    He hasn't "seen" any of this though, and hasn't claimed to. In any case, just watch the numbers on the homepage. The murder to total characters ratio will be dropping drastically. Also "you're" not "your."

    I've seen considerably LESS murders since the change. Newbies don't start with any items worth killing them over. And newbies that would feel inclined to go on wanton killing rampages no longer have the means. I was in Elektro last night, and saw 5+ deaths from zombies, and absolutely none from PKing. TL;DR This patch will significantly lower the murder rate if anything. You're so wrong it hurts.

    This thread is full of fail. Assumptions that some of the assholes on these forums are just slobberig idiots who can't find good jobs or play CoD all day. I'm one of those assholes, and I have a good job (in IT) and I tried CoD once with a friend and hated it. You can call a person's ideas stupid, idiotic, and retarded, and still be constructive while doing so. A lot of people came to DayZ because we wanted something different and innovative, something that doesn't hold our hand, that doesn't pat us on the back for reaching meaningless milestones, that doesn't protect us from failure at every turn. When we see people making suggestions that would do just that, we're right in shouting it down.
  8. Hunting knives don't let you actually fight zombies, they're for getting meat from animals. Also, I play as a lone wolf all the time, and even with the recent start items nerf I haven't had a problem.

    Arma2 Experience: Minimal Dayz Experience: Over a Month For/Against: Against I got geared up ridiculously fast. AK-74 with 6 clips, M1911 with lots of ammo, ghillie suit, and almost all the tools within two hours. Whatever advantage this gives to geared out players is honestly minimal.

    How often are your camps raided?

    Hiding stuff near Black Lake is a bad idea. That's one of the specific areas I search for when looking for a camp.
  15. This got deleted in the forum rollback today, but fortunately it was the last thing I had ctrl+c'ed. For starters, I'd like to give a big thank you to the dev team for finally implementing land vehicles on all the servers. The game is even more fun than it already was, and having a goal like vehicles has really helpedpeople form groups and to stop deathmatching quite so much (and it has worked much more so than any of the damn carebears' heretofore suggestions). Anyways, I have a lot of mostly related ideas regarding vehicle spawns, along with my rationale behind them: 1) Make vehicle spawn locations much more random. This would incentivize people to form groups to search diligently for the vehicles of their choice, rather that simply running to Rog castle/NWAF/wherever for a chopper the moment the server gets set up. It would also remove an unfair advantage that it seems (though I cannot personally confirm) many server admins and their buddies have been exploiting by getting the jump on these vehicle spawns. 2) On vehicle destruction, have vehicles respawn in a completely random place, as above. At least the way things seem now, vehicles go back to whatever location they were last saved at after destruction. 3) Have all vehicles despawn after X number of days without being used/actively saved. Note that I am not against the hoarding of vehicles by any means. The reason for this, rather, is for a situation such as where some random person/group goes on a server, finds a car, takes it out beyond the edge of the map after they've had their fun, and end up never coming back to that server again. This would essentially make the vehicle unavailable to anyone and everyone on the map, and that's just lame. Make it plenty long to not harm the hoarders (somewhere between 4 and 7 days seems long enough). 4) Remove the ability for helicopter radar to see vehicles that are broken, not running, or inside a building.It doesn't really make sense from a realism perspective, and I think it frankly gives people with helicopters too much power. They already have the best mobility, the best vision, etc., they don't need the added bonus of radar. 5) Fix the vehicle saving system so that it doesn't get eaten by server resets (not sure how much of this is hive side and how much is serverside). That is all.
  16. Last night I installed 1.7.1. My first life was tough, and I died quickly. Did I complain? No, I manned the fuck up and on my next life I found camo, and remington with flashlight, a sidearm, and butt tons of ammo/medicine/food/etc. And then I went and fully repaired a vehicle. All the while people were complaining in global chat (sadly this server still had that enabled) that the game was now "impossible." I'm telling you the same thing I told them: Man the fuck up. Losers cry, winners grab life by the balls and make it work for them. The flashlights don't make it impossible, the lack of gamma exploit doesn't make it impossible, YOU (and only you) make it impossible. The new patch is not "impossible" or "too hard," you're just too soft. TL;DR Man the fuck up!

    I'm telling the people who cry, or who can't be bothered to look up the keybind for the flashlight, or who are mad that their gamma exploit is gone, that they've been playing wrong this whole time and that they are the single greatest barrier to their own success in DayZ.

  22. I don't use online maps. I already know my way around incredibly well. It helps that I learned orienteering in Boy Scouts, and that I know the Russian alphabet.
