to the game.

    He never said he wanted a higher chance of infection, although the virals will have a higher chance of infection next patch , this isn't the point. If you cannot immediately decipher the type of zombies in a crowd of them this adds to tension, fear of the unkown or if a big threat is lurking close by, therefore fear. This is precsiely why every zombie should not be easy to detect, we have a much boader scope of emotions and the option to asses risk vs reward.

    Hell yeah some models and animation would be nice but done right, sutble differences. Viruals struting walking with more 'confidence', upright where infected who are on the way out slouched. Most zombies would fall in the middle somewhere. Unless they did it this patch im not sure the Xbow zeroing was fixed. It is stupid as hell, it aims high, even at one dozen feet. I don't know why it's bugged, it should be fixed. Best 'fix' i saw was get a non permanat market, aim at a big wall, fire Xbow, put a dot mark on your screen where the puff of the bolt impact is, that is now your 100% accurate Xbow crosshair.

    Why? (ps: they are darker and more bloody) Now the next encounter you will doubt yourself, use a safer zombie disposal option, aim for the head or pay closer attention to the zombies. All of this draws you into the world. Being able to immedatley and accuractly assess every threat, 100% of the time, makes the game boring, sterile and perfunctory. A few problems with this... * Why should any zombie die from an arrow to the chest? Because it's expected due to understanding damage values? Becuase its happened before? 1 hit kill wonder arrows are a bit silly. *Why not aim for the head anyway? You thought you were choosing the low risk->low reward route (easy body shot on normal zombie) but you incorrectly assessed the threat and were punished for it Now thats dynamic, if not damn poetic. It might not be fun but it's an experience, experiences have far more value than fun. A few more of these happenings and you'll be a pro Xbox headshoter. It depends if you value trial & error turning into rich reward & experience or rinse-repeat-Xbow-insta-gib gameplay. I feel DayZ should cater to the former. *Consistenty gauging threat level by different colours or shirts is off putting, not nautral. Why should every different coloured zombie take X or Y amount of damage. Not saying that every zombie should be random, gauging how healthy or "viral" something looks should be done through more means than colour. Making threat assessment in a survival sim take more than a microsecond is probally in the flavor of it.

    Hotfix? Been out of it for a few days, what page or thread has details of the hotfix? Cannot find...threads so long... * [uPDATED] - More reliable loot spawns. Well thats ambiguous :P Appart from that seems good.

    Long guns not worth it

    Depends how your define 'worth it' If you're going survival and playing to last melee and or avoidence are far better choices. Guns do nothing for survival. Annoying and constant micromanagment, the immediate perception of youself as a threat, becon for Zeds and a firefight is never certain...so many bad reasons to pick up a gun. I take long arms for funzies or being a wasteland hero aka bandit hunting.

    Luckily masses of players don't actually get to decide what goes into the game. The devs and rocket do. Feel free to fruitlessly express your dayz destroying opinions here. Where it effects nothing.

    Developer responds to community concern->Gives constant updates on ideas and where patch is heading. Is working close with SA Devs/community to come to a reasonable middleground>Keeps in sensbile features (dangerous zeds), keeps in tackle>trys to make it better less common. And you want to give negative beans. Sorry to rude and for the bad langauge to follow (and any consequences yolo) but f*ck off c**t. OrLoK says: FYI Inception has already dealt with this post.   14. Those examples were not great. Ideally things that don't make sense should be fixed. Bikes should not vanish into air, or a lake or bump a rock and explode. Hopefully they will be fixed, they don't make sense and i wouldn't think it is intentional. Just leftover programming from an understaffed community dev team im guessing. Do i carry things for broken bones IRL? Yes. I carry a mobile phone that can call an ambulance. If im somewhere remote a triangle bandage and basic FA knowledge has to suffice. As for tajjuk whats your middle ground? Lets move this forward (will adress your lengthy points when not passing out from tired) and sorry if i berated anybody, im trying as hard as i can to shift to goalposts so if there is savage compromise it lands closer to my side of the fence. There are legitimate concerns but without engaging with the patch, people retreating from features (therefore without testing or trying to adapt), seemigly due to overly aggressive zombies (which are not perfect but are an improvement in terms of threat level) and less loot, we don't move forward. What would your ideal balance be to create a zombie survival sim, keeping in mind that this is a 'zombie survival sim' directly described by the creator of the mod/game as the anti game. While the mod is undenianbly buggy anybody who isn't getting a sesne of that this is kind of what the game is going to shape into please read a summary of E3 DayZ (ign) Clothing refers to weather resistance(?), more aggresive and faster zombies and running in a straight line won't defeat, jumping zombies that tackle (hmm where have we seen this feature before) and an illness system? Does this sound like a game catering to a fun happy go lucky crowd that dabbles in a bit of causal PvP and non threatening zombies or a game designed to thwart the player at every turn? -bed-

    Wow, the first ingame person i remet on forum (not from lack of trying) I have the first (and really sweet) video of 1.7.7 being processed for upload tommorrow morning...i must say whether or not you were about to die from infection your final stand brought me enough time to escape :) I kept looking back when your CZ rang out until an m16 silenced it...*sniff sniff*

    I had horendous dsync, probally server fault, none of BB servers have the patch yet. Just playing on whatever low ping public i can find. Can't tell if 1.7 causing wierd zombie hits or just plain old DayZ being Dayz. Need more time.

    Appreciate the effort, will address tommorrow but so many points are just wrong. Take a few assumptions and a few outright errors. Bloodbag kick is server side and can be fixed by a server admin for exmaple, scrap this complaint, it will be quickly dealt with...no time to address gameplay but all assumption about player behavior is just that assumption. I had the best session of DayZ in 7 months today. Several hours worth of gameplay. Wall of text long story The patch, despite some MINOR quirks and balancing knockdowns is amazing.

    I think the rate of knockdowns from the front is getting changed but apart from that the patch is brilliant. Don't like it there are many mods and old servers. Enjoy!

    Attacked by rotten, bloody, slowly decomposing, human flesh eating, talon wielding, bity, scratching, kicking, horde of infected-notzombie-zombies? Could happen. You can get a lethal infection from gardening, historiclly lethal infections were quite common before the advent penicillin and ohh i don't know antibiotics...i think the rate of decline is to fast but do like a challenge. Just eat more food. Oh wait there is less. Better run more.
  25. Defering to 'you fail grammar arguments' before i had even finished editing, good stuff :thumbsup:. Just Rotts roundabout way of doing nothing constructive. According to 1.7 patch detractors common logic dictates that you should have starved or died by an infection from a zombie passing through the opposite side of Cherno. You havn't been bounced around a swarm of zombies like a ping pong ball (because you thought from prior experience that you could sprint through hundreds of zombies without a scratch) What about loot? Didn't find a tin can after three hours of searching? Apparatnly to find a can you need 6. Maybe you just adapted your gamestyle by reading the change log or are you sure you patched!? The difference is palpable. Havn't you noticed the higher levels of rage than usual?
