That sucks. I lost my CD Key along time ago because I was stupid enough to download a program that was suppose to increase my FPS (As stated in my SIG). Any arma file should NEVER be downloaded from a non trusted site. The only places I suggest downloading stuff from is, Armaholic, DayZ commander, and Play with Six.

Run steam as administrator. Then run Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA.

IMO Namalsk is really easy to loot up on. I found military grade gear easily on there.

This. As50s and m107s need to be completely removed from the game or make them so rare to the point where only in like a hundred thousand would have it. I want to see more hunting rifles and as you stated, make military grade weapons as rare as as50s.

I don't see much to add on to what others have said because pretty much everything to be said has been. The one thing I want to add is this, What I think made DayZ so popular was its unforgiving, cruel, tough, kick you in the ass when you screw up, nature. Back when DayZ first came out it was one of the most popular "games" at the time. Everywhere I looked it seemed like people were making DayZ videos or talking about DayZ. Then when the masses came in, there were the ones who didn't like it. Who found it too tough or didn't enjoy dying and regaining gear. I believe that is when hackers started becoming a problem. They couldn't enjoy the mod for what it was and decided to ruin everyone else's enjoyment for their own fun. That explains the 12 year old COD script kiddies. They excpected to come on here, guns blazing, and kill every mother fucker they laid eyes on. Then they got killed by a few zombies, got sniped in Cherno, and got backstabbed by that dude at NWA. They raged, downloaded dem hacks, get global banned, then came on here and say their younger brother downloaded the hacks. All the private hives have also strayed away from what DayZ once was. I once saw a Taviana Server with 10,000 vehicles. There are some DayZ private hives that are vanilla or try to stay vanilla for the most part but those aren't all that common. They might add a few new features, which I personally like, but try to stay relatively vanilla. But IMO as I stated previously, the unforgiving, cruel, kick you in the ass and make you slam your head against a wall then smash your balls with a sledgehammer, nature, made DayZ what it was and still kinda is. With SA going back to its nature and having all the amazing ideas it does, it seems unlikely to fail. I'm not saying it won't, but it has a lot of hope.

Meh same old, same old excuses. You're going to need to completely wipe all Arma 2 files off your computer first. Make sure that hack is deleted and completely gone. Purchase a new copy of Arma 2 OA on a new steam account and change your Regedit. Yes, you will have to change your steam account everytime you want to play DayZ and when you want to play another game. Dear god I made so many grammar mistakes

The PMC one will make the survivor, bandit, and hero look better. If you only want the expansion pack for the skins, I can't say I would get it. I just bought the PMC 30ish minutes ago but it isn't just for DayZ. I love arma and since Arma 3 is still in alpha, Arma 2 has more to feature and I'd like to try out the stuff the PMC pack features.

I myself enjoy some of the stuff private hives offer because it gives a new experience. The biggest problem with public hives though, is of course hackers. Most people have gone over to private hives to avoid these hackers. That explains lack of populated public hives Script kiddies and 12 year old COD squeakers have ruined this mod. They've made many give up on DayZ, and others resort to trying to "Counter Hack". Though counter hacking is just as bad as hacking. Stand Alone isn't too far off in the horizon. The land has been spotted and the ship is closing in. We'll be there soon. The hackers will be gone for the most part and we'll have a brand new "vanilla" experience.

Yep, sounds like your typical COD bandit. Can't aim at all. I still remember my first kill clear as day. I don't think I'll be forgetting it anytime soon either. I honestly have no clue where I was at. The only thing I know was that I was in a barn along the shore. I was looting the barn hoping to find a gun. This was only my 2nd or 3rd day playing DayZ and I had NEVER run into a player before. I heard running outside of the barn but it didn't sound like a zombie running. My heart started racing. I had really shitty gear but at the time it was of value to me. The person comes running into the barn with a crowbar. I'm on the second flooring freaking out and hoping the person doesn't run up to me. Well, she did run up to the same floor as me. I had no clue if the person was friendly or not and didn't want to die. I started firing for the first time at a player. I don't know how many times I hit her. She jumped off the second floor after I hit her maybe once or twice. Her legs broke and I ran down the stairs to finish her off. I fired a second clip at her and hit her a few more times. On my third clip I put a few shots to her head. After killing her I didn't know how to feel. I felt that in some ways my killing was justified because I didn't know if she was friendly or not. I didn't know at the time how terrible the crowbar was. I thought it was lethal. I felt threatened as the little bambi I was. Now I'm a hero. I use to play as a bandit and had around 200 kills. But I only my first kill I remember so well.

Expanding hunting would be awesome in SA. I want to hear the criess of the animals as I unleash my inner rage and slaughter them all then sacrificing their genitals to Rocket!

I don't know why they haven't already done this. There are a lot more skin options in the PMC pack that could be used in DayZ.

I do both. Sometimes I play with some friends or a group and other times I lone wolf it. Depending on what I'm doing I enjoy one over the other. When I'm by myself I find that I am MUCH more aware of everything than when I'm with others. I'm a hero but when I have to kill someone, I find that I can kill people much easier when I'm by myself. Yeah it's scary as shit to fight someone or a group when your by yourself, but your ass is the only one you have to cover and you aren't checking to make sure the guy you see is your bud. When I'm with a group I generally am more lax and carefree. I generally can goof off more and not really give a shit as much.

If I had a ghillie suit/rangefinders/DMR, I wouldn't trade it for an AKS. That is a terrible gun. I suggest you change that gun for a better one. The M107 would be worth it for maybe the DMR and ghillie but not all three,

Yeah I was wondering about that. The Private Hive I play on has custom gun spawns so I didn't know if the PKM was added to the server or if it was for the russian chopper.
