Ok maybe it's not because of max payne, but perhaps rocket doesn't want to give people more reasons to kill fresh spawns, because the easiest way to obtain morphine was to simply murder a fresh spawn, and bam, you'd have 2 morphine injections in case you ever got knee capped or just unfortunate.

You can easily rack up a lot of kills with just a lee enfield, because it's a one hit kill and it's very effective at long ranges. Get a ghillie and hide in high grass or near bushes, also pine trees can provide very effective cover even if you don't have a ghillie, you can find all of these in residential areas, although the ghillie is a bit harder to find (1/400 or so I've heard) But, if you're going for a more ''professional'' kind of gear, you could farm up north for a DMR, NVG's and of course, the ghillie suit. If you want to get up close and personal the M4A1 CCO SD is very effective, silenced and with a nice optics, I'd say it's effective up to 200 meters, the non-silenced version is also very effective, same optics but different camo and better range. And then there's the unstoppable gear. An AS50/M107, rangefinder + NVG's, wookie suit or a mk.48, which take a good amount of time to obtain, mostly through crashed chopper or hunting other players. So yeah, it just depends on how much time you want to sink into it.

People shoot me on sight. Therefor I shoot people on sight if you don't use your god damn mic. And even if you do use your mic I will always keep my gun pointed at your head in case you try anything and I'll never lead.

I found a blue minivan today, went to the nearest industrial area and got a wheel and a jerry can. Fixed it, went to berezino, got some milshit, went to the airfield, tried to kill a guy riding a bike, failed miserably because I wasn't used to the AKM recoil. Went back to my minivan and tried to go back to berezino. Server crashed. I'm now stranded in the middle of a dirt road and my minivan is gone. Fucking crashes.

So, I decided to take a break from the actual game for a little while and just have fun by running around in elektro/cherno screaming over the mic and offering blood transfusions, I decided on equipping no weapons, filling up my inventory with blood bags/morphine/painkillers/bandages, not sneaking, ever, and using only direct chat without using my actual voice. After a few hours of running wildly through cherno, helping a few survivors at the apartments and getting sniped a couple of times I spawned in elektro, now this is where the fun begins, I meet this survivor at the pub, he doesn't like me very much and tells me to go away by threatening to shoot me if I don't leave him alone, I don't blame him, so I just run around the school for a few minutes, he leaves the pub and I try to follow him, I end up going to the church, a friendly little bandit starts shooting at me from the firestation roof and I quickly take cover behind the bus stop, after a few seconds I realize I have nothing of worth and just decide to rush it and zig-zag it while screaming something in a very cheesy accent, I end up getting through the little hole in the fence and hug the building, he managed to hit me a couple of times and tried to hit me again when I was hugging the building, I get to the corner and try to bandage, until I realized I had no bandages. A few seconds later I heard a snap and a growl, he fell off while trying to get a shot on me, I celebrated my victory by running 2 laps around his dead body telling him how stupid he is and by taking his bandages and using it, all in all he had an AKS-Kobra and 8 mags, I left it all there and hid his body, along with every body around it, after that I got transfused by the annoyed survivor from earlier. TL;DR - You're an idiot if you go on rooftops and an even bigger idiot if you fall off of them while trying to shoot someone.

I've been doing the following. 1 - Spawn. 2 - Run to town. 3 - Aggro every single zombie in town. 4 - Go through a building and around it. 5 - Zombies lost me, every single one of them is stuck inside a building. 6 - Loot without even worrying of zombies. Not sneaking is the new sneaking.

Get a ghillie suit and head for the hills. Either that or go to the industrial area in cherno and pray someone doesn't spawn right behind you.

But that would force players to play a specific way in order to succeed in the game, that goes against the basic rules of a sandbox game, didn't rocket already state that he wouldn't be punishing players for playing a specific way? Unless of course they were scripting/hacking. And that would be an even bigger incentive to loot farming, imagine all the good spots in the map occupied 24/7 by bandits because they couldn't obtain them normally, now imagine other groups wanting to move into those spots because the other ones are already occupied and they need their gear as well. And what realistic mechanic would explain the fact that the nicer you are the more gear you find? Oh, and then there's the fact that a lone wolf would just kill a better geared player to get the gear he couldn't find before, if anything you're forcing other people to kill others simply because they couldn't obtain their gear through the usual method.

I carry a DMR and an M4A3 CCO myself, I always equip the M4 whenever I'm getting ready to go inside buildings or near areas with a high chance of CQC, besides that I usually have my DMR constantly equipped.

Why would I risk getting my head shot off? I'd rather shoot them first. Although, robbing people from far away is a lot more fun, just tell them you're aiming directly at them and order them to put their gun down/supplies down or else you'll shoot them. Some drop it and quickly move the fuck away, some disconnect and others just keep moving on, but of course, it's always bluffing.

You... just sat in a corner... for 40 minutes doing nothing... just to drink some water? And you're bragging about it? And you think the coast has the best gear? And fucking call of duty? Really? So, I was just messing around the NWAF when I ran into this beauty and a SAW in the same building, I've never seen anyone carrying any, or any discussion about it regardless, so I was just wondering, has anyone ever ran into this little satchel charge of death or am I just a very lucky man? I checked the loot table and it's a 0.11%, so I'm not sure about being the first. Thoughts?

Date/Time: 29-04-2012, 12:31 AM What happened: Kicked off the game every time I attempt to join, sometimes I can get as far as the loading screen, and then I just get kicked off again, I don't get any errors, just the ''Kicked off the game'' pop up. Where you were: The menu screen I suppose. What you were doing: Attempting to join one of the servers. *Current installed version: DayZ is currently at 1.51, just redownloaded and reinstalled from the downloads area, still get kicked, OA is at 1.60, up to date with steam, Arma 2 is simply at 1.11 *Server(s) you were on: This happens with every single server, I don't think it's a ping issue either. *Your system specs: CPU : Intel Pentium P6000 @ 1.87GHz RAM : 4GB GPU : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series *Timeline of events before/after error: Just got the game for the sole purpose of playing this mod, tried reinstalling everything multiple times, still get kicked off.

Now I'm getting the CA building parts missing error again, such is life in Chernorussia, I will attempt to put my Arma 2 free folder inside my OA folder, just in case.

I am, steam asks me if I want to run Combined Operations every time I launch the game, but yeah right clicking and selecting the option just does the exact same thing, I'm also running steam as administrator. Also, verifying cache integrity just made it worser, it detected that a file was missing, told me it was going to be reacquired, downloaded that file, and then, after I launched combined operations I got a little error saying Cabuildingparts or something along the lines was a required filed for Dayz_code or something like that, after joining a server I finally got my first message saying I was missing chernorussia, again I'm not sure of the specific file names, just a pretty vague memory of them.

I ran the installer multiple times through steam, a couple of more times through the .exe in the OA folder, still didn't work, then I just deleted all BE files and ran the .exe again, it installed, still got kicked, I deleted it again, reinstalled and then I downloaded the files from their website and replaced the ones in the BE folder with them, still didn't work. TL ; DR - I did, multiple times, it hates me.

I'm going to redownload the entire game, going to reinstall it and this time I'll try to run the mod using CO lite, wish me luck, I should have an answer in 2 hours or so, wish me luck.
