Essentially...infection is a non threat. Plants, herbs and more features are going to be added, you just need to chill and stop the name calling. And if you stopped trying to hit a zombie with a "crowbar 15 times in the chest", adapted, which is to say ran away you might not be so ragey :lol:

You are missing a key distinction between authentic and realistic. Rome the HBO miniseris, Deadwood (you might have seen them) are best described as "authentic, not realisitc". Nobody really wants a realisitc experience and i'll prove it. a ) X time to find a can->must have can opener->30 seconds to open a can->15 mins to start small cooking fire->15 mintues to eat it? b )X time to find a can->a can opener is in my inventory->instantlly opened->maybe 10 seconds to eat it A is realism B is authenticity. Who chooes option A for a game? If DayZ was realisitc most of the time spent in the game would be doing inane realisitc things. Adjusting backpack straps, tieing shoelaces than come undone after running...yawn! The game is about authenticy and lets our imagination fill in the blanks. Realism doesn't enhance gameplay. Even though you will find prior posts where I have i've rallied behind the cause of realism, i was acutally advocating authenticity. An infection in the game has to kill you faster than IRL otherwise it has no meaning. You can't make an infection have the same gestation period as you do IRL otherwise dissonance with every other gameplay mechanic is the outcome. If infection follows a similar IRL pattern why not eating? As mentioned who wants 30 minutes to eat a can of beans? Everything is kept in balance with one another. It's why we have to drink so much per play session. A glass of water might carry you throw a slow day IRL but DayZ tries to cram all of these bodily concerns, threats, inputs into a brief play session. If you want to do something realistic in the game you do it in reallife? Well sorry nothing IRL is going to be similar to the zombie uprising so we play video games.

Actaully no. The loot tables have been greatly reduced. The 1.7.7 was pretty good but 1.7.7.1 isn't to bad, luckily ammo spawns are still small (with the exeption of pistol ammo it seems). As for infinite zombies? Well the game would get pretty boring if not for them spawning every now and again. I actually wouldn't mind a DayZ that had fixed rescources, including zombies. Server goes along and people have to explore futher and futher any supplies at all. It also means that you could clear out towns that have less zombies and set up bases (yeah state of decay did a lot of things right) The game becomes more desperate eventually when everything is found people resort the the Xbow, melee and land subsistance to survive. If enough features were added people could live without leeching off all of the modern trappings (like cans, coke etc). Then when the last zombie died on the server it resets or something...but i don't think many people would like this. The crying about 1.7.7 was bad enough. P.S. PARAGRAPHS Actually the devs seem to have 0 regard for community input (espeically of the whiny kind). It's pretty neat that devs who have a unqiue vision of a game don't capitulate to the mob and the easy dollar. If you think infection is bad wait for a new medical system, you know broken bones, weather elements etc...gona be harsh, even more ways to slowly perish besdies infection! How delicious

I would like cover as well, being able to press crouch and hide behind the dash. Don't know if the engine stops bullet penetration from the front or side so if it doesnt add that too.

Oh my... So you find it funny that he blames cod kiddes for making the game a DM game? That makes him elitist? But elitists who decry DM "sprouted many clans and servers" (how vague) to play deathmatch because they complained about deathmatching? OK So if I follow...elitists who complained about deathmatching made servers to deathmatch despite decrying it (evidence?), and because eltists engage in PvP they are also CoD kiddies. :huh: -
I support the idea of food presevation in principle but the amount of salt needed to preserve meat is large, far larger than what a billy, camp oven or massive drum could bring. Just use the fire itself! Preserve using smoke. Smoked meat is preserves well, could also throw up a smoke signal adding some risk via signals to other players but the reward is presvered high yield meat. Salting meat via boiled sea water is not viable.

Err it happens right now? Sure radios in the game will be interesting, will help do it in a more in game dynamic fashion but hostage taking/kidnap happens.

Those were considered "strong zombies"? :huh: 5 minutes of cricle straff trumping headless chicken AI, hiding in bushes, the magical building slow mo. Wait for the SA when they pounce, run in mobs, run indoors, have proper pathing. I suppose the coming ilk of zombies will be call "zeds of steel". As far as you are concerned the zombies are working as intended? We are all entiled to opinion but not to fact, they are not working as intended and another hot fix is on the way. I mean to answer to OP (which is the point of this thread no?) the patch brought unexpected erros in zombie AI...thats all there is too it, no other information/discussion, wierd comparision videos, conspiracy, razor copping out, required. (I suppose the idea is to keep all the anger, speculation, he said she said in one place than letting it sprout up a dozen other threads) Bring on the hotfix! -

Drive to the furthest beach on the NE coast, right on the debug line, drop off, break leg, bandage and leave. But i wouldn't do it to the first person who killed me. Or the ocean...can't decide which will inconvenice for longer. That person taught me several important lessons that put me in good stead. -

Foolish notions, read more threads...the curret state of DayZ is poor. Patch shellshock and the current patch zombies are bugged as hell. The ever hard working devs are changing the zombies to behave properlly, if you think the current hot fix to was to nurf zombies or make it easier for you, you are mistaken. Quote Razor, "7.2 (the hotfix for the hotfix) should have zeds hitting like tanks and be able to pummel the player while he/she is moving." Can't wait for this gem... And if you can't find vehicles i would suggest playing a well maintained vanillia server (hive) or + cars if you're into that.

The zombie infection is different from infections due to generic bacteria sustained during an attack by a fetid humonid, eating off food, drinking unclean water etc...as far as i understand in the lore of DayZ players are immune to the zombie virus. -
