Hey guys, I had a question for ya. If I were to host an old school DayZ server, say 1.7.3 - how many people would be interested in playing? I'm talking about a full-on dedicated server with custom anti-cheats and staying true to the original DayZ vibe.

I find so much enjoyment in murdering people in DayZ. I don't know why but nothing compares to sneaking up behind someone and slamming an axe into the back of their head or putting a bullet in their brain. I don't even kill people for loot anymore. I think of it as a sport really. You guys can come on the forums and complain about people killing people, but in the end this is what makes the game enjoyable for a vast majority. Mad cuz someone shot you? Then stay hidden and stealthy. Trust only those you are friends with and are part of your group.

THIS. Many a time have I wanted to lay down and instead my character's all like "LOLNOPE" stands up from crouch and precedes to jump off a building. Has happened to me more than once and each time I've died laughing

This community is both one of the most brutal and also one of the most rewarding. It is what you make of it. Trust nobody but yourself or the group you run with is the best advice I can give

So far I am quite pleased with the release and am happy to support development. I was sort of skeptical at first but I'm glad I bought it and tried it out, as bare bones as it is it feels like I'm playing DayZ for the first time again. I can't wait to see where this goes and I can't wait for all the fun times I'm gonna have with friends. To those who are hating on it or don't like it, or if you haven't purchased it yet; It's been said a million times and it'll be said a million more times, it's an Alpha. The purpose of it is to get feedback, find and squash bugs, and test the game so far in general. It in no way reflects how it will be in it's full release form. Don't get annoyed, don't get all pissed off or bent out of shape and ragequit and start shit on the forums. Remember that your constructive feedback is what will drive this game to be a success and that's what it's all about right now. And don't eat rotten fruit, I literally died from eating a rotten banana XD

Arma 2 wasn't an alpha and was easily worth $60, that game is fun once you get into it. I also bought it just to play DayZ, but I found myself playing the original game just as much. And this here is a standalone game, that you just saved $30 on. A while from now when it's fully released and your having a blast running around like a drunken madman smacking everything that moves with your axe, you're gonna be glad you bought it

This isn't a bug, it's just the new zombie feature for the holidays. They hang up christmas lights now. Nothing to worry about :)

I was eating/drinking almost constantly, was even taking vitamin bottles, recently had charcoal strips to cure my disease from my rotten banana, and yet I was just walking through a field, no red messages, character sounded completely fine and boom. UNCONSCIOUS

You should be fine, I'm playing it on a pc with worse specs than that

I think Rust looks pretty cool but it's so unoriginal and too many one eyed snakes in the jungle

I'm having fun so far personally, put in 3 hours, got some stuff. Saw another player for the first time run into a house next to mine to loot it and my heart skipped a beat - if I had been in that house looting for any longer he could've easily came up behind me and put an axe in my head Sorry you're not having fun, but that doesn't mean come QQ on the forums like every other child

Doubled my FPS in Cherno, went from a stuttering mess to a steady 28-33 which is good enough for me! Have my beans sir!

I gained about 15 FPS outside of cities, gonna run to cherno and see how it goes there

I'll try some of these out and let you know how it goes. I'm on a $400 dell computer and I can run SA with everything on low settings at 40+ FPS out of town and around 15 in towns dayz config is located at C:\Users\USER\Documents\DayZ

I like not having icons, so I think it's great so far. I can understand needing a drink of water often because of how much running I do in the game as well, but I think it's a little extreme at the moment.
