just wondering where ghillie suits have a possibility of being found. frustrating killing a player and not being able to loot it and i never can find them outright. i've heard residential buildings and i can imagine they'd spawn at military locations. just didn't know if the residential part only applied in towns like cherno and elektro or anywhere in the world.

i'd tell you the best place to put tents, but then everyone would know.

i found the mother of all hacked tents a few weeks ago. LRR, PKM, MG36, KSVK, M16 M203 ACOG, Saiga 12K, some other sniper rifle with ghillie camo that wasn't a dragonov. M4034 or something. it was on the north east coast, so i just took everything out and dumped it in the ocean, then saved the tent. KSVK and PKM wouldn't even let me carry a backpack when i had them equipped.

you're most likely just talking about mouse smoothing. only other options are x and y axis and those didn't make the sensitivity feel any different. what's weird is that it's not a problem when free looking with the alt key, just when moving the mouse very fast to turn your character. move the mouse across the mouse pad very fast and i barely turn 10-15 degrees. slow the mouse down and i turn way more for the same distance traveled across the mouse pad. never have had v-sync on. happens at 60fps.

this has been bugging me lately. it's like the faster you react and move your mouse, the less the camera moves.

got to the top of skalka. got on top of one of the rocks to look down at the ural spawn. started sinking through the rock/ground and somehow fell to my death. went a week or so without dying on a private hive. did an unintentional half front flip on my dirt bike, landed on my head and took care of that.

i almost exclusively play on a private hive with no death messages and it's annoying because of the current fucked up state of the debug monitor. last guy i killed was with the DMR at night and they were hiding in a tree. pretty sure i got them with the first shot, but i couldn't see them because they backed up into it as i shot and so i put a bunch more shots in there just to be sure. then i had to turn on the debug just to see if i had gotten the kill. i'm not about to leave the debug on, just for that and not be able to see my hunger and thirst.

such an overrated gun on these forums. only people i see that want them are those on the forum that want to handicap themselves for the sake of role playing. it's rare because it's the worst sniper rifle in the game, with a terrible scope. i've seen them in a lot in barns, but even if i'm a fresh spawn, i'd rather just keep my AK variant or enfield, leave it and head north to hunt down a chopper crash and get a DMR. i've found a shit load of tents with pretty much every weapon and tool in the game, but i can't recall ever seeing a CZ in one. nobody wants to use them, nobody wants to save/dupe them and every gun in its class is better than it.

now do it with a DMR, with moving targets.

i primarily use M14 + DMR, but i can't help but stuff this bastard in my backpack just for that spotting scope. the magnification is little too much for close encounters and i play on servers without crosshairs so i can't shoot from the hip.

i have a pretty dated machine now and i like tweaking things to get the ultimate potential performance out of games... maybe a little too much. 2x 5150 xeon processors that total to 4 cores @ 2.66GHz 6gb of ram [around 800MHz speed] radeon 4870 SATA2 SSD i run the game off an SSD now and with pretty modest settings i get 60fps in the forest and open areas, but cherno and elektro are pretty bad. maybe 20-30. i also notice a lot of texture jumbling with the LOD. buildings in the distance seem to be switching from super low res textures to higher res and back again at will. the higher res textures usually take a second to show up after i zoom in with a scope. just wanted to know if running a few of the big .pbo files, like structures, off a ramdisk would help at all? also i wanted to know which addons folder the game actually uses while playing dayz so i know which one to move files from to the ramdisk if i did try it. i've seen mention in past ramdisk threads of some files that aren't even in my OA addons folder, but regular arma II instead and there's seemingly two addon folders to choose from each for arma II and operation arrowhead. would it even be worth it though? i've read that the game is a lot better on hard drives now, so it might not even be needed if i have the SSD already.

took my answer. i've been carrying around the M14 for a while. love the mix of traditional bolt-action rifle look, with high tech looking CCO and magazine. the ammo synergy with the DMR and M24 consolidates inventory space. the dot sight and lower recoil make it better than the FAL easily. M4 CCO may be able to load SD rounds but i still wouldn't risk making that much noise that players can hear to kill zombies and would use an M9 SD instead. i prefer a rifle purely for pvp.

theoretically, it's easier to dupe in higher quantities now. i look around for heli crashes too and don't even need to dupe. i find more stuff than i need or can use as it is, the legit way.

wish i could give my hero skin to someone else cause i sure as hell don't want it. i'd rather be a bush and go unseen than have knee pads.
