What would you DO with a weaponless plane ? Fly around abit ? Land ? If building a plane had a purpose - like enabling you to fly to Lingor, or some other new island THEN it would have a purpose.

For the Standalone, I hope they create some kind of gameplay differences between men and women. Men can carry more, women's health/hunger degrades slower etc etc. If DRH implemented realism to the nth degree he should make the women menstruate so that Zombies are insanely drawn to them (pack rape: Optional).

One of the beta patches, or maybe it was the Czech Army demo patch, seems to have added naff tooltips to loading screens, such as 'blah blah always go prone when you shoot', and other stuff that makes the game feel consoley. Is there an INI setting to turn these messages off ?

You're right, business is king, but DRH is a unique guy, he's more Orson Welles than Michael Bay, and he obsessively sticks to his 'vision' of the game and refuses to compromise regardless of however many more copies it might sell. People said he would kill the game when he took the pistol away from new spawners, but he stuck to his 'vision' regardless. For better or worse, he seems to view DayZ as a social experiment as much as a game - he gives you x resources and sits back and watches as we abuse and fuck each other over. DRH has the full backing of BIS Management to do whatever he wants in accomplishing his 'vision' for Dayz, if that includes removing super advanced sniper rifles from the game then that's what he'll do.

Strangulation is a cool idea just like the kidnap and torture options - but again, if someone was strangling someone, they would just do the equivalent of ALT-F4.

I have the ACR Lite patch - it adds those horrible gameplay tips as the game loads - and there's been alot of complaining about the ACR at the BIS forums, all sorts of problems. Doesn't DayZ Commander have a setting to launch the game via Steam, enabling you to connect to a server AND run it through Steam.

Yes, DRH is (or was anyway) one of the most accessible Devs working for a AAA developer in the business. But when he gets busy he can disappear for weeks at a time leaving people who are used to his aforementioned accessibility in the dark, and frustrated with new bugs and issues cropping up all the time. Why can't he have a small Developer Blog on the forum ? It can just be a stickied thread that only he can post in, it can be just a 1 line entry, eg "Today I will be working on zombie pathfinding". or "Today I will be snorting coke from supermodel's anuses". He doesn't even have to type it himself, just hand a Post-It note to one of the interns or Admin Assistants to do. Just something, a little crumb, so that we don't feel out of the loop

It depends what the guilty party is using ALT F4 for ? If it is a player who doesn't wish to engage in pvp against his/her will, or if a player is being fucked over by a hacker - then quitting is ok (IMO). If it is to server hop and gain a tactical advantage over their attacker then that is different. I can't see how DRH could make a system that blocks it without penalizing the former ? Even DayZ Commander comes with a nice and quick option to close the game, with Windows Macro Recorder set to ALT C then you can quickly close the game. But anyway, DayZ has and will always have, enough problems with serious hackers to sweat about the small stuff like this.

Ghillie suit bug. It's happened to me and many, many other players before. When you log off, don't be prone or crouched, don't be clipping any tree branches, walls, tents, vehicles etc (ie be standing up and clear of your surrounding objects and fauna), this will lessen the chances of it happening.
