I think its moddable, there's a weight system in ACE, implementing that, adding some percentile values and you could increase / decrease the speed of the animation. However, I think the load on the server might become too much..

Yeah most modern military uniforms has an IR coating that does exactly that.

Not really, shifting gear into position could be the answer to that delay, otherwise just use the "evade" key which has no default afaik. That gets ya standing and running in no time.

Well reading through this thread (and agreeing with ace + dayz) I have to agree with Psyl3nt on the CoD Kiddies comment in the title. Yes there are alot of action FPS style players in DayZ, and they're having their fun in elektro and cherno, very easily avoided. There are also people who have played more or less every single military FPS since doom (like myself) who take this game seriously, and enjoy sneaking about being tactical in the approach to a situation. Am I offended by the title? No, but the title does not promote a mature debate about ace and dayz, it provokes instead... But to get back to the Ace Dayz thingy, Xeno has stated that they have no interest in Dayz, but what kind of features from ACE could be good to see in DayZ? Here's my list of ACE wanted features: Armor / Hit locations. Stamina system Advanced Ammo Bipods Revamped sniper system Better Chem light handling And cant really think of more right now, will have to boot up ACE :P Been awhile since I played it and I just take those things for granted.

Thing is your suggestions are based on what you've seen in movies, and what you've read in books about zombies. What I would need from this game before I could come up with something to make them better for gameplay reasons is what has that virus done to them, does it increase their metabolism? Does it make their bodies produce massive amounts of adrenaline? Does it mutate them? what does it do? And how can we give the infected new properties and abilities etc. if we don't know that? I might just be overthinking it, but as I said, I like to have background info before I can come up with suggestions about these things :). So I apologise for criticising, but there's a reason as to why im doing it :).

Not really, do you know what kind of virus they're infected with? What it has done to their bodies? No you don't, so lets stop overthinking it and play the game, at some point im sure rocket will explain the hows and whats about the infection.

I'm not sure who's more noob, the guy who "might've" ghosted (you got no proof) or the guy who doesn't switch position after a kill as a sniper. This aint your run of the mill FPS action run around shooter game, quickscoping doesn't work in arma ;)

Ah so thats how it makes you feel warmer, not actually warmer, well I never bothered to figure it out. Potentially it could stop you from freezing it seems(or thats what some google results put up, aswell finding this video ), so perhaps one day it would have use if there was a seasonal change with snow added. Just for fun, I'll explain what happens. When its cold, the bloodvessels of your extremities constrict (vasocontriction) keeping the warm blood in the core. Now when you smoke, or drink alcohol the bloodvessels dilate (vasodilation) causing the warm blood in the core to go into your extremities, making you feel warm, but your core temperature drops :).
