Okay kiddo, I scavenged through a housing development, a warehouse and a handful of other sundry buildings. No hatchet. Some ammo, a flare, and a water bottle. All I can say is FUCK YOU and YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE.

I played for two hours the other day and found NOTHING. Not even a freaking pipe or stick.... no way that could happen, especially siince I was crawling around in an abandoned warehouse and neighborhood.

I get that... but DAYZ strives for realism and survival. even the basest survivalist will have something to defend themselves with. Not asking for a gun here. I mean, what is priority one in survival. Food (hunting) and water, with water being number one. Starting without a weapon is just nuts, especially when bandits abound. Zombies are the least of your worries in that case. Maybe a random base weapon when you spawn? Anything that can help you hunt or defend yourself in the most basic way would be nice.

Yes... its HARD, but it rewards observation and patience. I have to admit though, I would even appreciate a pointy stick... lets face it, who would even leave their room to scavenge for supplies without AT LEAST a broomstick or something to defend ones self with.....

What fixed it for me was DAYZ Commander. Update both you Arma 2 and DAYZ version to the latest one, then filter for server that host the version of Arma 2 that you are running. Then match that with the version of DAYZ that you are running and "voila!" you should have no more stuck at loading screen bugs.

I'd be happy to group with you. Its tough going when you have to solo!

I would have to say that having an extra pair of "friendly" eyes to watch you back is a gooood thing.
