it looks like some servers are on this "new" hive, while some are still on the "old" one. I've confirmed this by logging in and out of a variety of different public hive servers, sometimes logging into the woods with a dmr, and other times logging in with a lee enfield on the docks

This just started happening today, where our server auto-restarts and when it comes back up all the players/objects on the server are rolled back to about 12 hours ago. If we restart the server right after and leave it off for about 2 minutes, when we turn it back on all of the players gear and objects on the map are returned to normal. Our host is HFB servers, and we are on the public hive. Has anyone else had this problem as well/ any ideas on what could be causing this? EDIT: I just saw the post about the hive maintenance which is probably the issue, sorry for not checking that out first

One of my favorite videos of us so far, worth a watch in my opinion thanks for checking it out Play with us on our new server, US 6299
-
i'm curious, do you guys think the video quality is okay?
-

No pizza hut for me....yet ;)

I came close to claiming the $20, brick sure is a slippery mcgee though :P
-
Most of the time, but if you play on one with active admins that know what to look for you'll be fine
-
same way as a private hive man, try and connect to our public and see if you have any luck, the server name is US 520 173.208.85.82:2332

worst spot: tallest tower in cherno. I can't count how many snipers i've killed who try to log on and kill people there
-
Just some more clips of me and the homies messing about in DayZ, enjoy :)
-
Hero skin is given to you when your humanity is above 5000, so yeah if you aren't killing people and being a good dude you'll have high humanity
-
Yeah, I added both of them as well, not sure who's the legit guy lol

Heya, brand new server i'm hosting myself, looking for some players to test connectivity/lag issues that may occur. Anyways, if you're bored come check it out :) It's vanilla dayz on chernarus right now with some extra start gear and a few custom loot tables. So yeah, feel free to stop by :) Server name (currently): DayZ5530 IP: 50.121.56.98: default port
-
Not sure if this will effect anything but the server name is now DayZ 5530 with a space :D we have a few players already, always looking for bandits/survivors to make things interesting!

So I haven't really found any up to date tutorials on how to set up a private hive. My goal is to just set up a server on my home pc for me and a few friends and maybe some other people to play on. If anyone could link me to a tutorial that's actually relevant, i would be very appreciative. I already know how to host an arma 2 server, just having issues with finding download links and whatnot :/

what's the best loot you lost from a untimely death caused by yourself or a friend.
Tr1x replied to jdtherocker's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
when you're crouching on top of a high place and you decide to go prone, and for whatever reason your character decides to stand up, sprint, and dive off the top and fall to his death. Has happened to me many times :D lol -
I'm not really sure what to call this video, so check it out for yourself. The intro is a WIP :P

great shot, would've been more impressive though if you didn't waste so much ammo trying to get it :P

When you first log in at the bottom right of the screen it will tell you where you are. It will say Chernarus which is the post-soviet country DayZ is based in, and under that it will tell you which city/town you spawn near. You can figure out your location and where to go to find loot using this map http://dayzdb.com/map. When you spawn in, you'll always be near the coast. As far as how to use weapons goes, play the tutorials in arma 2 and do some missions in there or play around in the armory and you'll know the weapons like the back of your hand Zombies have to walk inside buildings, so the best way to lose them right now is to run through a building and make sure they follow you inside, then you run away from the building while they're still in there. Or if you manage to break LOS (line of sight) they will lose interest. The best way to deal with zombies effectively and quietly is to use a hatchet which you can find in barns. To equip the hatchet, after you pick it up you must right click it and remove it from your toolbelt. Never use big firearms to deal with zombies unless it is absolutely necessary, and if you can't use a hatchet the next best thing is getting headshots via pistols. If you really want an in-depth guide visit this link: http://dayz.gamepedia.com/A_Beginners_Guide. It will tell you everything you need to know down to the most minute details. I wouldn't recommend getting help by another person in-game because you should learn from experience and not be tutored to play towards another persons playstyle. Good Luck out there, and remember that players are more dangerous than Z's.

yeah, whenever I meet someone I always have them run in front of me for this reason, and if they don't comply then I take 'em out

yeah, the bean wars have returned!

What's the current state of hacking?
Tr1x replied to Luke42_02's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
public servers are infested with hackers, private hives have hackers that are more careful about getting caught -
if you're with a group the game never gets boring, and if it does get boring find a new group

Will Snipers Be Removed Or At Least Tweaked In S.A?
Tr1x replied to Pokerguy12's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree, in a zombie apocalypse you wouldn't see dozens of people running around with 50 cal snipers, make them rarer or remove them entirely.
