It's a shame that I got kicked and couldn't record the whole thing, but it was still pretty fun :P For those who don't want to watch the video: I was walking down the coast near cherno when I was checking a barn, I found a double barrel so I felt a little safer to run through cherno. Seconds later, a guy asks in side chat who ran into the barn near prigo, referring to me. He had a friend with him and apparently there was another guy in the area, so they all went into the barn together. I had the drop on them and could've easily taken out 2 of them, instead I dropped my weapon and told them I was upstairs. So after this they took me hostage in the barn and started to try to interrogate me and ask me where my camps were, etc. Of course I told them nothing as I was a fresh spawn and had nothing to lose, but I kept doing small talk with them and making the situation last much longer than it should've. Behold, a while into the interrogation the hero skin with the MK 48 Mod 0 fell off the top of the barn while the other two guys just stood there. So I walked to the bottom of the barn, bandaged him, and lured the zombies away from him while he was knocked out. Once he woke up, he morphined and went back to his position and was aiming at my face yet again. You think he would've let me go since I saved his life while his buddies just stood there, but nope I was still a hostage. So my clan decided to come help me out. During this entire thing, my friends were on their way to my position ready to kill them if they killed me. One of my guys stood outside while the other stood on the opposite side in the trees with a DMR. After a while my internet decided to crash and then I couldn't get back into the server because of the awesome "something went wrong!" message. So while i was DC'ed, one of my guys threw a grenade into the barn and knocked them out, one of them combat logged. The guys in the barn tried to run out and started firing on my friends, so my friends took both of them out but left their bodies because they were being good sports and it was a fun experience. Now, if you read all of that here's what I recorded of the situation.

everything maxed out, but with shadows disabled, my game runs really well and still looks nice

Have fun logging into the ocean every time you wanna play with a broken leg, that's why I ditched my hero skin.

there's a small barn off the side of the road south of polana, the coords are 103 079. Inside the barn to the left is a hay bale, if you're careful you can place your ten INSIDE of it so barely the string shows up, I have a tent there and it hasn't been found in almost a month, nobody bothers to go inside there because there's usually garbage loot, nobody expects a tent there.

The Scar H STD, is this gun a legit spawn in dayz? someone just killed me with one from 252m, never seen or head of this gun before was just wondering.

i am on a public hive, vanilla dayz

every time i log out or lose connection, when I come back into the game I log back on at the shore and all my gear is missing. what's up with that?

Day 5. Still stuck in the bathroom in the barracks at NWAF. Legs are broken and a bench is blocking the doorway preventing me to exit. There is a corpse in the room beside me and i bet you he has morphine on him. Fun stuff.

you may have just saved my life. I stood up, pressed V, and I literally belly flopped onto the bench and crawled out XD

yeah i'd rather my secondary be a melee weapon than a cruddy pistol >.>

yeah a bandit posing as a hero...most REAL bandits I know will NEVER become a hero, one guy in my clan has negative 500k humanity, that's 2 thousand blood bags just to hit 0

Do you lose all your items as soon as the script kiddies make your character dance? The server I was on was just hacked and as soon as I started dancing I logged out, apparently you lose all your items when this happens?

I would try to stick to a private hive or a whitelist, still lot's of hackers out there. Other than that, mods fine, game is still fun and intense as always.

So been playing this for about 2 weeks, I played back when the mod first went public and I just started playing again. Anywaayyss, i'm just looking for a fun-loving group/clan that doesn't take the game TOO seriously, looking for some chill people with a good sense of humor :P I do have a mic and I can download any communication software if need be, or join a hive, etc. I am 19 so i'm not an annoying squeaker, I live in the US, I'm pretty active I usually get on dayz every day, I play arma alot so I guess i'm a pretty decent shot, if that helps or anything XD anyways yeah, just lookin for some buddies :D thanks in advance

This felt awesome, and I had to make a post about it. So me and my brother had just met up and looted cherno and we decided to head east and do a quick run through elektro. As we were going I saw another player standing a fair distance ahead of us, I thought he saw us because he stopped moving. I couldn't tell if he was aiming at us or not, but I told my brother and he ran into nearby bushes and i went prone into a ditch. The player was hiding in bushes as well further up the shore. I told my brother to make a run for it and to see if he follows you. So my brother ran out of the bushes and headed west back towards cherno. A few minutes later, the other player started running after him, which is when I noticed his bandit cowl and high powered rifle. I took out my winchester, shot him once for the knockout then shot him again for the kill. He was fully geared with an ak47 and an m16 in his bag, it seemed he was bored and decided to hunt some new players on the shore. Unluckily for him, I guess he only saw my brother and not me :P I know this isn't really all that impressive, but it felt awesome :D

So, does your character not transfer to other servers anymore? Haven't played in like 6 months. I remember you could log onto other servers and still have your character from the last time you played. I am transferring between the official dayz servers and my character data does not follow.

I understand completely what you're saying Lanevo. And don't listen to the assholes above, this community has already turned to shit. Better to go play another game until this mod develops more, it was way better back around when it was first released.

I'm worried about logging in and dying to hackers, I see that some players are saying that there are still exploits happening. Is it on a mass scale as before, or are there just a small amount of cheats going on at the moment?

Hmmm, gonna log on today and see how things go :D

I helped a guy out yesterday, his name was Treyce, he was running from a horde of zombies down a road and I stopped by to pick them off and let him escape. About 15 mins later his death message popped up in chat XD So many cool experiences and stories with this mod. I kept wondering how the guy I had rescued managed to die so suddenly afterwards.
