DayZero: What did i just play?

I like the fact that I can max out the view distance and still keep 50 - 60 fps pretty consistently on DayZero, where in Vanilla it would be unplayable for me.

    I have a presale question.

Steam has some pretty good sales fairly often. A few weeks back you could buy the entire ARMA II collection for something like $15 if I remember correctly. Keep an eye out there.

    Chernarus, the unasked questions

How do zombies remember the manners their mothers taught them to not run in the house, but somehow forget to not eat people?

    Current State of the Game

Hey Guys, I used to play DayZ pretty hardcore, but haven't been able to play in about 4 months. As soon as I get some stuff squared away I am getting back into playing. I was wondering, what is the current state of the game? What's new and changed since I last stepped foot into Cherno? Thanks everybody
  5. In my little over a month of playing the people I've encountered have resulted in about a 50/50 mixture of either trying to kill me or wanting to team up. I've hooked up with some great people and great groups and had lots of fun, and then been shot in the back while trying to help another survivor flee zombies. This is what I love about the PvP element of this game and hate at the same time. I try to play DayZ the same as if I was in the situation. If I came face to face with a real-live person in a post apocalyptic world, I couldn't murder them in cold blood. If I was threatened however, you better bet if I have a choice between them or me, I choose them to take the bullet. If more people played this way the game would be more fun. It's easy to take a .50 cal and snipe every person you see in a game and lots of people look at it as just that, a game...The game just becomes so much more fun in my opinion when you can immerse yourself in it. That's why when I see other survivors in game I usually just try to avoid contact or simply hide. It adds a level of intensity knowing that anyone you see could be your savior or your murderer...just as it would be in the real world. A smart person with a weapon is much more dangerous than a mindless zombie.

    Infection

I appreciate it but the next time I spawned in, I was healthy again...go figure.

    Infection

So I stayed cold too long and got an infection. I can find online that once you bleed down to 6000 blood you stop bleeding but continue coughing. Until I can (hopefully) find some antibiotics, what happens now? If I bleed down to 6000, stop bleeding, then either eat or get a transfusion to gain blood, what happens then? Do I start bleeding all over?

Me and my group helped a player

I came across two guys in the southern airfield that both only had hatchets one night. I had NVG's and an M4 so I helped them find guns and then we went and took care of some of the snipers in Cherno. Good night.
  10. After a long journey I was almost to Green Mountain(just a few hundred yards away) when I got teleported back to the coast. I said forget it.

    Fire!

I figured as much. Yeah I was glad to make it out of there, had too much cool crap to lose to that jerk!

    Fire!

So last night I was playing and came across a helicopter crash site. As I was searching the place a guy appeared in front of me in a ghillie suit. I just assumed I had overlooked him, and was mad at myself for not being cautious enough. Thankfully he didn't shoot, but he seemed shifty. I decided I didnt want to stick around so I took off. As I ran away I noticed the whole horizon was on fire. Anybody else had anything like this happen? As I ran I realized the dude was teleporting onto my position time after time, so I left the server.

    Want to play DayZ but..

Hey Everybody, I've never been into pc gaming but recently heard about ARMA 2 and the DayZ mod and wanted to try it out. My computer is a few years old and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to run the game. To try to find out I downloaded the ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead demo. Even on the lowest settings the game is super slow and glitchy in my movements and such, to the point of being unplayable. Again I know nothing about PC gaming and very little about computers. With that demo acting this way, does that mean DayZ will be just as unplayable? My system consists of AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ 2.1 GHz CPU Speed 2.0 GB RAM Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 6001), 32-bit GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 Video Card 154.4 GB Free Disc Space Thanks for any input.
