Well following usual trend, next Tuesday release! If not the tuesday after!
-
Next Tuesday at the earliest!
-
I know that's what I was saying?
-
Personally I wouldn't really even pay attention to those updates, they could be anything, not necessarily even the game. I'd just look out for large scale tests!
-
Remember though he wasn't even sure if the optimisations were successful enough because of the crash, so even though they've fixed the crash it still might not be optimised enough!
-
Rocket some pretender joined the chat then left hahaha
-
Nice to see regular updates, an update a minute ago, hopefully they fixed that client crash!
-
Rocket said on Reddit that 50 players was the most they would need to test, because after that they could just scale it up with a fair degree of accuracy. I'm looking out for a 50 player test personally!
-
No he means its going to be a wild west after release and people will be astounded at the SA on youtube AFTER release.
-
Woah woah lets keep this clean! Talk of tying people to tracks is a little inappropriate?

Nice!

''NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. We really blew this one. I've taken the article with the above headline down simply because it appears to have been so far off the mark that updating it would be not only an inadequate remedy but may have the potential to continue to misinform. As the editor, the publishing of this story is my fault and my fault alone. I apologize to our readers as well as to Dean Hall, who I've reached out to for comment. (If he declined, I'd certainly understand.) Once we have heard from Mr. Hall, or later this afternoon regardless, I'll update the story. Again, my apologies. - Logan Decker'' http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/11/11/dayz-standalone-version-delayed-due-to-bugs-and-poor-optimization/

I'm hoping we get a dayZ daily today, not off rocket in particular but maybe Hicks?
-
I'd say if everything is on track, yeah
-
Impressed that they're working through the weekend! I wonder if that was to fix the zombies clipping through walls issue?
-
Mods cleared some of the posts.
-
That tweet that Rocket made about the zombie wall collision made me laugh, glad that will be sorted for the standalone!
-
True but I can't remember the last server I had bad FPS on!
-
Obviously depends on the person :P I get about 30-40 FPS in cities!
-
The server FPS is different. For example Rocket said that at 5FPS on the server side, the zombies were rubber banding and glitching. If the server FPS is too low then players and AI start not working properly,. This is different to your personal client side FPS, which just controls how smooth the game is (in simple terms).
-
I think Dean is going to pass out from answering all these questions, it's bloody 12.30 in Prague haha
-
I was humouring the conspiracies but I don't believe Hick_206's tweet about bullets being in the Standalone was anything but a tease or joke.

''Optimization can be very frustrating, and it's probably not as "fun" as creating something. But certainly optimization is probably less complex than developing code netcode architecture. It's fairly reactive... run app, watch what is happening... optimize the things taking the most time... repeat.'' http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1q7bcs/teased_tormented_abusedcome_on_rocket_and_co_give/cda0580 That sounds very promising!
-
''I don't think we will bother testing above 50. If that happened it would not be planned. If no compounding FPS issues are experienced at 50 we know it scales well, and it means your average ArmA2 dedi server can hold 50 and a super-server could do more.'' http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1q7bcs/teased_tormented_abusedcome_on_rocket_and_co_give/cda01oc
