Lowering Scene complexity will help IF you have a Gfx Card that is teetering on the edge of being able to run it - ie anything with 512mb. Everyone else with a 1gb (or 2gb card) should be able to eat Arma 2's best and ask for more. As was said elsewhere in here, despite what DRH said, the problem cannot be the Arma engine losing the floating point because of scene complexity, because if you play A2OA then you have maybe 30+ tanks onscreen at one time plus several aircraft, x hundred AI (all of which drop their weapons when they die) and local wildlife. All of this is much more intensive and complex than anything DayZ needs to render. -
Camo skins textures have been effed up since 1.7.2.5 haven't they ? They used to be sharp and detailed, now they look like 1998 Half Life textures.

Same thing happened to me, Instant Auto kill, sent to empty place, respawned with nothing except my Ghillie suit. Some people suggested that the Ghillie suit is prone to sometimes cause this problem if, when you logout, you are hiding in a tree or bush with the branches clipping through your body, or your body/weapon is clipping through another object like a wall.

Diary mode based TREASURE MAPS on dead bodies ?! I love that idea ! It's a pity Rocket never gets to read these ideas any more. And cave systems under hills, and military complexes under airfields. They could make it as hollow as SKYRIM with all the underground stuff.

I would like for there to be more game animals - ones that are challenging to hunt, ones that will run (and not stop 10m later like the current animals) - eg DEER, ELK - something you can track and hunt down, to relive the tedium of trudging through the empty woods. I like your idea of using the dog to help you hunt.

They should include piss drinking in the game ! It would be difficult though, with the hackers taking it all the time ! :-)

Yep, people just love to force their style of play onto others. It's funny and depressing to read alot of posts where people just want to suck the fun out of everything. In this case they could have said "Wouldn't it be great if shit was randomized !", but instead they change it to 'let's stop other people from playing the game in a way that's different to the way *I* play it, and then mock them for playing it differently too'.

Simple solution for Graphical Artifacs

Rocket is always saying in Q&A's and interviews that it is caused by a "floating point error" which is caused by an particularly complex rendering requirement. But if you set your video options to VERY LOW and a resolution that would embarrass even a PS One, the problem still occurs, making a mockery of Rocket's recommendation. In the IGN interview he recommended turning Vert Sync ON when it happened to the game the interviewer was playing, it made the problem WORSE. If vanilla Operation Arrowhead can handle hundreds of AI plus vehicles onscreen without this problem then it seems wrong of Rocket to blame Arma's engine. -
Infected Clothing (suit) aids stealth against Zeds

This was a suggestion by another person over at the DayZ dev heaven (https://dev-heaven.net/issues/42588) He was talking about the implementation of smell for Zombies, and later added the idea of the 'Infected Clothing' QUOTE "Infected Clothing" Looks like one of the outfits the civilian zeds wear. While wearing it, players would "smell like an infected" and all that entails, such as greatly reducing zeds detecting them via scent, and causing animals to react to them in whatever way they normally react to infected when/if special animal behavior gets added. As a downside, increases chance of becoming sick. END QUOTE Even if smell is never implemented, as a visual trick to fool the Zombies into ignoring you it would be excellent too. -

I remember back in the day, playing Day of Defeat over a 56k modem with a 750ping, and maxping was 3000! Not good. -
DZ Zombies need their sounds remaking too. They all sound the same. And that damn duck quacking.

Maps generated on the fly wouldn't be very good. Rocket said that Chernarus took over 2 years to create and test. If chernarus is the minimum expected level for size and quality then random maps would be pants. Great idea though.

Isn't Rocket all about giving the community the tools to do stuff and then watching to see what happens ? I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually gave the community the tools to get the railroad operating and run it themselves. On some servers it would be bandit operated, and on others a survivor operated service. Then once we get horses (community created again) we can play Butch Cassidy and rob the trains.

I like the idea of becoming a zombie and infecting others as a refreshing change from just respawning back on the coast with nothing. Would your player Zombie be able to interact with, or attack the NPC zombies ?
