A zombie apocalypse could possible send some people over the edge, turning them into psychopaths. A big issue with humanity and such in this mod is that no one knows how they will actually act in a real zombie apocalypse. Everyone can say what they want about how they'll act, but until it actually happens, you don't know for sure. "War is romantic to those who have not experienced it" That is how it'll be for an apocalypse. You have all these fantasies about it, but when it actually hits you, things change in a heartbeat.

OP I know the feels man. I've played on countless Private hives in the last two months and I've run into abusive admins on almost all of them. Servers that didn't have abusive admins had really shitty ones who didn't seem to know what the fuck they were doing. I was playing on one that had an admin spawn in satchel charges and then dupe them. I've had a lot of troubles with admins and I know how shitty it can be. Balota Buddies is different though. It's the only Private Hive I've played on that has had amazing admins. Not only does it have amazing admins it has an amazing community too. I've yet to find a community like it. I'm taking an economy class in school and from what I've learned and understand, I would like to use the information to add on to what others have stated. Paper money is only valuable when it is backed by something that is valuable such as gold, silver, or some other precious ore/mineral. In a zombie apocalypse, that paper money will become useless because it will no longer be backed by a precious substance. With a government collapse, who knows what would happen to that precious ore/mineral that is backing the paper money. Pure gold or silver coins could still be of value but not everyone is going to care or want gold and silver in an apocalypse. People are going to want things like bread, beans, bullets, guns, clothes, etc. Things that will keep them alive. Those items now have the "backup" of keeping them or others alive. That is what is going to make them valuable.

I want gore and dismemberment in DayZ but not the ability to just sew an arm or leg back on. If you were to get your arm/leg/hand/etc shot off, chances are that body part would be way to screwed up to sow back on. I'm not someone who has had experience with seeing limbs being shot off, or watching videos with it happening, but from what I know about guns, there are some guns that would completely blow a limb to pieces. The AS50 would completely destroy a limb. The bullet kind of breaks into pieces when it hits something like a shotgun shell breaks into many small pieces. That .50 round would leave little to none left of a limb. Not all bullets are able to do that but .50 rounds sure as hell can. As I stated earlier, we shouldn't just be able to sow limbs back on. There needs to be make shift pegs and things to replace limbs.

I've tried out many other private hives in the last month but I haven't enjoyed any as much as I have BB. I just wish my IRL friends didn't get so pissed off when they got killed and leave. Now I've been trying to convince them to return for the last month or two.

Well my story is about how I got backstabbed. I was playing on a private hive and was transferring gear from my UAZ to my tents on Drakon island(The island just SE of Electro for those who don't know what it is). I was swimming back and forth between land and the island transferring stuff. As I was putting some FN FALs into my tent, two AS50 shots ring out. Stupidly I take cover behind a rock. A few minutes later the sniper takes me out after he had changed positions. I get a spawn right next to the island and start swimming for my body. I grab my gear and then I see the sniper running for my UAZ. I quickly take him out. He was in a different TS channel and so I hopped into his channel and asked him if he was the one who had sniped me. He said he was and that he wouldn't of sniped me if he knew it was me. We weren't friends but we weren't enemies either so I somewhat believed him. He ask for his gear back and I tell him to let me think about it. He had all end game gear. I could simply keep his gear and my gear I already had, or give him back his gear. I decided the latter. I was trying to be a nice guy. I give him back his gear and he shoots me instantly, taking his gear and my gear I had spent two weeks collecting. I vowed revenge and that I would kill every mother fucker I came across from that day on. I have stayed true to that. His ass is still alive but I will kill him eventually. My once, friendly, trusting self, has now turned into a serial killer. I am no longer out to make friends. I am out to make enemies and my name feared.

Seems like this thread got a decent amount of attention, eh? As stated earlier, some thread aren't worth replying to, don't know about the topic, the topic isn't of interest, etc. Not much more needs to be said.

The link was removed, for the right reasons, but the DayZ devs stated there will still be a few hackers that get through, but 99% of hackers will be eliminated.

Getting rid of the M107 and AS50 has been something I've wanted for the past month. I hate the two guns. I feel way over powered using them but I feel like I have to use them if I'm going to take down another .50 cal sniper. I am all in favor of this suggestion.
