I'd count that as being unlucky.

DayZ Commander is a very helpful tool that makes joining and finding servers extremely easy. It also allows you to install the additional "expansions" (Origins, Panthera, etc etc) very easily. I use DayZ commander and it's great. What server you should begin with? I'd suggest finding a good private hive server, something with proper admins, a nice community and not too many mods or additions. I currently play on Balota Buddies, which got a lot of helpful and nice members and it's full of great admins, I love it here and you could gladly check it out if you want to (Send me a PM or something and I'll forward you). The hives that are connected to each other are public hives. As someone mentioned above, playing on these has almost no joy anymore, unfortunately. When you join a private hive, you'll have your character bound to that specific hive and nothing will be transferred to other hives unless it's bound between the hives (Mostly if for example a community has multiple servers you may be able to keep your stuff bound within those servers) I would definitely go with playing the standard normal DayZ on the map Chernarus to actually get used to it all. When you've got your ropes tied then you could expand to more maps. When the standalone comes out you will have to buy that, you won't get it free because you already have Arma 2 / Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead. Tips I can give you? Be careful who you trust, always be on the safe side and don't get attached to what you own, it will be gone eventually. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, and I'll be glad to help in any way I can.

I don't see them similar at all. Both have zombies, what else? Axes? People are making too much hype of this. Rust isn't even close to anything like DayZ, and DayZ isn't anything close to Rust. It's like how people compare Cube World to Minecraft, Cube World focuses on combat and RPG while Minecraft focuses on building. DayZ focuses on combat, survival while Rust focuses on survival, building.

Are you trying different servers? If you log into the same server on Chernarus then it's most likely the server.
-
Since when did logging out become cheating? He did nothing wrong, to be honest. He didn't get fired upon, he wasn't in direct danger, so it's pretty much a normal log-out with action nearby.

Actually sounds a little bit interesting. I will check it out soon. -
No fucking wonder why you're infected, mate.

I just go to medic base in Tulga.
-
Why do people say it's hard? I mean, just download DayZ Commander, go to the "Install / Update" button, install the Arma patch, the DayZ patch and you're ready to go.
-
I don't see the problem with no PvP servers. Have you ever sat up a sandbag fort at NWAF and sprayed zombies with an LMG? It's kinda fun.
-
I'd imagine crafting making it easier to gear up. It would be weird for people to leave when they actually get offered the ability to build bases. But yeah, you go back to your developing and I wont keep you here with more nonsense. Good work so far.

Checking your ammo in Standalone

Let me give you a scenario where something similar to this would be useful. If Rocket decided to implement the ability to right-click magazines in the backpack and press "Examine" and "Reload Magazine" then it would be another story. "Examine" could say for example "This magazine is half full" if it has about 15 bullets, whilst "Reload Magazine" lets you reload that one specific magazine you examined. If you have three magazines in your backpack, one with 5 bullets, one with 10 and one with 20, and you examine all of them, then you can right-click the one with 20 bullets and press "Reload Magazine" and it would reload the one with 20 bullets, that's the only way I see something like this would be useful. -

Exactly, pay a bit of attention to your shooting and this animation is useless. -
Yes, you do have a point, I just don't like seeing people losing interest in DayZ for something as little as that. But oh well, they'll be filtered out when Standalone brings more sicknesses anyways. By the way, I really dislike zeds spawning inside buildings, just throwing that out there.

Checking your ammo in Standalone

You just said in your current post that I will "hate the stand alone" because I find this animation useless, I don't see how the standalone is relevant to this at all, at least not yet. The reason why I find this useless? Because, with a little it of brains you don't need to waste time on an animation. Most people shoot away half their mag, then reload to have a full one (leaving then with a half in their backpack). Reloading always loads the most full mag in your backpack. If you have three magazines, shoot away half of one, reload, then you have one full in your gun and one full in the backpack. You know for sure that you can shoot away half the mag and reload again, leaving you with yet another full mag. Next time you reload you know the mag you shot the least bullets with will be reloaded, so just keeping a little bit of track up in your brain will tell you almost exactly how many bullets you have, and when you have them. -
Lets say 25 of those 50 people look in thw wrong place. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaning or saying that the spawn rates and such are flawed, it just hurts a bit to see people play DayZ less because of the infection.

If the standalone is full of animations that tell you how many bullets you have left and such, then yes. -
Well, Razor, "My own experience" isn't only MY experience. If you've read around on the forums you can find a lot of people having the same problems, seems like 50% of the population have a hard time finding Antibiotics while the other half is lucky.

Seems kinda useless to me, to be honest. I mean, I know how many bullets each mag got, so if I shoot for a bit then I don't have to waste time on taking out the mag to know that it's half empty (which is why I'd rather want a way to actually count the bullets yourself, it puts the player into action and it's not as "useless" as some text saying the magazine is half full.) -
Well, 1% chance to cure an infection which kills you no matter what. Considering Antibiotics are very rare too and the infection occurs really fast then it's hard to actually get it away. You need a tent to sleep, and if you start off as a lone wolf all alone, finding a tent can be really hard. That gives me a question, can you sleep in any tent or just your own in your current life? Anyways, 1% every 5 minutes seems a bit low considering how common the infection is, that's what I was trying to say.

I don't see how taking the mag out of a gun tells you how full it is. -
I don't remember where I read it, but I think it was somewhere on this forums. I could try to find a source for it. Edit: Posted by Razor himself, "* [uPDATED] - Rest to provide a 1% chance to cure infection (Can only be done once every 5 mins)"
-
If I recall correctly, there's a 1% chance to cure infection from sleeping, a bit low? I haven't touched the sleep button yet tho, so not sure whether you can spam it or not.
