How to spawn in vehicles as Admin?

Spawning/Scripting/editing dayz is not in the scope of a Server Administrators ability. If you want to cheat you'll have to become a hacker.
  2. I don't see how you think a packed highway fits in Chernarus. In fact, I don't know how you imagine this idea to fit at all -- the whole concept feels extremely out of place on this map. Rush hour traffic in such small cities? Vehicles packed with goods in such a rural industrial setting? Sudden mass media style panic on an isolated rural inland? everything about this concept just clashes with what I know about the setting of DayZ. It's like it belongs in a separate game all together. if I were developing DayZ I would be quite confused as to why you suggested this at all. I mean it's pretty much one of the most popular themes for zombie movies already, so it's not like anybody had ever heard of it before your suggestion.

    Outside looking in

16GB is a waste of money in a gaming PC, pure and simple. There is not a video game that doesn't run perfectly with 4GB of ram. Also, faster is nice except your 'uber cpu' is designed to run ddr3 1333, so that's really fine too. I don't mean to talk you down from buying what you want, but I'm simply giving you a more factual view of the subject. going to ddr3 1600 will increase your MINIMUM fps (~7%) but not noticeably increase maximum. 8GB will allow you to alt tab faster. Don't pay a lot of extra money if ram prices at time of purchase do not justify the benefits. If you can pay +$20 for a faster ram kit vs +20 for a faster CPU/GPU always upgrade ram last. It's almost always a bigger difference to upgrade something else instead. AS for motherboard. The baseline cost for a functional Intel motherboard is $40.00 (ecs motherboards from Newegg) Yes, reading the features makes me frown, but damn if the thing doesn't work. You want to overclock? Add at least $30 for a decently powerful/cooled mobo. USB 3.0? probably in the same(40+30=$69) range. PCI express 3.0? Don't even bother, get it in 3 years when you get your next new motherboard, you're going to get ~1% performance increase unless you are running tri or quad graphics cards. PCI 2.0 are rarely saturated so there is no reason to pay a premium for a wider 3.0 atm. Again, pay the price depending on features, but know what you're paying and why. CPU is nice but make sure it's not more expensive than a better, more modern model. Some times the old ones (like the i5 2400 or 2500) run about the same price as a i5-25xx or 35xx just because there are less of them on the market. Not a bad cpu choice though. GPU is going to depend solely on your resolution and budget. Put as much money as you can here if you are trying to play at 1080p. Put less money here if you are running at 1600x1050 or less. Here's are some pro sources on CPU/GPU value: http://www.tomshardw...eview,3107.html http://www.tomshardw...clock,3106.html ALSO:: you seem to be having trouble picking a case. MY baseline (This one is not scientific, just my experience) is the Cooler Master Elite 430 (34.99). It is a very very solid case for the price. I've used it in my last 4 builds and I've never had anything less than complements. it's decently cheap, not too big, looks nice and slightly understated (at least it's not gaudy and 'designed for l33t gamers') and has plenty of fan slots/vents. Maybe more people will chime in on this point, but this is at least a solid budget recommendation in case nobody else has one for ya.

    Anti-Cheat Stand-Alone?

    double post.

    Anti-Cheat Stand-Alone?

Because the entire ARMA 2 game is about spawning in enemies and giving them little scripts to do stuff. You even get near developer/map designer powers in the game just by clicking the custom mission button. That is built in and accessible every time you launch arma2.exe Want to spawn ARMA 2 stuff in dayz mod, running in ARMA 2 which is designed for this kind of custom map/scripting? it's so easy it's stupid.. how about in dayz standalone where all the arma 2 content is gone? where all the built in custom scripting is removed or obscured? No more. That alone will dramatically lower hacking/scripting. BE will be much more effective when the hacking problem is seriously limited. No question. It's like moving a fire engine from a forest fire to a house fire. Just so much less to deal with.

    Hacker? You Decide....

I completely agree with Forceflare but also wanted to comment on your excessive shots. First of all, I know combat is extremely stressful & exciting, but I think you would live a lot longer if you were a bit more careful. I would never rush into a room with a guy I have the advantage on. If you had leaned from the door, taken your 2 or more shots (m14 aim is a 2 shot), and leaned back out there would have been no shooting back. That would be it. If you don't keep it clean then weird shit like this happens pretty often in DayZ. else you could have 3rd person viewed the hall from outside the door and waited until he was in a vulnerable spot to lean and shoot. I'm not an expert but i think you really opened your self up to lag/bad luck there. Sorry about losing all your stuff to bs :(

    Study Body in stand alone.

I don't know about being able to tell weapon caliber from just looking at the wound. I think you would have to have a lot of medical experience, especially working in the field on an unknown body. it seems unrealistic. I really do like the OPs suggestion though.
  8. Today I came across a duper/bandit camp after tracking down a few guys who had murdered me. The camp contained something like 8 vehicles. Bus, GAZ, URLx2, UAZx2, an offroad and Motorcycle. It also had what looked like duped tents with very suspicious loadouts., mostly civilian/Ghilli clothing, several of each machine gun, 24-slot backpacks, and misc supplies and a very few other guns. Naturally, recognizing this camp not only as a bandit camp but also a duper camp, I went to destroy it all.. but I'm unsure of exactly how effective I may have been. What I did was loot a MK 48 and shoot out the engine bay of each vehicles until flames erupted. I then used the remaining vehicle to run the tents down and drive off. It was very quick and dirty because I was afraid such a large camp would have unseen defenders. Also, I had just got into a firefight moments before I arrived, possibly alerting the owners to log in.. so, being afraid that the sheer size of the camp meant more people would log in to defend it, I rushed very quickly through the whole process and couldn't risk going back. So, what do you guys think; are the vehicles destroyed? or did I make a pretty big mistake by not stopping to save the charred remains? EDIT:: I'll also add that this was a private hive server. I don't know if that makes a difference.

    problem with humanity!

No, not correct. Enjoy being killed by random people that you're not even interested in murdering, because as a bandit you're going to be hunted by everybody. You did earn it though, so now you get to see what it feels like to try and be a decent human being in DayZ. It's going to take a while to work off your humanity, but I can't say I feel sorry for you.

My friend Clastpure. The scaredy sniper?

put it on a zombie corpse and then hide the body. Thanks. EDIT:: I forgot to say nice kill. very nice.
  11. IIII_joshua

    How do you loot?

If you have anything valuable, don't go to cherno. What could you want out of a bunch of civilian spawns? It's the biggest PvP hotspot on the map.. so you can pretty much expect to die. There is absolutely nothing in that town you can't get easier elsewhere.. except over geared snipers..

    Vehicular Armor Idea -{STANDALONE}-

I think the other two posters are missing the point of this thread. good suggestion & I'm glad to see it on the forums. Looks like a very interesting idea so far and I think it adds to the discussion. If I were a developer i'd book mark this post and enjoy the helpful idea. Again, nice job. You've got my beans.

    DE 1564 - Continuously locked

I think we can safely ignore porkchop1's comments.. Who among us -- except for script kiddies -- doesn't care for the quality of DayZ community? Nobody wants to see this game devolve into hackers vs cheating server admins. Some people forget that the nice things they have (in this case, a mostly stable and decent quality DayZ experience) is on the back of many developers and hard working server admins. If you think helping these people fight the good fight is non of our business you don't belong in the community. period. If you truly believe what you say, porkchip, you're nothing more than a liability to the rest of us. Spoiled kids with no sense of ethic lower the quality of the game for everybody. These people work hard to make the public hive a decent place.. and if you're not willing to work with them.. Lets put it this way, if all of the good hard working Admins went and formed a better, private hive (instead of giving you all the benefits for free).. do you think you are you the kind of person they would want to invite? or the kind that they would want to black list?

    DE 1564 - Continuously locked

If you want to play on the public hive there are rules. These rules keep the game fun for everybody. If he wants to play on a personal server he can generate his own hive. Otherwise his hoarding vehicles and rare items just makes the game less fun for everybody else on the entire public hives. Bad servers bring us all down.. nobody wants to face a constant stream of over geared server hoppers who have an invulnerable home base where they'll probably ban you if you join. This guy can probably use his super private camp + private chopper to attack any of our bases via server hopping.. and killing him won't stop him because he'd probably just reset his server and dupe his gear/vehicle back. He's one step up from a scriptkiddy and he needs to be removed from the public hive. If he wants to play on the public servers he's gonna have to play by the rules.

So its been awhile are tents still glitching?

Developers announced there is no fix until Arma 2 goes standalone. It's just not fixable without reworking the Arma II engine. So, instead of putting massive time and effort into Arma II they are writing a custom engine and releasing standalone ASAP. also this patch has had particular problems with vehicles and tents.. but they worked pretty well last patch and still kinda work now
