I'm quite disappointed of this being a ported map and seeing the same assets all over again. Please make a new map designed especially for Dayz with completely new assets. It would be could to have complexes that can be used as bases, like the stadium in Walking dead, a prison, factories, etc. Also the cities are quite boring to navigate in Dayz, cities are made of small buidings not connected to each other. Big buildings with holes and several entrances, roofs connected to others roofs, shopping malls etc makes a map much more enjoyable imo.

There are some vanilla private servers, I would love to see some official servers without server hopping though. The solution they implemented for server hopping moving the players to the coast seems logical to me, otherwise players would abuse this system hoping servers until they get a good inland spawn.

It would be nice something like, 45 secs/1 min online, and when you go to the main menu your character still stays loged in 30/45 secs more. And something like if you have been injured in the last 5 minutes or shots have been fired near you your log off timer would increase to 2 mins or something like that.

Yes, making a base right now is like hey!, here is my stuff, come and get it. It makes no sense. Waiting for a persistence fix for coming back. Cheers.

I like the idea, maybe pressing one key once for hold power would be better than holding a button down constantly, pressing W or S would release the "hold function". Another way could be W for increasing power until you release W and power wouldn't decrease. For example you press W until 30% power is reached then You release W key and the car keeps going at 30% power. Pressing S would decrease power. This would be like Red Orchestra tanks controller. This way should have an extra key for instantly releasing all the power because it takes time to release the power and sometimes You just want to release it at once.

It would be nice to have some unbinarized stuff as examples, for example one building with one working door and a ladder, with the materials, lods, textures and all the stuff necesary. Maybe one firegun, one melee weapon, in the future one car, etc... It's really hard to figure how to make stuff for the game without any example, I extracted the game data to take a look on how the models are done for the game but the editor doesn't open any of the models.

I get an error after running that command : WorkDrive- ERR: 0x50004003 The source is not a valid install of the game. ctx: undefined I have Stable version of the game installed, should I intall experimental version instead? I also tried to edit DayzTools settings.ini file to match where my folders are located with no luck: [Game] user=0 path=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DayZ [ProjectDrive] user=0 path=C:\Users\"MY USERNAME"\Documents\DayZ Projects [Tools] Hide=0 Mount=0

In PC also, maybe pressing ESC should show server name.

Also it seems like bases are gone ofter 3 days, I think barrels too. Some info would be great, is like hey! Beta is out!, it has basebuilding, some players spent a lot of time building, and storing and then everything is gone. I don't know what developers are thinking sometimes.... at least give the players info so they can expect basebuilding is just a placeholder right now...

For a Beta nothing seems to work properly, not combat or basebuilding, persistance, vehicles, zombies... I think a Beta should be like polishing minor bugs, but it seems every important aspect of Dayz is well broken right now. -
I lost my barrels after 2/3 days, I doubt anybody took it :S

Yes I agree, but something could be done like being able to jog or walk faster while carrying heavy objects because there are very few vehicles at the moment, I don't really know if you can carry planks and barrels inside the 4x4, I guess You can't so the only way might be the truck. In the case of transporting barrels or wheels in real life You would be rolling it, much less energy consuming and faster :P

Now that I'm played quite a bit these two days Stable Update 0.63.149386 here are some things I think can be improved: Just my opinion :P Player Health: - Player seems to regain health too quickly, when hydrated and well feed, I think it should require much more time. - Grey screen when in low heath was cool, now the only indication we have is a red cross, it would be nice to have it back. - Player loses hydrated and feed status too quickly, I think it would be nice cutting the drinks and food loot by half, there's too many but at the same time make it so You don't need to drink and eat too often. - Let us carry wheels, barrels, planks, etc, heavy objects in general at jogging speed; when You carry heavy objects for a long distances is quite tedious, also You need too many food and drinks to move heavy objects not too far away. The first time I tried to move a barrel (like 700m) I died so quick because of dehydration and the lack of food, my stamina was more than half; when I started to move the barrel my food and drink was full. Having a lot of space in Your inventory using big backpacks, big pants, etc is worthless now because You can't even fill a standard inventory (normal size pants, backpack, etc) without loosing the ability to run and needing to eat and drink each 4 minutes. Basebuilding: - I think You can destroy a wall just using a sledgehammer, it takes too much time and effort, it should take more than a sledgehammer to take it down. Most of these kind of games use something hard to find or craft like explosives. - It would be nice if the password for the base gate is remembered by the player the first time the player use it, so the second time it is automatic. The process for introducing the password is quite slow. - I don't know if You are working in something similar but a roof for the base or a system where players from outside the base can't put barrels or whatever for getting inside Your base should be made; having a base makes no sense when somebody can jump inside without any effort. - You can't put containers or objects under trees, if You do You'll probably will loose the container/object because it won't even appear in vicinity. Containers: Containers are not working properly, sometimes You can't put things on empty spaces, can't drag things from barrel into hands, can't place objects that should fit inside containers etc, etc... Melee: Melee is not bad but is not good either, the player shouldn't get stuck when swinging a weapon, You should be able to keep moving; because You can't move while swinging melee combat feels weird, Your character gets inside the zombies, etc Night: I believe the lantern with battery included for fresh spawns should be back, if You die or log in as fresh spawn and You only have a flare, the flare will go off and You won't be able to do anything. It would be nice if some lanterns should spawn with batteries. Conclusion: I expected a greater change for being beta, I didn't see any gameplay changes on players with the introduction of beta, I didn't see a single base, not even a gate blocking a door house or anything. Gameplay seems the same for most players, spawn, run to the nearest military base where You can find the best of everything and do some PvP, die and repeat. Basebuilding, moving heavy objects, finding and repairing a car etc takes too much time, it takes so much less time reequipping on military bases as there are a lot with plenty of loot. Making military loot scarcer would be good for the game imo because people would try to make bases and store things.

Yes please, make everything toggle able, raise weapon, raise weapon directly to ironsight , eating, bandaging, etc...

Nobody is denying that having a stable game for building on further should be done, but... calling it release 1.0 will bring lot's of players back to check on Dayz, and probably will bring more disappointing and bad reviews as the players coming back would expect a finished game. You can do the same without calling it release 1.0.

Any info on controls? are gonna be improved?, I believe controls haven't changed since the first 0.63 patch. That's more than 4 months ago I heard the idea for 0.63 was making the game controls much more fluent and responsive, but I tested 0.63 in june and now in october it and I think controls never were more clunky and annoying than now. Here are some examples: Having to press 2 keys for iron sights aiming is not fluid. If You are in iron sight and lower the gun You'll need to press 2 keys again to return to iron sight. I read some people are already using macro programs to raise weapon and go to ironsights because the game doesn't let You do it. Toggle Raise Weapon is not working properly. Character can't open doors while has his weapon raised. I think the game should know what You want to do and let You do it without trouble, like opening a door while your weapon is raised; pressing F should get your character opening the door, if the character lowers the gun for a moment for doing it that's ok, but not letting the character do it is not fluid gameplay. Also in my opinion having to hold a key for do some actions is something I would like to be changed, for example left button for start eating and left button again to stop eating would be nice, or even better having the two options.

Nice Status Report! :D About the base building concept, please make the outer walls so You can walk on top of the walls, those turrets on the corners of the base are death traps imo, if You climb one of those to see who's lurking outside your base You probably will be easily shoot. Only a few spots for being able to see who's outside Your walls is not a good idea imo, please make the full walls walkable. I made this post about outer walls some time ago:

Hi, I think the log off timer is too short for a game like Dayz. I think it would be nice to have a 30/40 seconds of logging off while in game (like the video), being able to look around and cancelling the log off if you want (you would cancel the log off by moving your character, shooting punching, etc.) and when that first online count finishes your character would remain 30 secs more ingame, like it is now. The total count for logging off would be a minute or so (30s ingame + 30s offline). If you close the game on purpose (Alt+F4) for example you character would remain 1 min ingame.
