Before I do any critiquing I should say that I have no experience under my belt of making short films. I'll start with the acting. The acting overall with good. There were times that it really seemed like the characters were just saying a line and not really having feeling and expression behind it. At other times the acting was amazing. As far as the effects go they were some of the best I've ever seen in a short film. Especially the gun shots. The camera angles were also amazing. They really worked in the scene with what was happening. The story plot is fairly good. I especially like the ending. Overall I would say this is probably one of the best DayZ short films I've seen.

My friend and I actually did some tent raiding yesterday. We played for a blessed five hours with out running into hackers on a plus 20 people server. Anyways, the server we play on is 12 hours ahead of our actual time, so at 4 am in game me and my friend are going through the northwest airfield along the tree lines making sure there are no snipers. We then find a tent with some good gear but the best being a Bizon PP-19 SD with two mags for it. Well we didn't have room in our backpacks for the gun at the time so we had to leave it. We then proceeded north towards the end of the map to start looking for tents. We find a tractor in the middle of the woods with a lot of good gear in it. Near the tractor lying on the ground is a MK 48. We get 300 rounds for it and then proceed to go somewhere else and set up our tents. We do more raiding and end up getting an armory of about 10 weapons. We then get the brilliant idea to go back to the NW Airfield and get the gun from the tent. We successfully get the gun and ammo with out running into any players and with out aggroing any zombies.

Won't be long before every map in Arma is made into a DayZ map.

As others have stated, the cans have ring pullers.

Alt F4ing due to hackers is completely fine. Alt F4ing to avoid a firefight or players isn't OK and is heavily frowned upon even by Rocket himself.

Well you could be both. I'm not a bandit but I'm defintley not a hero. I almost never take chances and get pretty frackin lucky sometimes. I got in a close corner firefight with a bandit once. Sniped a survivor in a ghillie suit while running. I've had bullets whiz by me just barely missing from an AS50. I honestly think your story is a combination of luck and skill. You faced some noobs but got some good shots too.

Hello there. So a couple days ago me and my friend were playing DayZ and we got shot at a couple times while we were in a Firestation. After a little bit we went outside and saw a body. He had an AS50 on him. I picked it up and we ended up finding another body with an AS50. Anyways I am willing to trade my AS50 (It has thermal sights) for a DMR. Note that I only have one mag for my AS50.

Hacking is hacking. If you're too stupid to realize that then I'm glad you got banned.

One good idea to prevent ghosting that I've read about is that when you log off a server and try to rejoin another one, there is a certain amount of time you have to wait before you can get on. It doesn't completely get rid of ghosting but it could help.

Dang that sucks. You got a good shot with that Winchester though.

Ghosting is ghosting. Unless your like me. In which case when you get bored of your character you go into Chernose (The giant city near Eleckro that I don't know how to spell) on a low pop server, then server hop onto a hi pop server, then proceed to run around Cherno while singing over direct chat and seeing how long you can live.

I like the idea of humanity being restarted upon a new character but that is about it. I think that the character should be who the player makes him/her. That player is himself/herself. They should be the ones feeling guilt, or feeling nothing, becoming jumpy, or staying calm. Not the character.

I kept server hopping until I somehow ended up on the shore. That is the only help I can give you.

I'm pretty sure that "crack" noise is the sound of the bullet flying by.

I had something like that happen to me a while back. Me and my friend made it to Stary and we ran into a barn to look for some food real fast. Then some hackers teleported to us. My friend disconnected immediately and I stayed on because I don't support ALT F4ing. Little did we know they were hackers at the time. Their "leader" had a ghillie suit and a demon like voice modifier. I thought it was the typical, put your gun down stuff. So with them trying to tell me what to do and my friend screaming at me over skype to disconnect, I end up lagging out. Wanting to see what will happen (I honestly thought it was cool being held hostage) I rejoin the server. I had a glitch happening to me at that time where everytime I rejoined a server I would pass out. Well when I joined the hackers thought I was dead and one of them double tapped me to see if I was. Not a good idea. I then died. I respawned, who knows where. As I'm running I see a jeep and the hackers jump out. I thought, "I must be really close to my body!" They come out and tell me not to move. I go prone and just lay there. They tell me their going to help me. They then proceed to spawn me an ammo crate. They say, take what ever you want from it. I had no clue this was hacking as I was still new to the mod. I get good gear and proceed out. They tell me not to die because they aren't giving me another one.

The amount of detail and information you gave us blows my mind. Most amount of information I've ever seen.

Interesting story. Doesn't happen everyday... wait it might with all the hackers.

That's true, but maybe a couple got left behind for some reason. Maybe they were left in the rush to get out, they were dropped, etc.

Ok thanks. And as regards to your post about Chernarus, what it means by updated is, almost all the buildings are enter-able, some changes to the map, a bigger map, and some other things.

You make a good point. I think that there should still be a couple M136s though because supposedly Chernarus was invaded by the US before the zombie outbrake.

This ^ It would be the coolest thing ever done in a video game but with the technology we have today, it's just not possible.
