My story is in my signature. I could type it out, but it would be a damn novel by the time I was done with it. I have had INCREDIBLE luck on this life, and i'm well known on the server I play on, as there are quite a few regulars. They refer to me as (get ready for a hella cheesy name) "The Dark Knight" I only kill when absolutely necessary to my survival, and I have even had a few people defend me and patch me up. Stats of my life are in the signature. I update it after every session, and I have a word document where I log everything. :P

I don't have a problem with it, I was talking from his perspective. He's the one having trouble, so I was giving him advice, not myself. Zombies are WAY to easy IMO, and "get good" lol ok. DayZ is a cakewalk. -
I don't get how people say the zeds are OP. they are incredibly easy. They can't hit for crap, and the only thing they have going for them is they can walk through walls, which isn't even that big of a deal... they are still easy.

Turn this into a poll, i'm curious to what everyone will say. Me personally, I want it to be a very hard and very intense apocalypse simulator, and what the presentation Dean showed at Rezzed will hopefully make that happen. The current loot and shoot state of the game will NOT be there forever. When gear is mad rare, people will think twice before wanting to engage someone as the fear of losing your end game gear will actually hold some value. I already have that play style, so when the transition comes, I won't have to make any changes, I will already have the mentality that my life has value, and so does the life of others, and I think once that rule is established, it will open the door to more stranger interaction, and possibly trading. -
You did nothing wrong, although the poor chap that was gunning for you probably doesn't feel that way. But it was the servers fault, as sometimes the connection between the server/client is dropped and there is nothing you can do except move.

Hit them while in first person, trying to hit them in third is not only dumb, but impossible. Not only that, but zombies are a joke currently. They take AGES to kill you, even if you let one feast on you. And the fire axe is far from useless. Its incredibly easy to kill them in one hit from it. -
If I had a dollar for every time I saw a post like this, I would have about 100 bucks. You literally gave the solution to your own problem. Don't go there. The spawns are like this for a reason. They want to test the functionality of everything, and spawn people closer to the "new" northern city to ensure that everything works as intended.

I'm sure they are fully aware, and I doubt this thread will lead to any action. -
All spawns are centralized on purpose. They are to test the "new" northern city (its name escapes me) and to test the functionality of everything to find bugs/glitches. If there was a hit box detection issue, you could hardly test and debug it if the spawns are incredibly spread and gear is rare.

http://dayzintel.com/dayz-standalone/dayz-standalone-performance-guide view distance is default 3000, you can lower it to something more reasonable like 1500-1700. I gained about 15-20 fps from this. -
They spawn EVERYWHERE not just Berenzino. If you would have said NWAF, I would have had sympathy for you. Its your fault. Seems to me you were attempting to KoS, the very thing you complained about in your original post.

Plus, when you log off, your character is still active for 30 seconds after you log off, so its very well possible the server synced up and the zombie killed you.

Uhhh... no..... If that were the case there would be no need for BE. They don't modify the games core code to "counter hacks" Actually, they don"t really do anything to counter hacks. BE does. They write filters to prevent clients from executing certain commands.

So here I was wondering to do with my character after being rubber banded to the top of the ATC and falling to my death.... again. Here is what I came up with: A minimalist, no backpack, no storage containers, just the pockets your clothes have (Med Kits are acceptable). That means 18 slots total, 20 if you use TTsKO. You will be surprised how much of a challenge it is, and you will also be surprised with how little gear you can survive with. I have been playing this character since early this morning ~10 hours, and I have yet to die. I've come close many times, but I'm still kicking. Here are a few stats and a screen of my character: Kills: 4 People detained, robbed, and let go: 6 Robberies gone bad: 3 Players seen with no contact made: Lost count after about 20 or so. Total Distance traveled (rough approximation based off the iZurvive app): ~69,000m thats 3 hours 50 minutes full on Kenyan Sprinting, or 6 hours 22 minutes normal run Number of servers played on/average population: 3/25 players And the screenshot:

Here's what I do to vent anger when the game gets me killed: I type up a HUGE post, then email it my self, wait 5 minutes, then read it and realize how ridiculous I sound complaining about a game still in alpha. And i'm not trolling at all, I seriously do that.

Dead player turned zombie.... My regret is that I only have one can of beans to give you. Oh, and when the player turns to a zed, all the gear is ruined.
