Zombies have become a real threat! Are we going to see more coop instead of pvp?

I like pvp, too. I just like pvz more. Well, until now zombies were annoying, now they're finally becoming dangerous. -

Thread title says it all. -
Dear rocket, f**k humanity. Focus on Morality.

From my experience playing in a large'ish group (6-7 players): - Most of us are completely new to Arma2 and absolutely crap players (including yours truly) - We started playing purely for PvE, but had to shift to PvP due to necessity (see below) - We thought playing in a large group would be a big enough deterrent to keep PvP'ers away from us - Big mistake, paid for it in blood and beans - Now we shoot first and ask questions later - Although we still don't consider ourselves PvP'ers, ridding the world of the human infestation seems a much more worthy cause than ridding it of zombies -- at least zombies are predictable and easy to avoid -

I play with a large group of friends. We have absolutely no moral issue killing anyone who's not on our team. It's the zombie apocalypse and the faster all the others are dead, the faster we can start rebuilding the world to our liking. -
Did i just have a heartattack? (died for no apparant reason)
kim.bedin@gmail.com replied to Oddball_E8's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I've been killed by laying prone next to a tree and glitching into it. I first thought it was a sniper, but as I didn't die instantly, heard no shot and afterwards found my body with all loot still on it, it's pretty safe to assume it wasn't. Oh well. -

Build 1.5.8 rolling update

- Nvidia GTX 690 - Anywhere, especially outside in bright light - Immediate apparent input lag, becomes unacceptable after 10 mins - On all servers where it is daytime (could it be related to [FIXED] Fog is way too thick?) FPS starts around 50, gradually lowers to mid-30s within 10 minutes. FPS with 1.5.7 was steady 60 everywhere (vsync on). For the record: I don't mean to be a self-entitled asshole with an expensive videocard, but I do know what this card can do in vanilla Arma2 OA and what it used to do in 1.5.7. -
Performance Drop; 1.5.8.2 Hotfix

Just adding my voice to it, hope the fix will come out soon. Can't play like this. Wasting an evening on Diablo 3. -
I agree with many people here who say that the need to eat occurs much too often during the day. This is obviously a gameplay balancing thing. Since we can't all play DayZ 24/7 (sadly), it adds a sense of urgency to finding food, which is a good thing, but gets annoying after a while. Maybe this could be changed in such a way that you need to eat less often during the day, but that eating itself takes longer and isn't something that takes less than 5 seconds to do. You'd have to find a good hiding spot, sit down, eat (and make noise) for up to a minute or two, leaving you perfectly vulnerable while you do this. If you stop eating (move or whatever), you are not fed and have to start over. Drinking, on the other hand, is just fine as it is. Due to the abundance of water sources and the fact that you do need to hydrate quite a bit under the circumstances. Oops, posted in wrong subforum. Could this be moved to suggestions?

Unless it means outside temperature, which would make more sense. Still, I don't understand how it could go from one spot being around 98F (wasn't even in direct sunlight or anything) to 67F in 10 minutes. If we're talking body temperature, then the range should be much, much narrower. Something like: 98F = great 97F = bit lowered (from standing still too long, etc.) 96F = lowest grade hypothemia 95F = low grade hypothermia 94F = hypothermia 93F (and lower) = falling unconscious / eventually death And on the other end: 98F = great 99F = warmed up (from running, etc.) 100F = lowest grade fever 101F = low grade fever 102F = fever 103F (and above) = falling unconscious / eventually death

Temperature dropped from 98 to 67 in ten minutes (doing nothing much in particular, not hungry or thirsty either). If we're talking about Fahrenheit, you'd be in a really bad place below 97. Temperature gauge was only lightly red.

There's indeed nothing wrong with the zombies, only with their respawn rate, making it nearly impossible to clear out a town even if you kill them all. Will this be fixed in the next update then?
