Stalker is a single player game,..DayZ is not. DayZ is meant to see how will player deal with a harsh world with no rules except the ones they create. Stalker's factions create rules and a structure to the game to help give player quests and these factions are being used to substitute having other players. DayZ doesn't have these set factions because they have multiple players and factions would simply remove certain freedom's and creativity from the player. Stalker and DayZ can't be compared in the macro game design. They can be compared on the micro level.

If you are killed you simply wakeup on the shore and think..must have been dreaming...this happens over and over... DayZ is ......InceptionZ (Que inception music) The Dream is collapsing! Shoot me so i will wakeup at the shore! Player comes back and comes across their Tent from the past dream,..(inception music)...how is this possible unless I'm still dreaming.... Spinning :beans: .........fade to black before you see if the Bean can falls or not. B)

DayZ Standalone: When you spawn in, Infected don't de spawn

What I like to see is that the infected don't de spawn if someone logs into a location like a city. Basically I want to get rid of the issue where a player get into a town and then logs out then logs back in to de spawn the infected. -

This might not work if the player is full of bullet holes? I'm not a medical student so I'm unsure if this would help in cases of lack or food or water since the body still needs it. If there was a drowning mechanic then yes. -
DayZ Standalone: Infected and Animal behavior affected by time of day

The concept is to have animals spawn more often at certain times of the day, for example find deer or other wild animals in the early AM- break of dawn sun rise. Looking to maybe make it where animals come out more at night? Looking to find away to give players a slightly different experience at night time so players will look forward to night time more. With the Infected,...They could act different, for example more aggressive or more numbers, show up in north or south more, forests , etc at certain times of the day. This is just to make things a little more unpredictable. What are your ideas on this? This good bad? -

There could actually be in a sense trails for some of the wild animals. This illusion can be done by having a higher likely of animals be at certain locations due to food or shelter.. Ex. 3 AM- 6 AM you have a higher chance of finding deer in the open fields eating. noon - 6 pm, deer are in XYZ forests. Gun fire in a location could could lower a chance of animals spawning (if they haven't spawned yet.) Basically you have invisible spawn triggers but they fire if the time of day = X Or if you fire gun in location Z, then there is a X number of minutes before the chance of Deer/or Y animal to spawn. This will create a sense that the animals move around but we do need to have some predictors like coyotes or bears, etc something to also add another danger for players who are hunting in areas where other Predators might be doing as well. Predators could also use the same mechanics and even spawn dens or locations the packs would beat said time -of the day -
I think we can all agree on this idea- ServerA = Option A Setup/difficulty = only 1 character can be made ServerB =Option B setup/difficulty = only 1 character can be made Character from ServerA/optionA can not go to ServerB/optionB and vise verse. This keeps to the one player setup as we see in DayZ. With this , no players can make use of their other character in order to get an advantage since neither can visit the same servers. Also to add- Character from ServerA can not trade or give items to Character from ServerB,....There shouldn't be a Global Inventory. If this is TRUE, then we might only have 2-4 actual player characters but none can ever go on servers that the other can go onto. I think this will solve what the discussion above is

I can see it now,... PlayerA is finishing up after harvesting some potato and as he is feeling good (BAM) PlayerB potato bandit shoots him dead. The potato bandit was waiting for days till the other player finish all the hard work.

Unless all the servers have all the same setup, we are going to have multiple characters

I think we will see multiple characters but only one character per Server setup/difficulty. This will keep player's from hoping to one server to easily loot or get some advantage and then hop to a different server to make use of this loot. I don't know how much freedom Private Servers will get in the DayZ SA since this is an alpha and we need to test mechanics, loot tables, balancing, etc. And having 20 different setups would make it impossible for DayZ SA to get the proper data to balance these topics for the final game release. I think private Servers (assuming there will be) will need to be able to choose a setup/difficulty but there might be small non game design choices in setup that will not affect the balancing of the game. These could be weather, Day cycles, and Future- seasons. I don't see Private Servers being able to decide starting gear, loot setups, bring in guns that are not in the SA official. But back to the main topic of multiple characters, yes we will see them but not on the same server setup/difficulty. Ideally if Dayz ever set things up like EVE Online does,..then we will see one character but again the rules would have to be universal. Ideally I would love for no or some mechanic to delay the character to server hop. Server hopping destroys the server's community and any hope to have a player driven economy. But yes, i see some form of multiple characters but there should be a limit you can create. (to keep servers from keeping data on player characters which have been left on the waste side and they don't plan to use again.

Gun fights are determined bu the music that start playing... If the music is heroic- then you will win the fight even if you had no bullets left If the music is sad- then your going to lose the fight even if the other player doesn't have a weapon.

Silence tells me they are still tweaking things. We will hear soon enough wither they hit a road block in the new setup that would push it to early 2013. I'm sure it's being run through a lot of tests, Rocket want to make sure the Foundation is ready.

Right now they are testing the new setup and I'm sure they will be also making adjustments into next week. If they get it done late December -that's cool,..if it takes till late January - that's cool too What matters is they get the setup right since everything will be built from this foundation. Once they have a concrete foundation- like for a house,..then adding features will be much easier since you got the core designed and set. -
There will be no NPCs in DayZ mod or SA, based on what Rocket has said.

I would love to have some things/events or situations which only happen or more often at night time. I feel that night time needs some love. -
When you are killed, you hear the song.....Circle of Life If you can't find a boat,..you can look for a mermaid to ride on. Your gun talks to you and tries to tell you not to kill that player in the distance. Cans of beans replaced with Cans of Spaghetti and meatballs. If you share the can, they play the sound from lady and the tramp. To cure the Infected Zeds,..female players need to give them a kiss, like the whole frog thing. In the forest you can hunt deer and the 7 Dwarfs,..but don't eat Sneeze or you will get sick ! Tents are not just for storage but you can flatten them and fly on them like a magic carpet...

I believe you need to get a chopper working and be able to travel to new map- if it's an island. I could also see where you fix a train and the tracks which then allows you to go travel to another land map zone in DayZ. As for it making sense to go from one map to another if it's several countries away,..we could simply just ignore the idea that it might be impossible for the sake of traveling from map to map.

Ok you want Disney.....here we go... When you and your dog bump into a cow or other wild animals,...they will all break into song. Every Castle in DayZ has a princess which can be saved, she will reward you with a can of beans. Oh and there will be a Zomvie Dragon guarding it.

Body Armor, Vehicle Armor, base building and camo scent?

Body armor should be something you need to put together from other items. But the downside for the body armor is your Stamina is lower the the normal Max and also it drops faster when using it. This falls into the line that this type of body armor is heavy and would weight the player down resulting in the above mention in Stamina. There needs to be a trade off for having this type of gear. By making it a trade off- then there is not must get feel to the body armor (you need to build from parts) -
Is there going to be an Xbox version of the standalone?

Wither console players know it or not, but PC has much more capability then the Xbox/PS. Many games for the PC that are on Xbox and PS are not using the best use of the PC because they need to keep the PC not to over shadow the console version when it comes to Graphics and memory usage. We saw this with the Witcher 2 port from PC to console. Also the whole question why in ME3- why you can't holster a gun when you want has to do with memory space on the consoles. As for xbox360 being able to run Arma2/3 or DayZ in the mod form,..is unknown but they might have to make sacrifices in some area to get it to Console. With this saying, as we saw with Minecraft's console port,..don't expect it to have everything that the PC version has. If and when we would see a xbox360 version,...you looking over 12 months from now since all the Alpha/beta testing is on the PC alone. Till the DayZ SA is finished, you won't see anything for the consoles. -

The arguments on this topic can only be solved once the duping is removed. Until then we really can't get good data, hopefully the Standalone will give us the data needed to find a balance on this but I believe what will give us balance is the guns being able to jam and show wear and tear as we use them, making the player need to clean the gun with a kit ever so often/based on usage. -
I can see it now... Player hears his friend saying he is running to him but there is a Zed following him. Player sees both of them and says,..wait! ..I can't tell which one is which?! You both look all disgusting with flies around you both. Friend as he is running, says " Shoot the more smelly, disgusting one...that is the Zed...quick before I'm killed by it! BAM!! Player says,.. OK I shoot the Zed! You are safe now! Friend " No, you shot me! I'm dead! The Zed is hitting my dead body now, ugh...What happened!" Player " You said shoot the smelly disgusting one and I did." Argument continues... Then fades to black and a Survivor(Bambi) and Bandit comes on screen talking to the viewer. Remember players,...being smelly and dirty might help you with escaping Zeds,...but will get you killed by your friends. Always have a signal and remember to be dirty but not dirty to the point where your friends think you are the Zed. This was a message from the Bandit and Bambi society... "Only you can stop mistaken KOS" "Keep KOS purely a Bandit right of passage" Bandit turns to Bambi, Bandit: "Do you have any beans?" Bambi " Sure!" Bandit shoots Bambi and takes the beans Bandit looks over dead character and says " Thanks Bambi !"
