    My two cents about endgame and NPC's

    Yeah, because Dean Hall want to go a easy way and spent not to much work on NPC KI & the performance Problems. ;) If there is many NPC then the performance will drop down...maybe server crashes, getting laggy...to difficult for the Dev Team, it takes to much time. So...Dean make it himself easy and say NO NPC in DAYZ SA! And all Fanboys say " Dean Hall is right to say no to NPC´s" For me. and like i see here, NPC´s are one of the Things that is actually a "Must have" because this is a perfect gameelement for better Lonewolf play und better Teamplay and less PVPGaming because people can Kill without hurting other Players and it is a special challenge for Group/Teamplayer and Lonewolf players. The other thing is that there is a common enemy that brings foreign people together and forced the Teamplay with strangers...BUT...Dean Hall don´t care about this fact! He cares about to make it himself easy. Example: NPC Towns and/or Bases: Hard NPC Towns/Bases can force Teamplay because only groups can attak them. Medium NPC Towns/Bases is good for Teamplay and Lonewolf. Easy NPC Towns/Bases is good for Lonewolf players.

    Yeah, i know ;) With harder and more Zombies in getting more difficult and that is realy realy good, but the problem is that looting must be possible for 1 person alone, so Zombies can´t act to hard. A Game element like Salvation City (but in a much much more harder way) can be the one thing that forced to Teamplay and prevent extrem PVP Gaming. The TaserWeapon from BreakingPiont is a another brilliant Idea to shutdown the kill on sight problem. Another Idea that i read about was radioactive Zones also a very good Idea for more diversification. Agriculture and ranching is another good idea. I like the original DayZ very much but let see it clear, it has a lack of teamplay (grup on with strangers) & longtime motivation. There is a Reason why Mods like Origin & Breaking Piont getting so much popular and getting more and more players. Dean Hall and the Dev Team are well advised to take a very very close look why and which elements make them so popular. ;) DayZ is always the same, collecting, repair & with a major focus on pvp and this is not enough! DayZ can be one of the greatest Games of all Time but it has to break the limitations. My personal fear is that the DayZ SA will be the same as DayZ, only with more of the same elements. Don´t get me wrong i like DayZ but DayZ SA must be a great leap forward and Origin & Breaking Piont show´s good ways to forced the teamplay and bring much more variety into the gameplay. <...break...> Btw. Stop talking about Rhino ;)

    No wonder that more and more people going away from the orginal Mod. The original mod has the problem that it getting boring. Only PVP is a challange in this entire Game. Origins is a way better because of the House building, Master Zombies and NPC thing. It makes realy more fun then the original. Salvation City is a gread Idea! Because of the NPC´s there is more Teamwork. People working together helping each other. For me it is totaly clear, if DayZ SA will have no NPC Challanges then it will have the same Problem like the DayZMod... it will getting boring after a certain time and the entire Game will be PVP. Breaking Point has realy nice Idea´s like the Taser Weapon, or the electric Grid thing, Base Construction...

I love News about this Game but... ...the news about new elements don´t make changes about the Majorproblems! 1.boredom The Gameplay has the Majorproblem that it is getting boring because if you have searching everthing, build everthing, collected everything and you do it again and again and again then there is nothing then PVP-Gaming as a challange! 2.PVP-Gaming The extrem PVP-Gaming is outcome of the boring gameplay! Gameplay needs - Singleplayer challenges & Group Challenges!!! Hopefully the Dev Team will bring something like a ShortStory EventEditor for Serveradmins because without something like this the Game getting the same Problem like the Mod!

    Nope it is not ;) It is getting boring after you played so many, many hours. Don´t lie to yourself, this is the reason why you played many other Maps & DayZ mods. ;) There is a need for a "always changing Game Element!" A game element that has near unlimted variations. ;) I don´t say make a Quest Game/RPG out of the Sandbox Game BUT put some RPG/Quests Elements into it. Like a "ShortStory EventEditor" for Serveradmins. A Tool that make it possible that Serveradmins can put selfbuild NPC Events in a Timeline on the Server. This is a possible solution for unlimited Gameplay!

    It´s no different with the Majorpoblems of the Gameplay ;) searching everthing, build everthing, collected everything -> then it getting boring, no matter if you play alone or in a group ;) If the boring Piont is reached then PVP-Gaming starts. ;)

    WoodenTorches makes more sense then chemical lights, red bengal. Make chemical lights & red bengal rare and put in the ability to make torches. torches: You need a Jerry Can, textile/cloth and a woodpile to make torches. With box of matches you turn it on. 1 jerry can (for maybe 10 torches) 1 textile/cloth (for maybe 10 torches) 1 WoodPile (for maybe 10 Torches) 1 box of matches (to Fire it up) *edit* To make it more clear that it means wooden torches

    I have no Problem if the Release is later but it is time to make the Date clear! Waiting without knowledge makes me more disappointing then a clear release date. So Rocket....have balls and tell us the truth! Is DayZ SA coming in december or is it January/February?
  18. Thx Rocket 4 Update. ;) Without massiv more Teamplay elements it sounds like a extrem boring massiv PVP Gaming. Then we have a masked FirstPersonShooter in a mmo dress. :( Future will show.
  19. Gamemaster & Mission Editor How about a Gamemaster (Serveradmin) that can generate a Mission/Story ? This Gamemaster has a Menusystem like the MissionEditor from Arma2. He can Design a Mission/Story and run it. Also there is the possibility to save the Missions/Storys and put it into a Timeline on the Server. Examples of a Mission/Story draw up: 1.A House surrounded by lots of Zombies. Inside the House is a NPC. The Mission is to help this guy. 2.A broken car on the street with a NPC needs help. The loot for a successful Mission/Story will be automatic generated dependent on Player around. Designing: 1.In the Mission Editor the Gamemaster chose a House on the Map and put a NPC Character into it and put a lot of Zombies around the House. 2.Put a Car on the map. Chose the broken parts. Put a NPC into it. Put Zombies around. Draw the Waypionts after the Car is repaired and the NPC saved so the NPC can drive away. Conclusion: This Mission/Story Editor can bring a new dimension into DayZ SA, because there a thousends of possible Mission/Storys that can be create. So the DayZ SA gets never boring, because User can create so much own Content. With a good Mission/Story Editor there is absolutly no limit, only you imagination is the limit! This is DayZ - this is your Story!

    Yeah, nice idea! Would be fun to kill a Zombie with a wooden torch maybe he gets fired up und burn down. Could be hard if a burning zombie comes near to you. :D I belive WoodenTorches brings also a deeper atmosphere into the Game. It is more authentic then the chemical or bengal lights.

    hrhr...."a variation of "it´s is done, when it is done!" :D I hope of december but if not it is not bad. There are many good new Maps like Taviana,Namalsk,Thirk...so the Mod is not getting boring. Better it takes a longer time then a terrible release! btw. Maybe someone from Team can make a Section "CustumsMaps" It is sad to see that the maps getting not enough attention and getting lost in the "privatehive discussion"

    I have think that the example shows enough that it means wooden torches. ^^ Maybe it is, but it is more logical & authentic for a Apocalypse. Go to 100 neighbors and ask for chemical lights...most dont know what it is and maybe 1 or 2 have one of them. So it is unlogical that you found everywhere many of them. ;)

    It´s not a flamewar it is discussion. ;) Iam a friend of Realism in Game but let us see it clear...the mod is not realism and it will never be. Simple things like Zombies are not real. Have you ever seen pile of food or weapons in a house on the ground? Then the shooting injury, this is not real. The wounds from weapons are ridiculous. No separated limbs, no blood tracks... the list can be very, very long. So what is the discussion about real? All argumentations about "this is not realism, we dont put it in" are nothing more then headgame and they are senseless. Sometime it looks to me like the "not real agrumentations" are nothing more then a try to get the own will over wishes from people and a system to make them silent. I think some types of wishes like "Streetlights" would be the best if the server admin has the choice. Maybe for Standalone there is a serverbrowser with many on/off additional options. This could bring more wishes and decisions into a Game without cutting them out. Better more Options that you can turn on/off then only one that is forced.
