I don't really like private hives, because I like to be able to just switch servers when needed. I don't like being restricted to just one server, because if that server's empty and I really want to play, I'll have to play completely alone.

Depends who I kill. A bandit shot me a few days ago from the top of the cherno hospital and that made me angry, I was saying I'm friendly, luckily I got away alive, and found a glock in the fire station close by. I went back, climbed up to the top, and just as I climbed up, he turned to me and shot me with an enfield, luckily he shot me in the legs and I survived, I emptied the whole clip in him and he eventually died. I felt great justice!

But isn't that the point? You have to be careful because you know that one shot is all it takes to kill you. That's the beauty of it. That's the way it should be. Dangerous. Also, it does take 3-5 shots with most pistols in the game to kill a man. Machine guns are, I believe 2, snipers are 2 except for as50 and m107. EDIT: Oh you meant sub machine guns? They take a while to kill, unless it's a headshot. And what do you mean it could be easier on headshots? Headshot with any weapon will yield you a kill.

This, I don't really see the point. If nobody needs a teammate or a friendly guy to give them a blood bag, it will only make the game easier for, pretty much everyone. It's better as it is currently because if you want to have full blood again, you're going to have to trust someone, and not shoot everyone you see.

I thought this was something related to ghillies sniping above the power plant. Surprised that it isn't. :P Gonna watch soon.

Isn't BAF (British Armed Forces) the one that makes the textures look better? Apparently not. Try restarting your Steam, verifying game cache?

I agree with you about the hackers. I've never encountered a crybaby admin, but I guess it's not a pleasant sight, at all. Just today when I finnaly got to NW airfield and found a car inside, I was killed by a hacker in a ghillie suit. (Easy way to spot a bandit or a hacker = ghillie suit). I shot him 3 times with an m14 and my friend shot him with his m14 as well, the ghillied guy didn't even flinch. Hackers are now, sadly, a common sight in DayZ. I see at least one every day, and I've learned not to care too much about losing stuff, because of this very thing. I am sad that you are leaving, but if that's your decision, then it's the right decision. I doubt the game is going to fix the hacker problem any time soon, and while they are trying to do it, it's not an easy thing to do.

Speaking of heroes, do you lose the hero skin once you have it? Do you lose it just as you get below 5000 humanity or what?

And how bad does a bandit have to be? 40k negative?

True, but I have my sound on max, and I'm playing with headphones. It's silent, I can mute the game effects and everything, the VON will still be very quiet, and I can't turn my volume up any more.

Most cars and offroad vehicles can store 50 items lots, 10 weapon slots and 2* I believe backpacks lots?Motorbike, however, can only store 5 items. Storing more will result in items being lost. Ural can store 200 item slots.

I'm a lone wolf sometimes, playing with a RL friend for some time now, but we won't be able to in a few days, because just as he comes home, I have to go. Anyhow, I have very rarely met up with friendlies in the game, I don't know why, but I rarely had anyone speak to me and say they're friendly. Also, when someone is talking over Direct channel, I can hear them VERY barely if they are, say, 10 meters away from me. If they're right next to me, I can hear them crystal clear, as they start getting out of range, it's very, very silent and my game is a lot louder than his voice.

Thanks a lot! Tried using this before, don't think it helped all that much. I'm playing on Low or Very Low at the moment and I get steady 30-60 frames per second, even when recording (1080p), but the graphics are not so nice. I used to have a "gaming PC" some 3.5 years ago, which is probably why I can't do much better with it. If you think there may be something that can increase my quality and framerates, please do reply and I will give all attempts a can of beans, because It's appreciated. My PC specs are as follows: Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2.66 ghz ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB 4 GB DDR3 RAM 1 TB HDD (260 free) Those are my specs, and as you can see, pretty outdated. When I used to run the game on med to high, I would get sometimes 30, sometimes 40, and sometimes 15-20 frames per second, and I didn't want to go very low because I actually tried it before and it did not really work that good (very low), it was the same as medium or high, just uglier. So, one day after a lot of tweaking, I noticed my graphics card was finally putting an effort to run the game on smooth constant FPS, because the temperature increased from it's idling temp (idling temp is 60-70 for it, and 100 on load. Quite high, yes, but apparently the 4850s are made to work regularly with 100-120, so should be ok). If there's anything you may think of that can help me, please do reply to me. Also I tried all sorts of config tweaking, including this one, and what seemed to have increased my performance a lot is setting Video memory to Default.

I'd like to know how to enable my DayZ UI, because I'm interested in my humanity, zombie kills and stuff like that. The option is greyed out in the options menu.

Gh0st233 here, ingame name simply Ghost. Bought the Combined Ops on the Steam Summer sale 2012, and have been playing it a lot for a month after I got it, then paused, then started again recently. So far, enjoy it a lot, again. I usually trust people in the game too much, even bandits, which is something I should change.

Just join 3DP:OFF servers, and solve your problems? I like using the third person when running, because like everyone else stated, the shaky camera is not very nice to look at, and the FOV is rather poor, as well. However, I like to drive my vehicles in first person, unless it's a bike or an atv, because then I can not calculate the distance between my bike and the barricade in front of me, especially because I always double tap the look around key, so I can scout my surroundings while driving. There are servers with first person only, and there are servers with both first and third. I prefer both first and third, because I use first in gunfights and driving, and I use third for everything else.

Well, these are the 3 basic rules that I stand by: 1. Do not shoot on sight, except for bandits. (up until a few days ago, I didn't shoot any bandits on sight even if they say they're friendly, but that has long changed, since he backstabbed me while giving him a transfusion) 2. Run from a gunfight, because I'm not really good at the game. 3. Get to Elektro as fast as I can. (I don't know why I like going to Elektro, because I usually tend to be murdered horribly there, but it also happens to be the center of the action, especially when playing alone, because I'm too bored to go to NW alone)

I THINK I had a problem like this a few days ago, when I reinstalled Arma 2 and OA, and Beta, too, which I didn't use before. This is what fixed it for me: Launch ArmA II first, then launch ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead, then launch Beta after all those 2 are launched at least once. I don't know if this will help you, but I sure hope so. Cheers, and good luck!
