  1. How is there no way to detect if it was self defense or not? Player A shoots B first, then A has "opened" the battle. B kills A, B defended himself. or A kills B, A is a murderer. How hard was that to figure out?

Storage Capacity For Tents and Vechiles..

We don't care if we do not see how much space is left, just don't let the game destroy our stuff, it's pretty dumb.

    Simple hacking solution

VAC is indeed published by Valve, but implementing it would not make your product a Valve product. This is just like saying this would make your game a punkbuster product. However, the way I see it is that most cheatings are due to : - unfiltered commands/scripts can be executed by random people - weakly secured console servers - calculations done client-side instead of server-side - aimbots and network/CPU manipulation softwares (the real thing that is hard to fight against) 99% of the cheats used today on the game are due to the first three issues. This is something that does not require any anti cheat solution at all, just more attention from the devs. For example actually the zombies pathfinding is calculated client-side and your zombies positions is sent to the server then to other players (this is why you see some zombies lagging if they are not for you). This is something that could be cheated on, so, for example, a player could simply remove the zombie threat for him client-side.* With better algorithms (probably requiring a rewrite of important code parts) it should be possible for the server to calculate all of the zombies positions and pathfinding, even if there are 200 or 300 zombies around. Maybe not in the current game state, due to the way the landscape is managed by the server (which I have no clue of), but theoritically possible. This is just an example as I never saw a zombie cheat, but it is client-side, so it could happen.

    Fireworks

You forgot that zombies spawn in the nearby locations of the buildings you are at. You could not attract them 10 kilometers away from your location, and that would be silly however as that would deplete the towns for all other players. In fact I think there are more important things to do than implement fireworks. I don't dislike the idea, I find it pointless despite the argumentation already made by OP, sorry.

    Hero rewards and bandit punishments

OP has three posts, and his message is just similar as the ton of the already existing similar ideas in this suggestion part of the forum. Go here : http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/79262-a-way-to-help-curb-the-amount-of-pointless-murders-by-people/ Here : http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/73091-bandits-and-mass-murderers-they-hunger/ or here : http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/79505-rewarding-bad-and-good-players-my-idea/ to continue this thread. Thank you.

    Mines

I disagree with this suggestion. There are far more interesting things to develop than put more stuff on the map to randomly kill players who got a vehicle (seriously, I never saw anyone driving a vehicle, despite I have one myself hidden somewhere in the servers mass, that I use as a tent). Maybe some stuff to blow the wheels and lock the car down, but anti tank mines? Seriously, why would a survivor want to destroy other people vehicles? Would you do that in a zombie apocalypse? Go play Arma, Battlefield or whatever games has mines for a righteous purpose. Not a zombie apocalypse game.
  7. If you think that massively shooting players on sight, without any word of warning, without even trying to loot them, is role playing, you should seriously start to play role playing games ASAP, because, Sir, you obviously don't know what role playing is.
  8. ^ THIS CONSTRUCTIVE SUGGESTION DESERVES A SERIOUS INSIGHT. Yes, do this. I think it's an almost amazing solution. And the more inhumanity you get, the more you will need your psychotrops.
  9. What would that change? If they are cheating, you got their names. If they are not, and by mistake you think they are, you can at least ask an investigation by the admin/community. I see absolutely no issue with that. I second OP.

    The shock mechanic

Obviously the problem you highlight here is not the shock system by itself, but the fact you can randomly get shocked and/or break your legs on the environment.

    Bring back the side channel

We are talking about side channel, if it should be here or not, not about muting individual players.

    Bring back the side channel

I started DayZ 5 days ago (bought Arma II just for this) While I managed to learn and practice alone for a while, I then went on a server with side channel. This was totally cool, because for the first time I was able to ask on the server who wanted to make a coop and play with skype. This way I found two buddies with whom I play now regularly on the evening! They agreed that without side channel this would have NEVER happen. I am certain I would be as lonely now as when I started. God bless that feature. It was also a lot more fun because some players tried to trap me, telling me to come "at this location" which clearly was an ambush. Also, I agree it makes the game less "realistic", but for god's sake, just give us a damned talkie-walkie, radio or whatever can help side channel to be back. Or, more simply, give the players who want it the opportunity to deactivate side channel messages. Some players don't like it, so it is removed for everyone? Damned... This was a good step toward less dumb PvP and more talkative and roleplayed events, even if they could end bad. I TOTALLY SECOND SIDE CHANNEL TO BE BACK.
  13. This looks like a complete computer management disaster. If you run Win 7 and want to run XP, go for VirtualBox and run an emulator. Also, 7 includes many "hidden" features that are not in XP : multiprocessing is way better, memory management is too, kernel is strongly updated toward global stability (think about CTRL+ALT+DEL), and go on. Give up on XP, or emulate it just as I emulate DOS now... Dual boot it? Just LOL.

    A request of Rocket...

Whatever is causing this graphical glitch MUST be removed ASAP. It's just plain crazy that this mess has gone through for so long.
  15. DayZ is true survival horror, but the current broken leg system is not delivering the amount of fun it should. First, because the gameplay is not here. What does it mean for anyone to crawl for hours in hope to breach whatever hospital, for which you need real gunpower to break in, and if you ever can find that hospital, cuz right now you are cluelessly in the middle of nowhere? Best deal is to suicide. People play a game, not a simulation. If the game is realistic, fine, but whatever 'hospital emergencies' simulation it could become: NO. In fact I simply dislike the ideas of having broken legs. Why not missing hand, or blind eye? 80% of the time your legs will be broken by : - a door - a 2 meters fall when missing a ladder - a wall or a ramp when crawling in buildings Is that not enough that I bleed, that I collapse randomly, that I got hit for thousands of damage while opening a door, and you want my legs to be broken on top of that? Damned you, you are evil
  16. This post is totally fun and full of irony, but brings not even the beginning of a solution to the ALT+F4 problem. For my part I think the developers should think about WHY you constantly risk to be shot on sight and work on that issue.
  17. Start on coast, look around. Day is shiny, looks promising... Oh, here is a city! Start crawling nearby city. Crawl for 15 minutes. Open a fence gate, got wounded by door, has to bandage myself, blood lost : 3500. Progress in the city while crawling. Crawl for 20 minutes, take a lot of risks. Find all houses are just decoration, no loot. Now using a ladder on a random building. Empty can found here. Going back. Missed the ladder, falled down 2 meters high, lost 4000 blood. Legs broken. Go back to an exit door while crawling. Turn around in the door entrance to check around and got wounded by the wall. Blood lost: 4000. Bleeding more. Got knocked out by lack of blood. Bleeding to death... I can hear them. Start on coast, look around. Day is shiny and... Oh, here is a city!
