SurvivalServers (DayZ)

I was under the assumption the daytime/nightime rule was to prevent people from changing the time zone every day to prevent night time scenarios. I think this is a great rule but it should be clarified in the rules a bit more clearly how many time zone changes are allowed and what is and isn't acceptable (specifically). Why can't servers stay offline? You said "or only having the server run sometimes instead of 24/7" associated with "no daytime/nightime only servers" doesn't seem to be related.

I believe there must have been a mistake on Vilayer's end. I don't see why they'd give you a server that's not whitelisted. :)

So you are just doing a whois search to make sure it's not residential? Good idea but it seems even that could be automated. Take the major ISPs and add them to the block filter.

Looks like the DayZ staff have updated the whitelist times.. I updated the post to reflect that. 6 days away!

Good to hear, thanks for this information. It seems to me you guys are spending a lot of time on each order.. is there a way you can automate some of these tasks? I had an idea of building a request form that is outside of WHMCS. A simple form which would save the orders and be able to make multiple requests (instead of having to enter the same information over and over again). Upon form submission, all of the specs would be checked against the minimum requirements so that would filter out all of the bad requests. Is there automation generating the mission files from the DayZ backend? Seems that could cut down a lot of time as well.. right now you have to upload the mission file to WHMCS, manually copy over the instance / server ID. Just some ideas.. the more transparency we have the better I think. Really happy that you posted this!

Jonathan I really hope this means shorter approval times! That said, you are doing great work.. all of my support tickets have been answered VERY quickly and you are a professional guy which I think everyone appreciates.

DayZ whitelisting can take anywhere from 24 hours to 8 days.. it's kind of hard to plan ahead when it takes them that long. We have a bunch of servers in queue right now so once we are whitelisted we'll be good to go for a while.

Yes you are correct, it is a Hive / 1.7.2.5 problem that is not allowing for proper saves, not a server host issue. We have purchased a Florida location but are waiting to be whitelisted, East coast will be available asap, we will keep you posted.

If you look at your in-game watch does it show the same time as your server name suggests?

Look into getting a Radeon 5770 (6770 is the same) or a 6870. Both are cheaper than your budget and will fix these in-game problems.

Confirmed with 1.7.2.5 as well, there are numerous multi-page threads discussing this very issue.

Check your versions using DayZ Commander.

I don't get the whole "Alpha" argument. Just because you are sick of seeing these posted again and again doesn't mean he doesn't have a point. Maybe he should be posting in the proper threads though. :)
