  1. Military base near Balota, guy ran up to me and smacked me in the head with an axe...I ran away and survived :)
  2. Well yesterday I had a great first day in DayZ. Me and a couple of army buddies decided to gang up in the stand alone like we did in the mod. I had died once trying to find one of the guys around zelenogorsk and had respawned only to get an axe in the noggin while rummaging through a military base around what i think was Balota. I managed to get clear, bandage myself and find the north star. So I started heading north, hoping to catch the power lines on the way and follow them west to zelenogorsk. However, I suddenly found myself around Kozlovka and we agreed to meet up in the middle by finding the power lines and following them. My mate had some trouble with a graphical glitch so we started trying to find out what triggered that bug and if we could fix it, it took awhile, so that didnt work...So i had to guide him to zelenogorsk. On the way there my mate got blinded by the bug. I was about 100 meters behind him and saw movement to the left. This guy had a tactical helmet, a weapon, large backpack and he had definatly seen my mate. My friend in his ever growing wisdom had given me his M4 when the bug started, so at least i could defend us if this guy proved to be hostile. I told my mate to hit the deck, and I did the same. My mate couldn't see anything, but i had my eyes on this unknown who had also hit the deck, he got up and ran back towards a fence with 3 single trees to the south. I could see on his movement that he had not seen me, his only thought was on my mate who was scared shitless cause he couldnt see him. I spent about 5 minutes watching him, he moved around up near the fence trying to spot my mate who was prone in the middle of this field. After a bit he disappeared from my view, so i started crawling very slowly up the hill, keeping my distance to him. After about 5 minutes of slow crawl i had made it to the fence, 1 minute later i was behind his last known position, in cover, perfect sightline down towards his position. And thats when he stood up to get a better view of where we were...such an impatient young man, his rifle was raised, but so was mine, and he had not seen me, nor could he see my mate. 3 shots broke the silence, 2 in the chest, 1 in the head..He hit the ground with a thud. Victory! We divided the spoils between us and buried the body. I'd hoped I didnt have to shoot him, but he was a threat that had to be dealt with. After a bit, my mate and I headed towards zelenogorsk in search of food and water, and our 3rd mate who was heading towards us from pavlovo.

Well 3rd degree burns are of course very serious if you dont manage to treat them the burn will continue, evaporating fluids from the body and destroying tissue. Also there will be pain combined with 3rd degree burns, but the pain is from the 2nd and 1st degree burns surrounding the 3rd and 4th degree burns :)

just FYI, 3rd degree burns are painless as the nerve ends have been destroyed, the thing that hurts when you've been 3rd degree burned are the 2nd degree burns that follows.

Idea my Girl had for Cars\Trucks

So this is what happens when I would find your car with the keys out. -Pick up rock from the ground -Rock through window -knife into ignition -turn untill car starts VOILA! It doesnt take much to start old cars like the ones in the game. So go ahead and take your keys out, It'll be stolen anyways.

I had a thought while my girlfriend was taking some painmeds, I know im weird :P. But alot of painkillers on the market are also bloodthinners (for example, Kodimagnyl, aspirin, ibuprofen). So maybe add different types of painkillers to the game, and while under the influence of some of them, you will bleed more if you're shot, gashed and whatnot. But there should of course also be some painkillers like Pamol, Panodil etc, which will just work as a mild painreliever without the blood thinning effect ? Just a thought :).

Haldid / Fentanyl is a morphine product, but its not an opiate which is why you can use it on people who are allergic to Opiates :).

No, it cools you down, but it feels like you're getting warmer.

Tourniquet: Perhaps add the C-A-T to the game as a fast temporary solution to bleedings on the extremeties. Would need to be replaced with a bandage at some point. Would cause severe pain untill removed. EDIT: Drinking alcohol as a painreliever while suffering from bloodloss / broken bones could induce hypothermia, but shouldn't show in the "meter"

Well I'll be keeping an eye on this thread and if you want, I'll give my opinion and experiences from a realistic view, which someone else can then take apart and perhaps get to work in a game enviroment :).

My thoughts of this pvp thing

"Just some way that the 5 hours of game play dosn't go to waste." Dude thats the whole point of perma death, if you don't like it, you picked the wrong game.

Adrenaline + Some sort of Prozac.

Aye thats true, but we're talking about doing IM/IV adrenaline/epi here, and if you have a GSW, its going to bleed more than before if you do that.

Yeah it constricts the vessels, and thus increases the bloodpressure, also it increases the heart rate thus forcing more blood to be pumped out of those vessels. Learn a bit about human anatomy before you read Wikis.
