Hello all, I notice now you get infected a lot when hit by zombies, this doesn't bother me in the slightest, in fact i welcome the harder element of it BUT.. for this to work you need to have more antibiotics available to find. At the moment if you get infected the best thing to do is run to a spawn location, get yourself in a bush which you think will be safe, wait to die and then go back to your body and re-gear up and head off again.. if you get infected again just rinse and repeat.. and I'm pretty sure this isn't how dean imagined the game to be played. I have been playing for a good 30 hours on 1.7.7.1 in fact from 6pm last night me and a friend did a full 14 hour session and we never once found and antibiotics, blood bags or even the medical boxes which usually appear in hospitals. (is this a server problem or is it an issue with the patch?) is this because I'm looking in the wrong place? After getting a little bit fed up of finding the same tin cans, nails or toilet paper i asked someone where the best place to find items was (just food & drink in this case) o was told that zombies dropped much more food and drink than previous iterations of Dayz and so far i believe it to be true, kill 10-15 zombies and your backpacks over flowing with beans. Someone also said that antibiotics were found more easily on military zombies (police, soldier types) so we headed to Stary Sober but after killing what must of been neigh on 50 we never once got either. Also, a question regarding the ability (or in this case the inability) to loose zombies in the dark, is it just my imagination or is it really a lot harder to loose zombies at night? previously in patches i have played if you was seen by a zombie you could run around a couple buildings and jobs a good'un you are scott-free but now i can run around as many buildings as i want, over fences, through trees and they just keep on coming.. if this is an addition to the latest patch is there a possibility to look at making loosing them at night a little bit easier? i loose sight of my team mates easier than i loose zombies.. Arma is more cpu than gpu i think. From my sli 460's (which are for sale btw) to the gtx680 i didnt see too much of a fps increase. The other games you mention i ran pretty much maxed out.

i understood it from the start, i just think something are slightly too punishing. after all its a game, if a game isnt fun / challenging then people just wont play. -

He will just tell you to try run away. Killing bandits doesnt effect your humanity anyway. Hes right tho, if someone wants to shoot you the only way you should be able to get away would be to run or fight. Just means ppl will have to be ultra careful if they dont want to be spotted. -

I know in the game we are but in real life if i go to throw a bean can at a wall im not in combat am i. If you look up what combat means it will say something like a fight or conquest against individuals or groups. I just think acts of a non violent nature towards other players shouldnt be classed as combat. Eg throwing a flare or chopping down some trees for a campfire. Etc.

If a player cant hear the wizz of the bullet past his head to know he has been shot then thats tough. There are enough clues already built into the game which allow players to identify if they are being shot at, by what and what with. If your not good enough to use the clues built in you deserve to be shot, if you was shot at by a sub sonic bullet and they missed and the bullet landed 50m you wouldnt see the bullet hit the ground, maybe you would if you was looking that way but why on earth should you be told you was shot at.? I have no issues with the system i just think some values need tweeking. -

Id just like to say thank you for trying to deal with the combat loggers. Although i didnt find it too annoying anyway its a bit more refreshing to know that they have logged out so i can move on without the thought they could still be in game sneaking up on me. But my biggest issue is this audiable distance thing.. I have no issues if a bullet lands within 10m of you its pretty certain you are being shot at or if i fire a weapon then im quite happy to accept that i shouldnt be able to log off but i cant help but picture someone just running through the bushes and seeing in combat because someone is just collecting some wood to survive. Now the person running knows someone is within 70m and goes hunting for someone he would of otherwise never known to be there and for the guy collecting his wood... Well he has no idea about the incoming bullet. I think this range will just enable people to get cheap kills from time to time. If you put the range down to 10m at least it gives both parties an equal chance and will remove that 'right place, right time lucky guy' also if you cant be seen within 10m you deserve the kill, if you dont see them then you deserve to die. I like everything else tho. -
You hit the nail on yhe head.. You can HEAR branches breaking... You dont get some little logo in your vision saying that something is at least 70m away do you. Cows make a sound when they die, if i player doesnt hear that then thats their fault. Not mine. And you are NOT in combat when you axe a tree or kill a cow are you! Combat is a 2 way thing, the cow isnt going to turn around and kung fu kick you in the side of your head is it.. I really love what the combat system aims to do. I also think it will work well But 70m is just too much.
