Do these parameter tweaks and the change of the two files to "read-only" affect changes made by updates? I.e., could people with these changes be passed over by possible fps improvements?
-
I would already rejoice about a "zombies killed" counter.

I'm speculating here, so I have no clue. I suppose the devs would have to find out by testing and feedback from the community.

Right now loot spawns when the server resets. That means people just have to look at the servertime and/or the number of players, and join a server near a high loot site. With autonomous-respawning loot (at least that's how I image the system will be) the loot would disappear if people join the server too close to it.
-
Eventually prevents serverhopping and there is a reward for going through an already looted location. Possibly encourages "loot farming", i.e. walking in a large circle and cyling the spawned loot, but that is a big improvement over the current system, and the best system that I can think of.

Did you tweek the files in the documents/dayz folder, the cfg-file and the one with your user name? It's probably because you made it read-only. Simply tab out of the game, uncheck read-only, make the changes in the game, then tab out and check the boxes again. Worked for me. -
Priority No.1, definitely.

I don't think it would suit the nomadic behavior people should and probably will have in this game, once loot and zombie spawns are fixed. Also, it would entirely change the way people fight, and not in a good way. Particularly in buildings.

The M4 has 2 fire modes, automatic and single shot, which does make the M4 a bearable medium range weapon. I prefer the SKS, but have yet to kill someone with it. How many bullets does it take to kill someone? Dayz-wiki says 1-4 to the body, last time I tried, 5 shots didn't bring the guy down. Possible missed a few.

What "reset bug" are you talking about, anyway? In over 100 hours I've been reset maybe three or four times, clearly you are doing something wrong.
-
Bleeding, too? Are you sure they don't just die of blood loss in the 30 seconds they remain in the game after they logged out?

It was experimental, though. I met 6 unarmed people on the way to Elektro, which all joined the group, then we met 2 guys with a shovel and an axe. Naturally, everybody wanted a piece of that sweet, sweet shovel and axe, so we fought them. Someone played music through their mic, and like this we stormed and fought through Elektro. Didn't take long for some grumpy, grouchy guy to kill us all one by one with his rifle. Being a bambi is the happy, joyful time you'll ever have. Just like in real life.

In the perfect apocalyptic dayZ world we would have...

You are not very demanding :) In the "standard" version of the DayZ Mod, without any of the mods which came out later, people already held locations. One trade guild blocked the gates of Devil's Castle with barbwire and sandbags, and made it safe place for people to come to and trade. I think they even had a chopper to fly people in and out, and there were snipers on the walls watching out for hostile players and zombies. It was fun until a hacker killed them all. I don't see why this wouldn't be possible later on, when all that stuff and more is added in. Especially with base building possibilities, which are planned to be implemented at some point, afaik. I would like to see an entire town in clan/guild possession, with the usual bandit groups trying to drive them out. Would be pretty cool to take sides in such an event. It's even more likely in the standalone than in the mod, because the devs wanted to enlarge the server capacities. Edit: Wow, awesome ideas right there. -
