    DayZ Mod 1.7.6 Update

    why the f*** are so many people bitching about the new soda/food cans... the only legit reason to complain about is that the inventory list becomes a lot longer and thats not that big of a deal... the names aren't important at all. one question for the dev team is it possible to group the items into food cans and soda cans so they appear in the list only as Soda/caned food?

    Generators...

    maybe generators could be used to run the elevator in the hotels, with wich you can reach higher floors with massive loot and zeds (maybe as a instance) but these generators have to be highly damaged so you have to put some effort into it

    i got a sollution for you ... make your own dedicated server, implement some npc survivor and run the server local only .... there you can play in your own sandbox

I think it would be great if helicopter crash sites don't simply pop out in the enviroment, instead they could crash into the ground with a short scriptet scene, maybe with a short radio message Edit: I'll wrap up the ideas to quote them into another threat about helis 1. does it fit into the lore: the defeat of an army doesn't involve that every single solider is already dead. there can be survivers along for a few reasons: - the helicopter wasn't at the base while a zombie attack. - the soliders managed to flee from the attack. - they are deserters. 2. why they crash: One of the crew member is infectet with the zombie virus and attacks the other's this results in death of the pilot and the rest of the crew. there could be a radio message like a sos message: the/ a message can trigger (with a 40 50 % chance) when the helicopter crashes 3. why should they crash: 4. where can they crash: at the moment they can crash there were they actually do, at plain terrain: 5. how do they crash: They will "loose" controll of the chopper and crash. there will be a few scriptet animations controlling where they crash into (see point 4) so what do you think about this idea.

    i think its not that bad if you have to fire 2 arrows to a zombie because you got much more arows to fire and have a better rate of fire.

    i don't think it shouldn't do more damage than a crossbow does 3555 i think 3200 should be goood enough when the target has a 80 % chance of bleeding after the hit it. the bow should have an effective range of round about 200 to 300 m which is the avarage range of assault rifles and you fire the arrows from a quiver containing 10 - 20 arrows which act like a magazin, and should take 2 inventory slots.
  9. i think the rubber bullets should also damage a bit, but have a 40 to 60 % chance (based on the type of your weapon) of nocking out the target and the hit of the bullet can't result in bleeding, so there is still a slight chance of killing people with rubber bullets as it is in real life.. the bullets should be available for: Winchester 1866 with a effective range of 100 meters, about 400 damage and a 60 % chance of nockout *edit* any other shotgun with a effective range of 100 to 150 meters, about 400 damage and a 50 % 60 % chance of nockout maybe the G17 and M9 with a effective range of 50 m, 200 - 300 damage and 40 % (I know its not realistic and it seems a bit wierd, but i wanted 1 or 2 other weapons to come up with)

    An idea for the Radio.

    i think its a great idea, to implement a semi global voice chat. i thinkit could already be enough to make 5 to 10 channels... and I think it would be cool if sometimes automated radio transmissions like the "green mountain transmission" or maybe sometimes radiotransmissions from airplane in great distance with loud ambient noise.

    yeah they really should fix it. 1. it makes the helicopter (at least a bit) more balanced according to pvp. and second point is the mentioned realism: atm you "struggle to find" ammo for a shotgun but you just manage to get endless ammunition for a gatling gun which fires hundreds of bullets in seconds

    Heli idea

    i think there should generally more then only 1 active vehicle (buses, trucks and helis) ingame. there should be 2 - 3 (maybe 4) of those vehicles, generally spread over chenarus, so you still have to search everywhere, but at least a bit more people can find one, or steal one from another group.

    1. why people always have to compare features to other games that have it, even if they can't be compared? modifyable weapons aren't like you unlock them, you really have to find them... 2. as long the weapons are simmilar enough 3. at the moment there are enough weapons to try it as long we are in a alpha: ak 74, m4a1, m16a2, m9 and mp5 which all got modifications. i think they are enough for the moment. and we all don't know what the devs can/will do as long we aren't a part of the team or they tell us what they're working on^^

    actually they do pop up, when the admin restarts the server for respawning the crash sites but player will hardly notice it, as nobody can be on the server. i think it couldn't be that bad if the game plays a bit with your feelings like giving a short time of hope, and then you find out there is nobody left alive, then you see spots where could be other survivor or people who help you and ther is no living man again... you know it just would make the world a bit more realistic, if the game doesn't at least give you the feeling that there is hope it could get boring.

    thats why they just crash :D adding crashing helicopters into the game will make reaching a crash site more thrilling, because you can be sure that other player know the position at least roughly... and the fact that you hear a helicopter will also affect your experience, as i think in a good way^^

    but that could be changed to, i mean loads of servers restart the game only to respawn the crash sites. maybe the crash sites could be reseted every few hours or something, and the new heli(s) could get the animations

    the problem is then that helis simply pop out on your travels out of nowhere like they are beamed in there from outta space. edit: forgot that the helis only spawn on server restart nvm

    you don't have to fix landings on unreachable places you simply can "land" them there where they now pop up already at flat terrain. and a helicopter crash won't kill people within 200 m and there is also no need to create new explotions you simply drop military helicopters on a skripted line ending at the ground where they explode and leave the crash site

    i thought about this too and this is where the radio message comes in: in the message could be a communication between the heli crew in which some of them turn into zombies and attack the other crew member and infect them. i dont wan't a active non player army. but i'd like to see realistic world to survive in

    Mall instances

    i think there shouldn't be any given "game modes" like ctf, it should stay a survival game, what could be implemented is flags themselve which should be placeable and maybe show something like a guild/clan tag/icon so player could play ctf in chernarus if they want. and i also don't like the idea of an instanced mall that much i think a big mall should be lootable and in the open world, i think there could be other instances like a secret science lab filled with zombies and maybe other dangers. I think it is really importent to think about what can be done with the instances but it all should be the players choise to create safe zones, deathmatch zones ctf matches and so on. there should be no locations which forces people acting in another way then they want
