What a mature suggestion, very well described and argumented for aswell... I cannot fathom how anyone could reject such a thoughtful suggestion..
-
It's good stuff
-
Well they are, but you need ALOT of autoinjectors...or give them to someone who's allergic to opiates :P
-
It'll take way more than a couple of 10mg Morphine Autoinjectors to overdose on it. My SOP in afghanistan was to give a bolus of 20 mg IM (e.g. 2 autoinjectors) and then see if they needed more...

DMR zeroing different than in arma 2 original?
Riis replied to Daddy'o's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You can't change the zero on the DMR. But to answer the OPs question, my DMR in dayz is Zeroed at 300 meters, but i've noticed that the bullet drop from 300 to 400 is very very very low. -
Buy the game instead of using a pirated copy you looser.

Because these "kiddies" as you describe them have never felt any consequences from their actions. They think they can do whatever they want, and when they get banned from DayZ they DDoS the servers, because they want to ruin stuff for everyone else. What they seem to forget is that, at some point the devs are gonna find out who they are, and get the law on their tails. Thats what I like about the devs of DayZ, they got a no bullshit policy, if you fuck with em, they fuck you up big time. So I hope they find out who it is, and get the feds or whatever on his sorry little kiddie ass.

Weapon Russianization (WARNING: Big, detailed post)
Riis replied to Dreganius (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I don't get why this is such a big deal. But if you're seeking an explanation to why there's NATO weapons in Chernarus, then here's a pretty straight forward explanation. If you played the original Arma 2 game, you'd realise that there was a war between NATO and the Chedaki, so there's bound to be NATO weaponry in chernarus, looted by civilians, paramilitaries etc... Of course there should be more eastern / WW II style weapons around than high grade NATO weapons, but removing all NATO weapons from the mod and replacing them with crappy Eastern weapons is just a bad idea imo.. -
^^ this.

Considering that the main hive is being DDoS attacked you can't join official servers. So I think the reason that you're spawning without anything is because you're joining unofficial servers, and as such start from scratch.

Good post man. The NIJ certification is based around stopping pistol/rifle rounds. The higher the cert the higher the caliber. That spec was designed for police officers' date=' because in most cases they found cops were shot by their own weapons, which is why most departments have a vest capable of stopping which ever caliber they carry. MILITARY vests go through an additional test called FSP (fragmentation simulation projectile) because the military found that the largest threat is from frag, not actual rounds. So they are designed to stop frag first, then bullets (although they still go through the same NIJ cert test so class 3 is class 3 across the board). The funny thing is if you contact PPI (they make the MTV for the Marine Corps) and get to know then they will even tell you that the MTV is a custom mix just sold to the Marine Corps and they have other better options for non MC use. ((Experience- I work at one of the 5 labs in the USA certified to do the NIJ certification test.)) [/quote'] Much better explanation than from a grunt like me :) I just use whatever they give me :)

it would pop up with a small window saying "BattleEye: Banned" or "BattleEye: Global Banned"

To add this item you'd need to expand the medical system. first off, the C-A-T is a one time use item, the threads inside it tend to break when you use it, the "stick" bends etc.. Second, tourniquets are only useable on extremeties, which is why the medical system would need to be expanded. third, having a tourniquet on hurts like fuck, i've treated guys with blown off legs who try to loosen the CAT because it hurts more than them having their legs in shambles. Why do I care about this? Well, as a corpsman myself, I hate when people think you can use an item like the tourniquet to stop all bleedings, or use a defibrillator as a magical undeathifyer..

This' date=' and another post one or two before it, amaze me. No, you are completely wrong. Kevlar/vests worn in the field stop small arms (pistols, assault rifles, etc.) from around 20-30 feet, obviously with varying effectiveness. When you're hit, there's still serious impact damage done to your body - ranging from broken ribs to internal bleeding - but they can absolutely stop a bullet from penetrating your body. [b']EDIT: Just so that we don't have to spend three pages debating this: "A ballistic vest, bulletproof vest or bullet-resistant vest is an item of personal armor that helps absorb the impact from firearm-fired projectiles and shrapnel from explosions, and is worn on the torso. Soft vests are made from many layers of woven or laminated fibers and can be capable of protecting the wearer from small-caliber handgun and shotgun projectiles, and small fragments from explosives such as hand grenades. Metal or ceramic plates can be used with a soft vest, providing additional protection from rifle rounds, and metallic components or tightly woven fiber layers can give soft armor resistance to stab and slash attacks from knives and similar close-quarter weapons. Soft vests are commonly worn by police forces, private citizens, security guards, and bodyguards, whereas hard-plate reinforced vests are mainly worn by combat soldiers, police tactical units, and hostage rescue teams. Modern body armor may combine a ballistic vest with other items of protective clothing, such as a combat helmet. Vests intended for police and military use may also include ballistic shoulder and side protection armor components, and bomb disposal officers wear heavy armor and helmets with face visors and spine protection." As for helmets, many modern combat helmets have interwoven kevlar/twaron protection - which means, as stated before, they're more resistant to lower caliber bullets, such as those used in shotgun pellets and handguns. They're not that useful, but they're a lot more useful than no helmet at all. You're both right. Body armor used by most infantry units over the world has shrapnel and fragment protection as the primary function. Add to that a ceramic/metal plate to stop a couple of high velocity rounds. Now the body armor wore in afghanistan was a fragmentation vest with 36 layer kevlar softarmor designed to slow down fragments, predetermined by the weave method (not sure if thats the right word, english is not my native language :) ) And 2 ceramic plates Level III designed to stop fragments aswell, but after doing some tests, we found out they could stop a couple of AK rounds before breaking. As john says, having your body armor stop shrapnel / bullets does not equal you not taking damage, broken ribs, internal hemorrhage, ruptured organs are all part of being hit while wearing body armor, you just lessen the risk of getting holes in your body. Now the arma 2 engine, and DayZ already uses body armor, the plate carrier that survivors wear actually does something in terms of protection, try shooting a guy in the chest from the front, and then from the side with a small caliber weapon, and you'll see that the damage differs (at least it did when i tested it with a mate). Now I don't think we need more armor options as there's no stamina system in the game, and there's no consequences from being overheated, but when these things find their way into the mod, I'd be all for adding a few more armor options, in terms of new soft armor and different types of trauma plates. Durability of said trauma plates should be very low considering that when they stop 1 round the structure of the trauma plate is misaligned and the protection of the trauma plate is compromised, and its really uncomfortable to run around with a trauma plate with a huge dent in it :P. Just my 2 cents.

Ander came into my teamspeak and told me not to ban, but kick for it. Johnny [/quote'] read through the whole thread, its there somewhere, i can't be assed to do it right now. -
