Yeah it'd be pretty cool to disarm someone while they're unconscious. I'd only do it though if I was trying to take someone hostage though. If I shoot at someone it is only because I'm trying to kill them. Especially if they shot at me first. I've taken someone hostage once or twice. I don't do it often and it doesn't work all that well either. Maybe if we were able to disarm other players it would make for more hostage/prisoner type situations.

Pvp, even against AI, takes practice and experience. There are a lot of videos and "articles" that teach you how to pvp in DayZ/Arma 2 but that is only going to tell you what to do. Remembering what to do and actually doing it when the shots ring out is different. You practically have to train if you want to get good at pvp. Although, Sula since you don't shoot at players, just the ai, I suggest you launch Arma 2 OA, go to the editor, choose a map, spawn a few enemy AIs and practice shooting and killing them. AI are extremely stupid and once you learn how they work, you can easily take them on, on Balota Buddies. Rocket talked about bringing DayZ over to console but it is something that if it does happen, it won't happen for a while. I don't know if consoles would even be able to run DayZ. It can hardly run on a lot of computers as it is.

That would actually be really cool. Especially if they were to have survival style gear on them. Would make it more worth it to kill zombies.

I find myself getting killed more because of cover issue glitches in games that have it than just simply crouching behind cover or hiding behind something.

The guy who made this thread was just simply sharing his stories and letting people know why it's bad to go AFK. Although most people should automatically know not to go afk in a game like this but that is besides the point. Then you start being rude and saying, "We know what you mean kid, your story sucks." and saying that kids shouldn't play this game. While young kids around the ages of 11ish and younger probably shouldn't play this game, I don't see a problem with anyone 13+ playing this as long as they are mature. I know quite a bit of people who are around my age, mature, and play DayZ. Including Inception who is a forum moderator on here.

Someone can have an AS50 and be up against a guy with a lee enfield. If the AS50 guy sucks then it doesn't really matter if they have an AS50. I've had an ak before and taken out guys with M107s. I'm not saying that I'm an amazing player but just because you have the bigger stick doesn't mean you are better.

No need to be a dick, man. As for people going AFK, I once forgot I even got on DayZ. I was gone for like an hour or two. I died in the church in electro, ran back to see if my body was still there, and it was. Luckily zombies killed me so all my loot was still there.

Yep, you have to use the beta patch. Don't know why you have to but it won't let you join any servers if you don't.

Nah. Tbh I don't even like the whole bandit, survivor, and hero skin thing. I'm glad they won't have it in SA. I think it would be cool if your character got blood on him/her if he/she shot a player or zombie close enough that blood got onto them. However I'm not a fan of the idea that your character collects blood on them so you can tell their humanity.

For number 2, since you are using DayZ commader check to see if you have it set to run with steam enabled. If you do, disable it. However if you don't have it enabled, try enabling it and choosing the option to run with the beta patch.

If he is new to the game then the m1014 is obviously of value to him. OP, mLZY stated what most likely the issue. You can easily find another m1014 though. They aren't all that rare and you'll find another one soon enough.

I kind of like the jumping. Although I think it might need to be made a bit smoother, it makes zombies just that much more of a threat, and that's what I want from DayZ. Up until the newest update for the mod, zombies were only there to get in your way. Players were the only threat. Now zombies and players are a threat. That's what I hope for in SA. Zombies being as big of a threat, if not bigger than players.

Rocket said during E3 that SA would be out within the next few weeks - next few months. So there is a possibility it will come out during steam's summer sale.

You could walk up to him and repeatedly stomp on his head until it cracks open and brains spill out all over the place. Since your character is wearing shoes you wouldn't have to worry much about getting infected. Afterwards you could make a camp fire and sacrafice him to the mountain dew gods.
