Will not run any games worth playing. PC gaming is not cheap. A solid low budget for a gaming PC is ~US $500. Sometimes you can do better with seasonal sales, but generally this is about what it costs to put your first one together. (it's cheaper when you have left over parts to re-use) Currently I'm running Dayz @ 30-50 fps with an Intel G860 & Nvidia GTX 560 @ 1600x900 (My GPU is over spec because I'm upgrading my CPU and going to 1920x1080) If you want the bare minimum you should consider an Intel Sandy Bridge Pentium chip (like mine) plus a slightly cheaper GPU. My GPU is a bit more expensive but that's because I'm about to be playing at 1080p. Game performance is very dependent on screen resolution. The bigger the resolution the more work that has to be done. For example a 1600x900 screen has about 30% less pixels than a 1920x1080 screen.. meaning 30% less hardware power needed to get the same FPS. tomshardware.com has a very good budget charts that tell you the best CPU / GPU for your money or screen size (Resolution): here is the best graphics card for you money August article: http://www.tomshardw...eview,3107.html and the best CPU for your money July (most recent): http://www.tomshardw...clock,3106.html that's the best place to start researching for a gaming PC. EDIT:: I just want to warn you of the temptation to get a cheap quad core AMD chip over a cheaper Intel Pentium. For some reason gamers just can't stand the word Pentium, no matter what the benchmarks say.. but the unfortunate truth is that benchmarks prove that Sandy & Ivy bridge have no AMD comparison for gaming. It's not that I don't like AMD -- or that I wouldn't be really excited to see a competitive top end AMD chip, but that when you put even a cheap Sandy bridge dual core with a good GPU.. only the top of the line AMD quad cores (the expensive ones) clearly best it. Yes the more expensive AMD chips can beat Intel pentiums but then you drop in an Intel i3-2100 (dual core budget chip) and it beats or nearly matches every single AMD CPU for gaming. Not even talking about Intel Quad cores which are in a tier where the AMD side is blank (no competition).

I've been seeing a lot of forum posts about fixing the alpha. Mostly people saying "I quit", "This game sucks/is terrible because of bug xyz, Fix xyz or I quit/boycott", or similar negative comments. I know it can be hard not being able to play the game how you want, but here is my take on why the bugs are actually a GOOD thing. 1.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First of all, I'm glad the Developers have their priority of adding game features first. I do not want dogs, infection, temperature, and all the other goodies planned to STOP every time a tent breaks or a vehicle spawns wrong. If theses bugs are easy to Fix, do you think rocket would not fix them immediately? Yes, dayz is a game you like, but it is even more than a game to Rocket. He has put a lot of sweat and blood into it. If it were the best path to pour his effort into it I have faith he would have done it. That doesn't mean it won't get fixed, but that they are probably working on it BUT also mostly working on DayZ standalone. Likely this is the correct choice. 2.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Devs have already said some of the biggest bugs, such as duping, inventory errors, hacking, and broken characters are not fixable in ARMA II. Therefore, the faster the game goes standalone the sooner we have a Better dayz. I'd rather not play as much now and get a much sooner stand alone than have a perfectly patched alpha. Again, I think if a perfect alpha were easy Rocket would do it for us.. as it is it sounds like it would take a terrible amount of effort and I respect him pushing to make DAYZ better even if it hurts for now. 3.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That said, I think with current duping and inventory bugs, having no tents/vehicle saves actually helps the game have less cheating. Vehicle and tents not saving stops the dupers. It doesn't stop the hackers, but DayZ standalone is the only thing that will really help with hacking. Therefor focusing on developing dayZ and leaving alpha bugs behind sounds like a really good choice to me. The sooner the better. IN SHORT:: I can't wait for standalone and I really don't care if dayZ alpha is buggy & I think you should feel the same way. I applaud the developers for fixing what they can but understanding that if they get stuck on these huge alpha bugs then we'll never have the dayZ we want. I have faith that the developers are not stupid and care about the game more than any of us do.. and that consequently they're doing the best they can. please stop posing urgent threads and threats over and over for the same bugs.. play the alpha and enjoy waiting for the next big build to come out :) Right now tents and vehicles don't work so just don't use them. It's not a game ender, Nor is fixing them going to fix DayZ alpha.

You Have Been Kicked : Battleye Client Not Responding.
IIII_joshua replied to xXLeGiTxScOpEzZ's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I had a similar problem (running the steam version) What worked for me was closing steam, right clicking the steam icon and choosing run as administrator, then launching dayZ as normal. I got into the game lobby and battle eye updated instead of kicking me. Running steam as administrator may or may not work for you. try it :) -
My helicopter exploded mid-flight
IIII_joshua replied to Axxassin's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Axxassin, For there to be a Ban in Dayz there has to be proof. Proof can be server logs that show scripting activity, video recordings of hacking, or other similar proof worthy documentation.. From reading your post I can see you have exactly 0 proof. In fact, you don't even know if it was a legitimate gun shot that took you down.. you're just assuming it was a hacker. I'm sorry for your chopper but DayZ is not a nice game. You flew it up in an obvious area and made your self a target. Yes, you may have been really high up, but if you could see the ground then the people on the ground could see and hear you.. I don't see how you expect not to be shot at or shot down. Have fun earning all your stuff back. -
Well, what can I say.. bad players are bad and you can't fix them all. I feel sorry for all of the people trying to reason with OP and co. You just can't fix them. Besides, they aren't really hurting anybody.. most of these kills will simply re-spawn and walk away with little harm done. One day OP and co. will realize why they are wrong but I really don't think it's today. They have to grow up a bit. Anyways, Video was maybe 3/10. Music was bad and completely out of context (kid likely saw it in griefing video and wanted to be cool too). All kills were boring and bring nothing to dayZ players.. really.. then again I didn't watch it all because it seemed pointless..

Broken tents/vehicles alter my game experince totally, how about yours?
IIII_joshua replied to crash_better's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This entire topic is pointless. You purchased ARMA 2 so you could play the DayZ alpha. The devs have told us over and over that it is an alpha and game breaking bugs WILL HAPPEN. A game breaking bug occurs and you freak out. You decide that telling people not to play the game because game breaking bugs will happen.. except now you're 'against' the devs rather than ignoring their warning. Good job, you didn't listen and now you're still not listening. Now you're just here spouting ignorance like it matters. Man up and delete your thread. No beans will be awarded -
mikey182, You can pay for server rental but there are terms to being on the public hive. Locking and shutting down your server are both violations of the public terms. Have fun getting your server black listed. Then you can pay for a private hive and hoard as many items as you want. Enjoy it while it lasts.
